E3 2014 | Nintendo Digital Event

These digital events are much better than live press conferences. This was Nintendo's best showing in years.

My bet is that the 3DS game being revealed at the developer roundtable is Majora's Mask 3D, since Ocarina of Time 3D was also revealed at a roundtable and not during a conference. Probably wrong though.

Sony: 6
MS: 6
Nintendo: 4

Possibly one of the most underwhelming E3 ever.

I would score Sony slightly above MS, just because of No Man's Sky, which is the most interesting game I've seen at any E3 in a loooooong time. However, they opened with Destiny, which I still think looks boring and shitty. Their first party games still underwhelm compared to what Microsoft had. So give Sony a 7/10.

IMO, Nintendo showed a bunch of stuff today that isn't going to sell Wii Us to anybody. The Bayonetta package will make approximately 10k people (half of them GAF frequent flyers) very, very happy. The single compelling game Nintendo showed that can sell Wii Us was Zelda, which is a 2015 joint.

Good luck, dudes. I'm glad I sold my Wii U last year while it was still worth something.

Pretty awesome things on display, but I'm so disappointed in the absence of sports games. Nintendo make them like noone, they are my favorite titles from this company. Why no Wave Race, FZero, Excite, 1080, Mario Strikers? They are so missing :-/

They would rather you buy a competitors product than make those games.

Another bad E3 conference. Thought Nintendo could save the show.

Too bad it's an all CG bullshot film. So disapointed.

Nintendo never does bullshots for Zelda. Every Zelda tease they have been showing through the years are in-game. So this is how the new Zelda game will look like :)

New Star Fox?

And the third project? A game Nintendo fans have been waiting for a very long time to see: Star Fox is back, only reimagined on the Wii U using Miyamoto’s new GamePad-based controls — controls that’ll ask of players things they’ve never had to do before in a video game. Whether they’ll come willing or balk remains to be seen, but Miyamoto is convinced he’s on to a control scheme that’s not only novel, but with practice, indispensable.

Once the action started it was 100% aparent we were watching a film. No way will the game look and control like that.

He jumped off a horse, pulled out a bow and arrow and shot the robot in mid air. You really think that is in game?

Doesn't mean it'll play out like that, but the cutscenes have always been in-game. We'll know what it looks like next year.

I'm the only one that expected another art style for new Zelda? Something maybe dark?

This "new" Zelda, they is using the same engine from Skyward Sword, but now on HD.
So that's way it will look that is something new.

Yeah... how disappointing.
I wanted something more like this:

No Metroid Prime 4, Wave Race U, F-Zero UX, 1080 U, Majoras Mask 3DS,...

You had your chance Nintendo...

Bye bye Wii U...

You expected three variations on the theme of driving games to be revealed just after Mario Kart was released? If there's any of those, I wouldn't expect them until next year.

Wow how long has Itagaki and his team been working on this game there is no excuse for Devil's Third to look so rough and early :(

You don't appear to know the difference between "gameplay" and "in-game". The latter implies that it was running in the game engine and not pre-rendered (which the Zelda trailer clearly was - as it always is with Zelda reveals). The former implies its someone actually playing the game (which it wasn't, for the reasons you mentioned)
It's possible it could be an in engine cutscene. Just because other Zeldas have done this doesn't mean we should assume this game follows that trend. My point was that it wasn't actual gameplay.

With MArio PArty 10, and Devil 3rd exclusive, I dont really believe we can judge Nintendo yet

They said 23 more hours in the treehouse stream, and we still have the smash invitational and est of the treehouse @E3 to go

E3 for me so far

MS presentation: 2 maybe 3 games
Sony's: 1 and a multiplat
Nintendo' E3 so far: with devils 3rd and Star Fox also, too many to count

I would much rather have a new game over a remake. Majora's Mask is fine as is and I can play it right now. No need to have a 3DS version considering how much resources Nintendo uses to do remakes. Look at how long and how much money was spent on Windwaker HD.

1. Grezzo would do it, not Nintendo
2. Grezzo made OOT 3D, and Majora's Mask has pretty much the same graphics and assets so it's not like they're creating an entirely different game

I'm pretty sure it's already done though. Just waiting for announcements.

Seriously don't understand Nintendo, there were plenty of new games and upcoming trailer compiliations they could have put into the Digital Event instead of the the silly skits. They could have cut down on the "Why we are making this" stuff too and have that stuff go up after (like all these new announcements).

They have the Digital Event streamed out to so many people, all eyes on them and they decide to leave out a bunch of announcements and a trailer compilation that shows good third party support form indies and digital titles but instead focus have comedy skits and internet memes...

I don't understand Nintendo at all.

Nintendo was really good. Sad that most of it was for 2015 though. People need to keep in mind that everything that Nintendo showed is exclusive to Nintendo, unlike the pressers from Microsoft and Sony.

First E3 in a long time where I haven't been particularly interested in a single thing shown. Every press conference seemed like a scramble to show off products not even remotely near completion (or barely in production) due to everyone being caught with their pants down.

Nintendo only announcing 1 new title out earlier than 2015 didn't stand out because everyone was doing it. Ending the whole thing on a Smash character announcement that was basically already leaked though? That was pathetic, you end on a show stopper or a teaser of something that will get people talking.

That said it wasn't anywhere near the worst (mostly thanks to Kirby), so Nintendo get a passing grade.

Anyone download the whole event or have a link to a download? Would like to watch it later with people who have no internet.

all in all, the best conference. A new Metroid would have massacred it but I cant complain, my bank account is already fucking crying

I love what Grezzo did. They touched up the visuals and made better menus but kept the original game engine intact. They never overstepped their boundaries. A great example of how porting should be.
