Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (Naughty Dog) Shown - 2015

Someone dies. (Elena / Sully)

Nate is on a quest to find something that brings them back to life.

Lots of flashbacks to happier times / wise things said.

Doesn't find it / Finds it but it doesn't work as advertised.

Everyone's sad.

The End.

Going by what ND did in the past with these 'in engine' trailers, the game will look significantly worse.

WOW! This is the first "next-gen" game that has actually impressed me! Maybe I will get a PS4 after all when this releases (as long as Sony has dropped the price lower than the current $449 in Canada)

I know you're joking, but I would actually be okay with something like this.

We'll see. I don't think they would put 60fps out there if they couldn't reach the fidelity in that trailer.

It's all speculation and I'm always amused at everyone being an authority and throwing their armchair programming knowledge around (myself included). Next year will give us a firm idea of what these consoles can do.

Yeah. The original Uncharted was a huge graphical jump over the first year of releases and it even got better from there. If Uncahrted 4 can look this good I cant even fathom what TLOU2 or whatever their newly announced game will look like.

Yeah it boggles my mind just trying to think about it

So when are we expecting this? I know the trailer said 2015, but when first half or second half of 2015?

Maybe they will shoot for June like TLOU even though that was due to delays, but can have fall as a fallback. I feel like there has to be some cushion since they don't want all of their games to keep getting delays announced.

at 60 FPS, he moves so normally, made hum feel so human, I cna safely say that this the first 3D project that reached the first step to bypass the uncanny valley and it is a honour for us gamers to be a game that idi it INGAME even bfroe CGI movies.

I still have mixed feelings on having a new Uncharted.
On the one hand, I'm glad to see more of the characters and more ND is always a good thing.
On the other hand, I kind of wish they'd cut Nate in two onscreen just to make sure there's not another sequel because by the end of 3, I felt the series had run its course.

Bahahaha idk if you already knew this and this was part of your joke but greg miller (gave U3 a 10) was asked what he thought about this game and he said its a 10.

That's what I was referring to. It was funny. I only report the hard facts here. I woulda linked the video but idk if they archive their streams.

I do hope the gameplay isn't identical to the old Uncharted's at least. I'm not asking for a radical change, like going open world or anything. Keep it a linear, cinematic adventure, but I would really like something to mix things up a bit. I'll still buy, and likely love it, if it's just same old Uncharted, but for their first game on a new system, and the 4th game in the series, I think it's time to add/change some things.

Tbh that looked a lot more like a tech demo and I doubt the final game will have even cutscenes coming close to that.
Still impressive though.

I'm really concerned about Druckman's ego and Naughty Dog getting it's head up it's own ass after TLOU. Sure hope the inevitable gritty tone doesn't turn into a cringe fest.

This "concern" is hilarious.

I'm sure Neil Druckman and Bruce Straley have a pretty firm grip on what the Uncharted franchise is all about, considering their past key rolls on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2. For fuck's sake, Straley was the co-director of Uncharted 2. Do people think these guys only did TLOU?

It's hilarious, because that's exactly what some people said about Uncharted 3 and the sand scene.

Yeahhh, don't doubt the Dogs.

Disappointed about it being a teaser, but that looks like a generation ahead of most developers, it's insane. Big surprise that they are even targeting 60fps also.

Thanks man, I was concerned that the game was going to be too dark but it's just the debut trailer. I really didn't remember U2 debut being so grim either!

Yeah 2&3's debut trailers were dark and full of drama to get you hooked. The full games obviously had a much broader tonal spectrum and I expect the same from this game; plenty of quips and humor to go with the serious drama.

I've never done this before but didn't see anyone make one so MS paint. Someone please do a version that doesn't suck.

The Sony conference was decent but I just had a feeling they would end with Uncharted 4. Good lord this is the first trailer that actually hyped me up the entire day (Arkham Knight was pretty cool too hearing Kevin Conroys voice once again).

Day fucking one for this game. And 1080p/60fps? Naughty Gods indeed.

Strange, I expected more. Character model is of course fantastic, but too much depth of field blur to judge the rest (although you can see they are not really going for maximum realism on environment). Hope they go the same way as with Driveclub and drop that 60fps target in favor of the best possible graphics.

That 60 fps trailer made my eyes teary. There is no way the PS4 is capable of that. Sure, stuff like AI and all sorts of normal real time gamey stuff is missing, but it's still very impressive.
You just wait till E3 2016. You eyes will bleed sparkles n rainbows, guaranteed.

Ok guys, so I haven't played Uncharted since the original. Were 2 and 3 that good to send hype levels for 4 through the roof? Also, were 2 and 3 kind of on rails like 1? Not that it's a bad thing I'm just wondering how the series evolved. I'm prob going to pick this up when it hits and youtube the story up to this point in the series.

They're pretty linear, but they are on another level from #1, especially Uncharted 2.

and people were talking about next gen not delivering in terms of graphics. get the fuck outta here.

Strange, I have always been one to say next gen is capable of much more than we have seen until today, but now I am hoping this is not close to what Naughty Dog will deliver when they max out the PS4.

You need to do yourself a favor and play 2 immediately.

Not talking about you specifically of course, the forum is filled with many different people.

Onky talking about single player, 2 and 3 got more impressive set pieces, more locations and more cinematic gaming moments. I don't think it actually evolved that much - which was fine for me.

Everyone's sad.

The End.

I know Naughty Dog did a fantastic job with The Last of Us, but I really don't want Uncharted to be any more depressing. Its supposed to be a fun pulpy action adventure series. If it gets sad and introspective, I'm more than happy with that, but if that ends up taking over from the fun and wit and lightheartedness, I just don't know how much I'd like that.

And if Sully dies there will be hell to pay.

Dude. Play Uncharted 2.

Seems implied this is the end of the series. The mood is right.

You sound salty. Can't compare Witcher 3 seeing as it looks amazing and has the scale on it's side, it's a proper next gen game.

Not salty at all. I think Witcher 3 looks phenomenal. It's just amazing how good ND is with console hardware and you'd think we'd have seen PC games with this fidelity sooner if PC was so much more powerful.
