Man what a disappointment, even if i was hoping for the best i was expecting a bad show for Vita, but man that was a new low!

Other than the non-existent lineup of Vita games(everything is on PS3 or PS4 too), what totally surprised me was the "Playstation TV" name, it's the worst thing ever not only as a great lover of Vita, if you want to ditch "Vita" than replace it with a fitting name, honestly if you didn't know about Vita Tv what would you think a "Playstation Tv" is? A PS1 console? A Playstation branded Tv receiver? "Tv" alone is utterly stupid because as a home console the tv is already implicit, "Tv" made sense in "Vita Tv" because Vita is a handheld.

Imo the entire Sony conference was a let down though, the megaton Project Beast was leaked time ago with some gameplay while the e3 reveal had only CG, the only thing we learned about it was the name, Grim Fandango HD No Man's Sky and others are not Playstation exclusive etc, LBP3 is a very standard sequel, zero creativity, developers should have taken advantage of the generational jump to make big changes, i guess that the creative core of Media Molecule was working on Tearaway when LBP3 started :p
Lots of f2p games too...

Imo a very bad conference overall.

People stop waiting for a conference that will make Vita shine, in Gamecom SCEE maybe will show a new medium game and some indies, nothing big, in Japan SCEJ already has many big games(Freedom Wars, Oreshika, Gravity Rush 2 if it's still for Vita and maybe others) i don't think that there will be many new games.

We can only rely on normal announcements from (japanese)third parties for new medium/big games.
i dont care about new games , if they come ill be happy but im waiting for damn Gravity Rush 2 announcement. Thats all i care for Vita at this moment. Oreshika is a nice game , Freedom wars is good looking but is a MonHun clone and i dont like that, And God eater 2 is another MonHun clone with some story and anime style , not bad but im tired of considering this type of titles big, something big for me would be an infamous vita or a new uncharted. Meanwhile im really waiting for GR2 if this game is not a Vita game ill cry.

Edit: THAT was a really nice video they could show on the conference for Vita , nice reel, im happy now.

I am expecting Gamescom to be a good show for Vita as usual

TGS might be even better since Vita has enjoyed some degree of success and growth in the region

Pumped for what is to come

As bummed as I am about the E3 snuff.... I am still pumped over the current lineup

SCEA won't even spend 2 minutes at the press conference to show a Vita sizzle reel that was already prepared. @_@

Sony always leaves the Vita to the floor at E3, why would anything be different, it is their approach for it. I am saving my thoughts for E3 on Vita until after people walk the floor. Sony never makes a big fuss over the Vita in presentations besides when it launched.

This. E3 ends at the 12th, ffs.

Unless you're in Los Angeles and can play, what good does the show floor presence do for us? This isn't like TGS where Sony inexplicably leaves "major" announcements there. It's just going to be the same stuff we already know of.

Preorders haven't changed right? If I preorder now I get charged right away still? I can't justify giving Sony $60 now for a 2015 game.

Yep. Vita had a big presence with loads of smaller games on E3's show floor last year.

There was a list of the games that Sony Will be showing on the ps blog last week, but nothing that haven't been announced pre E3.

That makes Me wonder about how many of the "100 titles" that we haven't heart of allready. I also notised that they said in developement instead of coming out this year.

Personally I hoped for at least one of five of the games I have on my wishlist to be announced. Gone Home, because it is supposed to come to "consoles", valiant hearts because it's an ubiart game, xcom because it's allready ported to a platform with similar specs as the vita, banner saga because the developers told me on twitter that they were talking with Sony and last but not least hearthstone because it's made with unity 3d, which now supports the Vita.

Oh wow, no more lurking for me? After years of lurking, I finally got my own account running around here. Let me say, I've been a silent watcher of VitaGAF since the Vita that released one week earlier and made everyone get Little Deviants against their better judgement.

