Not feeling the trailer at all. The graphics look hideous to me, I guess I got the wrong impression from the initial reveal of this game.

The characters models looked fine when they were rendered at a low resolution on Wii. Now in HD they just don't do it for me, they feel strange to the point of being distracting.

Hype deflated on my end, though I'll still look out for a review. Coupled with a delay, I wonder if I'll ever get enough compulsion to pick up a Wii U.

Edit: Nintendo just showed live gameplay, which gives me a better impression of the game's graphics. Character models are still disappointing however.

I'm so confused by all the reactions saying "my hype is deflated", "looks worse than the reveal", etc. Their faces look bad yeah, as they did in the very first trailer, and as they did in Xenoblade. This reminds me of how everyone was down on the UI and gameplay that was shown in the Direct earlier this year, even though that very same UI and gameplay was present in the reveal trailer. People got really short memories.

Anyways, this is the story trailer we've been waiting for to put to rest the fears of it being some online-only game like some thought it might be.

Also, NOPON ARE BACK >:)

I know it's probably already been posted, but damn, those character models were absolutely terrible. No excuse for that nonsense. Just....bad.

I'm not sure if people are serious or trolling me when they say that that original trailer and this trailer look identical.

What I don't understand is what are you using as your base of comparison?

In order for you to compare, each trailer will have to show these things in common
Character faces
Exploration
Gameplay
Cutscenes

They share non of these things other than the short intro in the 2013 trailer which I guess you could call a cutscene.

That's a unique concept. I'm curious to see where they go with that. I'm also glad because I'm usually indifferent to Takahashi's lead protagonists and care more for the supporting cast.
I agree, it's not a huge loss. Fei was the only protagonist of his I actually liked, but even then the supporting cast was better.

I think the area at the end of the trailer is located on the hilt of a giant Monado-like blade, in the ring section where the symbols used to appear.

The part where the marquee billboard says "Morris Chausson Speaks At Blade Tower" is another hint. Then they zoom out and it's a giant ring shaped island.

I also loved the Nopon at the end.

Xenoblade was a good game which I enjoyed but I didn't think it was as good as some (a lot?) on here make it out to be. The trailer for this one looked really nice though. Had more of a saga/slight gears feel to it which I personally like more.

I'll be getting this game fore sure though no matter what.

Ehh, I'm usually not into characters you design yourself in RPGs. I mean, for story-heavy RPGs. Hopefully it won't be like White Knight Chronicles where your character doesn't talk and really is just in the background the entire time - that was awkward. I hope the character you make actually has a voice and talks.

What the hell happened? The game looked great in the first trailer. What happened to everyone's faces?

The faces look pretty much the same as the very first trailer with that Shulk lookalike. What's your point?

This game will probably score pretty well unless they majorly screw something up (I doubt it). Xenoblade has a 92 on Metacritic.

Ok, let me clarify this.

We all know from the story trailer, this will have offline Single Player mode (Yeah!!!)

But we don't have online on this game?

It's cool with me btw. I just thought there will be offline and online.

My point is that the character models look like shit. They must have hid it well in the earlier trailers.

Not really. There was a huge close-up at the end of the first trailer:

Did some people miss this the first time around?

Same as always, nothing has changed.

"Players can customize everything about the main character’s appearance, including gender, shapes, height, skin color, voice and tattoos."

Yay!

Graphics look downgraded and the faces... well...I'm still hyped.

Massive areas to explore... check!
Detailed environments... check!
Lots going on at once... check!
Xenoblade battle system... check!
Sequel to the best JRPG in years... check!
Faces aren't detailed enough... nope not interested any more.

No wonder much of the industry is stagnating and full of fancy-looking, simplistic, boring games :(

LMAO at those complained about graphic.
That's why Vaporware XV never released.
I just hope this get simultaneous worldwide release.

This. As long as story/game play are up to par, I am more than willing to sacrifice graphics to get this out in a timely manor.

I personally think this trailer is way better then the first one. The first one looked pretty yes, but that was pretty much the only thing it had going for it. The trailer made it seem like MH with mechs. This new trailer completely reinvigorated my hype. I loved everything, the Japanese voices, the character designs, even the cheesy Japanese acronym, took me right back to the PS2 era.

2015 sucks hard but cant wait.

OG xenoblades faces were worse

You're focusing on the wrong things. The character models look bad, yes, but this has nothing to do with the world that they focused on in the first two trailers. Like I posted above, the character model in the first trailer looks identical to the ones in this trailer.

Like Xenoblade, expect the character models to be bad but the world to look great.
Yes, they look bad... and noticeably worse. Which is why I don't really get how people keep saying they're the same... (The overall visuals look somewhat less impressive, but that's a more intangible feeling that may be tied to these not particularly good faces and models.) Maybe I am focusing on the wrong things, I suppose, but my eyes are simply drawn to the ugly character models.
Nobody's trolling you. You're just seeing things that aren't there.
Then apparently I've joined some sort of collective consciousness existing across the ether that simultaneously sees the same things...

yep, people are acting crazy :/

Updated the OP with the Fact Sheet. It confirms a fully customizable player character. A first for Takahashi's games.

Hmm, not sure how I feel about this. As long as there's a default canon look like with ME's Shepard I'm okay with it I guess.

This is as big a hyperbole as anyone's comment on the faces. Literally no one has said they aren't interested anymore due to the faces, just commenting on how they think they look.

I think the faces look stupid as all hell and will express my opinion, but I'm still excited for the game. Probably getting a Wii U for it after all.

Oh come on now, when was the last time you played an N64 game? I hate how people always overexaggerate when they don't like a game's artstyle.
I don't think it is an art style problem at all. Kunihiko Tanaka is one of my personal favorite character designers, and I'm not pleased with the 3D models at all.

the graphics are serviceable, but i can why people are saying it looks bad. compared to what could have been acheived on ps4 or even xbone, it does look like shit. however, the delay to 2015 could be a good thing. by then the wii u should be pretty cheap, so picking one up for this game only won't be as painful.

Not really. There was a huge close-up at the end of the first trailer:
I guess it's just a lot more obvious now that we can see the models clearly and animated.

They look like porcelain anime dolls. It's a year away from launch though, so hopefully they can fix it.

I was so hyped, convinced that this game was gonna make me buy a Wii-U .... but then that trailer, like what the hell has happened .....
Biggest disappointment of E3 for me :(

This is exactly what I wanted. Proof that yes, this game will be story based with cut-scenes and characters. I'd like to see anyone try and say it looks like a Monster Hunter MMO now.

The character models look pretty bad, this is true, but it assures me that they're putting the focus on the environments, where it matters the most. Just like Xenoblade.

Also, I didn't see anything in that trailer that suggests it won't look like the previous gameplay we've seen.
