PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Not a single Vita noteworthy vita game in development. Sad to see a great piece of hardware limp to an early grave.

It's amazing how, while it's talked about as a "key pillar they plan on supporting" (or something like that), that the hardware has been relegated to a PS4 accessory SKU and is of less importance now than the Playstation Camera.

i think i was dreaming or something but did i hear Tales of borderlands is also coming to Vita?

Why wouldn't it be. Telltale put TWD on Vita, it probably performed decent as I believe that they're also putting TWD Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us out on Vita eventually. So doing their next "big" IP on Vita as well doesn't seem like much of a surprise to me.

You guys want some Vib Ribbon? Well TOO BAD here's some Mortal Kombat instead, looking as bland as ever.

Keep on drinkin' that haterade, man.
Seeing gameplay footage MKX was about the *only* thing from the Sony conference that caught my attention other than the fact that GTA V is coming to PC.
I missed the Bloodborne footage, but from what I was told, it was all just CG with the stuff that already leaked (at least mostly).

So yeah, other than that, the Sony presser was a total bust for me and Sony did almost nothing to get me interested in a PS4 and failed me when it comes to supporting Vita.

I'm usually filled with intense dislike of MS products and tend to be harsher on them than the others, but so far, at least they provided a bunch of wins for their core demographic.

I attempted to keep track of every Vita game mention, did I miss any you guys noticed?

  1. Broforce
  2. Disney Infinity 2
  3. Entwined
  4. Grim Fandango Remaster
  5. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
  6. Not a Hero
  7. Tales from the Borderlands
  8. Tetris Ultimate
  9. Titan Souls

Did they ever announce a date for the Ratchet and Clank Vita collection for the US? I know Europe got a date for mid July or something like that

How are they gonna run DI2 on vita? Dont you need the peripheral AND the toys to get the characters?

Tetris Ultimate info via Polygon:
Tetris Ultimate, Blue Planet Software's multi-mode version of the classic puzzle game will launch on PlayStation Vita in fall, Sony announced during E3 2014.

The downloadable game supports 1-4 players who can battle cascading blocks in six different modes. Battle is a head-to-head skirmish, Endless involves players scoring as much as they can in 30 levels and Marathon consists of 15 levels. Power-Up Battle equips players with powers, while Ultra is a three-minute timed challenge and Sprint involves clearing 40 lines as quickly as possible.

The Tetris Company and Ubisoft announced in January that the franchise was also headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer and PC this fall for the game's 30th anniversary.

Did you want to include any of the free to play titles? Some have been announced already though.

  1. GUNS UP!
  2. Fat Princess: Piece of Cake
  3. BigFest
  4. My Singing Monsters

I fully agree, but removing the Vita branding from the Vita TV was really a dick move.

Agree. But you can't blame them. By now they know most console gamers in the west despise their portable, so better not associate any other product with it.

i think gamescom is more the Vita´s place to shine , last year was great on gamescom. Vita´s boot was huge.

Don't forget TGS. Type-0 HD and FFXII HD believe!

Barely anything for Vita as many said, which is the only one of their platforms I have now. :(

Would've adored a new Jak & Daxter for Vita by Sony Bend on Vita (after doing Golden Abyss) or Ratchet as they also did Resistance: Retribution on PSP.

You Vita jerks better get Grim Fandango, to finally have an actual quality game to play along with all that moeslut and loliwhore shit games you play.

What is up with the lack of R&C Vita Collection for the US? It will assuredly come out around the early July European launch date, right?

Edit: my bad, just saw the above

Ps4 e3 games are up for preorder. I grabbed uncharted and bloodborne. I cannot wait. Bloodborne was also listed as a spring 2015 title

I'm divided if I should get Ys: Memories for my Vita or not while it's on sale for $30 from Eb games.

On one hand many people list it as one of the must have games for the system, but after playing Ys 1+2 Chronicles recently and dying constantly against one of the bosses near the end of Ys 1 to the point I gave up on the game entirely I'm not sure I want to bother now since that experience has pretty much soured me towards the series.

Wish some Canadian Retailer would list Tales of Hearts already so I could get it as part of some e3 deal, any discount is better then no discount.

Really hoping they don't charge more then $40 here in Canada for Sword art online when it comes out since they aren't going to be releasing a physical version of it.

Eh if you don't want to use up memory on your card, get retail. Otherwise get it digital.
it's an Ys game. It's worth your money.

So, card battle games and beat 'em ups.
This. Apparently, card battle games and beat 'em ups are the reason why the Vita is failing.

RIP in peace.

In all seriousness, I happen to like Senran Kagura. I have Shinovi Versus on preorder. People like you who judge games based on appearances alone are the real problem here, not those who like what you call 'moeslut' games.

I would also like to direct you to Persona 4 Golden, Danganronpa, and Virtue's Last Reward. Not moeslut, not loliwhore, all awesome.

So, card battle games and beat 'em ups.

Card battle games and beat'em ups plagued with ridiculous otaku padding character designs which I categorize as moesluts and loliwhores.
The genre doesn't matter, it's the fact that said genres HAVE these designs unnecessarily just to have it sell and get a certain demograph interested in it that I can't take seriously or appreciate.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Hey guys !! That Sony Presser was pretty good (except for some missing Vita stuff) even the Vita got a decent amount of stealth mentions. Gonna go pick up a PSN Card for Entwined tomorrow morning.

Man what a disappointment, even if i was hoping for the best i was expecting a bad show for Vita, but man that was a new low!

Other than the non-existent lineup of Vita games(everything is on PS3 or PS4 too), what totally surprised me was the "Playstation TV" name, it's the worst thing ever not only as a great lover of Vita, if you want to ditch "Vita" than replace it with a fitting name, honestly if you didn't know about Vita Tv what would you think a "Playstation Tv" is? A PS1 console? A Playstation branded Tv receiver? "Tv" alone is utterly stupid because as a home console the tv is already implicit, "Tv" made sense in "Vita Tv" because Vita is a handheld.

Imo the entire Sony conference was a let down though, the megaton Project Beast was leaked time ago with some gameplay while the e3 reveal had only CG, the only thing we learned about it was the name, Grim Fandango HD No Man's Sky and others are not Playstation exclusive etc, LBP3 is a very standard sequel, zero creativity, developers should have taken advantage of the generational jump to make big changes, i guess that the creative core of Media Molecule was working on Tearaway when LBP3 started :p
Lots of f2p games too...

Imo a very bad conference overall.

so when is gamescom Vita?
People stop waiting for a conference that will make Vita shine, in Gamecom SCEE maybe will show a new medium game and some indies, nothing big, in Japan SCEJ already has many big games(Freedom Wars, Oreshika, Gravity Rush 2 if it's still for Vita and maybe others) i don't think that there will be many new games.

We can only rely on normal announcements from (japanese)third parties for new medium/big games.

My retail Vita games are:
Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Persona 4 Golden, Toukiden, DanganRonpa 1 and FFX HD
Other than that Ys games, MGS, PSP, PSX games, various Indie games released over the past year or two.
I don't have my Vita on me or I could've posted screenshots of it's pages with its 100+ games.
I still have various other games uninstalled since my 64 GB is full heh.

Kinda bummer that they didn't pay much attention for Vita at E3. Oh well at least some Japanese games would continue to be released (and localized).
BTW, just heard that FIFA 15 will have Vita version again (at Japanese EA).

On the bright side this is the most mentions of the Vita since launch conference at E3.

On the other side, it's been so long since the Vita has been mentioned that the damage has already been done in NA.

It seems SCEA is trying to position the Vita TV and Vita for kids with minecraft, disney infinity, indie games and so on.