I'm present on all the niche companies forums: XSEED, NIS America (mod), (the late) Atlus Forums, Aksys, Idea Factory International, and I'm glad to be present here as well. Thank you all for the Vita work you have been doing for the past couple of years, and I hope to be of use to everyone from here on out.

That's awesome :) welcome!!

that sizzle reel was awesome and it's truly sad that SCEA didn't at least show that off for 2 minutes :/

I get that people might be miffed that the Vita didn't get any screen time at the conference, but I was happy. We got a whole bunch of pleasant surprises on PS4, and I already have too many retail Vita games pre-ordered (One Piece, Senran Kagura, Danganronpa 2 and still waiting on Freedom Wars/Oreshika to pop up). And then there's all the indie games coming out and hopefully the Vita games I backed will release within a year.

I'm divided if I should get Ys: Memories for my Vita or not while it's on sale for $30 from Eb games.

On one hand many people list it as one of the must have games for the system, but after playing Ys 1+2 Chronicles recently and dying constantly against one of the bosses near the end of Ys 1 to the point I gave up on the game entirely I'm not sure I want to bother now since that experience has pretty much soured me towards the series.

Ys Celceta plays differently from chronicles. It's designed from Ys Seven, which has a really fun combat system where you can hot swap between characters. Don't deny yourself from an evolution of the series because of a sour experience from an older port. I'm rounding the last part of Celceta and loving every minute of it.

I have been waiting of getting my mail aproved for al ong time (over one and a half year) but I have most of the core of VitaGAF on my friendslist.

This thread, or to be exact the former Vita thread is what made me sign up for an account here.

I love the Vita and often game on it sitting between my ps3 and my gaming PC. I am planning on buying a ps4 but after yesterdays show I don't really see the point of that yet. I am a plus subscriber and I have P4G. I have chosen to only buy games digitaly so the absence of a 64gb announcement last night or at least a pricedrop of the other memory card was disappointing to me.

The games that I look forward to the most are helldivers, frosen synapse tactics, child of light, swapper, SAO hollow fragment, TWAU, natural doctrine and of course freedom wars.

Right now I am playing SSD, Toukiden, Dragon's Crown, Uncharted FFF and are waiting for the patch for starlight inception and BL2 (I still play them though).

I am not FPS sensitive and as a result of that I finished and enjoyed both epic mickey 2 and Jak1.

You made it to NeoGAF at least, it seems xD

Welcome to new Vitabros! :)

The premise is good, let's hope it will not be a cheap port.

I suppose they could be paying for the port in order to aim at that younger audience Andrew House talked in a interview somebody posted a few pages ago.

And, to be honest, I'm not that unhappy with Vita showing. I mean, at least they've done something. The VitaTV being rebranded was inevitable. At least this conference Sony knew what they wanted to do and did it.

Having a focus is nice IMO. If they get to rebrand it and it starts selling a little better (PSVita or PS TV, who cares) we may see new stuff on the system that could appeal us too, like Garden Warfare, for example.

Well, yeah. But maybe someone nabs some release dates for the shown games (that's all I was expecting from E3, tbh).

And welcome, you!

thank you, I thought this would be the best time to finally be able to post here, but it seems like the only vita related posts I can make are about how we didn't get any announcements. :/

RalchAC: Yes I did :)

edit:

There were at least a couple of games that looked intriguing on that sizzle reel. So at least there's that.

On the other hand, pretty obvious now that it'll take an indie studio to address the dire lack of semi-quality hack-and-slash games on the system. The vita really needs something beyond iOS ports, remote playing Diablo or psp ports in the Untold Legends series. Cancelling Warrior's Lair was such an egregious mistake.

The way this press release is completely skewed to one thing is making me laugh: http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/release/140610d.html
How is this skewed? Even in the propaganda there's no place for Vita, it has to share a paragraph with bundles :(

Man SCEA really hates Vita, the entire conference was almost 2 hours long and they didn't even show a very short and incomplete Vita sizzle reel.

