That's way too long. If my calculations are right, when he met sully in
Cartagena, he was 15, then when you're in France and the scene after the house explodes sully says something in the line that he's getting too old for all the action and says he has some 20 years over Nate meaning he was in his mid 30s when he met Nate, so Nate, at the time of U3 is 15+20=35 putting sully in his mid 50s at U3 present day. In the uncharted website it says it's "a few years" after U3. So I would put Nate in his late 30s/early 40s

hope that makes sense.

Yeah, this sounds about right.

Ok ok ok ok, I think we need to all calm down and breathe deeply and let's not forget the most important part of this game: Scale.

Almost every other IP has increased it's scale due to the the increased RAM budget but I worry that this 1080p/60fps target would force this to become more, if not just as linear as ND's last-gen offerings. Hopefully I would be extremely wrong about this because it's the one fear I hope that won't be vindicated.

Well, it certainly isn't going to be open world so don't get your hopes up. Uncharted has an aesthetic. People need to stop trying to force other games up its bum.

facial animation is GOAT for in-game video-game.
the compitittion are still two gens behind on facial animation.

Naughty Dawg has has the best in-game facial animation

Wasn't the point of the cut-scenes is to hide loading screens behind? Now with the extra RAM the PS4 offers, NONE of the next-gen releases showcased any loading transitions (indoor/outdoor) that would normally take place last-gen. That, and the native trailer is designed around 60fps... I don't know any game other than SH2 natively runs pre-rendered "cutscenes" in that speed so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

The only ND game that hides loading behind its cut-scenes is Uncharted 1. None of the the others, including TLOU, do that.

p.s. The TLOU remaster is also using pre-rendered cut-scenes, and they have been re-rendered at 60fps.

Why is goofy looking a bad thing?

Yeah, it's subjective. But I think that the DR3 trailer was goofy in a stupid, confusing way. Whereas Sunset Overdrive, for example, was goofy in a cool and clever way.

And it just seems a bit random to mention the DR3 DLC trailer (which looked pretty mediocre graphically) next to the eye-melting, beautiful Uncharted 4.

Well Uncharted isn't a openish game, it's tight and closed, and that's the way Uncharted fans like their uncharted. Leave the scale to Arkham Knight.

Agreed. Not everything needs to go open world.

And hot damn at those visuals! A total Gears of War moment (i.e. The moment the generational leap is undeniably evident).

A globe trotting journey is awesome, but I wouldn't mind if half the game was set on that island.

Can't wait for the E3 2015 stage demo with Bruce Straley.

I didn't sit through a boring 2 hour conference for footage of Drake standing up.

Yeah, I agree. I mean ... we already knew it was coming, and we already know it would look nice considering it's on PS4. It would have been nice to get more than that, especially as it was their big finale. Kinda bummed. :/

Like holy shit, wow, stunning visuals.. I can't wait to see this in motion.

Elana is held captive anf Drake must find a treasure to get her back, Sully tries to help but is injured then dies saving Drake. O give it to me ND..

So is this going to be final art box?

Geez, if I didn't know any better I'd say they're going all in with the newfound grimdark, gritty, mature tone here. That's a bleak, foreboding image. I hope ND don't forgo the lighthearted nature and humour associated with Uncharted for something considerably more serious, because one of the franchise's biggest delights is the constant laughs.

Pretty sure peoples' fears of the "serious tone" are way overblown and concern trolling. Just because they made TLOU doesn't mean they'll make every game as dark as that now. The same dudes made UC2. I mean the initial trailer for UC2 seemed about as dark as this one.

Yeah I feel like people should stop jumping to that conclusion after we've barely seen anything.

These are the visuals I've been waiting for, even moreso than The Order. This is the Metal Gear Solid 2, the Gears of War for 8th gen consoles. I still can't believe they're going with 60fps.

Uncharted 3 teaser had him alone in the desert. And Sully didn't sound particularly dark at all.

Oh hey, it's the chronic regurgitator of "inside info" that actually originates from other people. thuway knows nothing. He doesn't even understand ND's usual bull-lingo. "In-engine" is what they have always said when talking about their pre-rendered cut-scenes. When this trailer started playing I was anxiously waiting for it to dynamically shift into gameplay. But of course, it never happened.

No it's really not. Both characters state huge death flags with the whole "once last time", the Bible quote, and dead guys everywhere. This is much darker than that UC2 trailer you linked. Don't forget that subtitle.

2015 is going to be amazing. Super fucking hyped for this after expecting that it wouldn't even show up/be delayed into 2016. HYPE.

It could work if it's his last adventure. It probably won't be as serious as The Last of Us of course but I can see it handling more darker tones but still have a lot of light hearted moments.

Looks incredible! I just wish we saw some actual gameplay footage, not just in engine cut scene stuff. I guess with it probably being the big fall 2015 blockbuster, that'll wait until E3 next year.

Part III had a subtitle like Part I (use of Drake in the title), and now Part IV has a subtitle like Part II (use of Thief in the title), so they're probably going to try and be more like Part II which makes sense with the Druckmann/Stanley coming back on to the franchise.

You guys are crazy to not think its going to look mind blowingly good. Just look at UC2, the game was made on shit hardware and still holds up to this day. They have way better hardware to work with AND they are wizards. Its going to blow minds when gameplay is revealed.

in engine. Not in game.

The Order was in engine too from the reveal, remember that? Now have you seen what it looks like lately?

should have put their money where their mouth is and just showed a crosshair and hud right before it cut to black.

imagine the huge pop in the audience too.

Look how he pressed the sand with his wet forearm and thus making the pressured sand area wet too. Better dream to get such details even in movies, let alone games.

Look at how his nose and mouth are dipping water strings so realistically.

I agree. I hope Druckmann and Straley realize this.

Alright, ND? If you're listening (and can still drastically change the structure of the game and its casting with short notice):

Retcon the death of
Eddy Raja
from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
He's the best villain so far
and these types of pulp adventure/action games need more
returning antagonists
, especially ones that are more
rival-y
.

thank you for your time ND