I care, not because of the name obviously, but because they blatantly want to kill "Vita"(in the US) and they are almost there, the games we want are "Vita" games, but for SCEA "Vita" is dead and Playstation Tv is just something to play what already exists and doesn't need investments for new games.
If Playstation Tv will sell then some third party maybe will make some game, but from now on chances of a SCEA making a game for "Vita" are literally zero and i think that in the future we'll see SCEA paying for a even lower number of medium/big ports/exclusives on Vita until they reach zero.
The sooner you ditch the hope for SCEA's support the better will be imo.

Grim Fandango on Vita? Right into my veins, please. I've been meaning to get back to that game for years. I'll pick that up day one.

Well, Vita-wise the conference has been incredibly and unsurprisingly disappointing.
The reason why they decided to show f2p shit instead of Freedom Wars, OreShika or any other game coming this year, even in a fucking montage, is beyond human comprehension but still, Tretton left at the end of march so I'll give Layden the benefit of the doubt and wait until next E3 before I'll start to think that SCEA, as a whole, is unsalvageable.

Thankfully Gamescom is around the corner.

I never talked about SCEA supporting it with new exclusives. I'm not that delusional. The idea of targeting a younger audience was SCEE plan with the PSP and they've continúed with it during the pasta year. América is probably collaborating a little with that idea now... Or maybe just showing it? Who knows.

What I meant with support is that if it finds a proper audience among kids we may see games targeted at that audience that we like too. Garden Warfare was an example because it's a game targeted at that audience that interests to some people here.

Honestly it is hard to accept that the Vita will be fairly barren in regards to new content from 1st and 3rd party, I have been constantly trying to get over buyers remorse and having the device's mission statement get changed by sony from a standalone game machine to that of a companion.

I am excited for Hearts R in English and hope Sony has a booth for the additional Vita 2k colors on the floor. I am curious to see how TPP with remote play handles and if Konami will devote time to a decent control scheme or allow for your own mappings, the latter needs to happen for all remote play games.

Still doesn't excuse the fact that they wouldn't even spend 2 minutes on a sizzle reel to get current Vita owners excited during the conference when they've done it every year before this. There were no new Vita retail announcements this year either. This must be a new low even for SCEA.

Ok, we are more or less saying the same things.

Too bad in the US Vita is forced to get games with its own strength without the help of SCEA(or should i say with the opposition of SCEA?)

Welcome to VitaGAF.

I joined recently too, but after all the lurking I've done since E3 2013 it feels like I've already been here a long time.

Sent a request.

Edit: An aside, but I enjoyed that Nintendo digital event. If it wasn't for their policy on region locking and accounts I'd probably get a Wii U.

Still sad that Vita had almost nothing. I understand that they had to show that "Powers" stuff, but that was way, way too long, half of that could've been Vita and pacing would be better.

About the announcements, Grim Fandango will be cool, though, and I hope the port is fine.

Edit: Will probably buy a Wii U after this ND, my monitor just died and I don't have enough money for a PS4 and a new screen. Luckily for me almost everything that I want from the PS4 is 2015 (Bloodborne, UC4, The Order). I will miss Destiny though.

WiiU and a Vita, what a pair. Keeping my tradition of having the underdogs.

Good lord.
What's stopping Nintendo from putting out a slew of Waifu games?

Anyway. Grabbed Ys Velveeta or whatever they called it.
It's the SE but missing the soundtrack for whatever reason. Still for less than $30 I can't complain.
Also snagged Conception 2 for sub $30.

Thanks ebay.

I'm still watching the Nintendo event but imo Nintendo has already won the e3(and i don't have a single Nintendo console, gameboy apart), it's really hard for me to get excited for some teaser trailer, no matter the game, Nintendo instead shows almost only gameplay and that's what everyone should do.

It did, but that was a mini-game compilation developed by another company. It probably didn't sell to expectations.
That and it was just plain bad. It was an horrible Mario Party clone and the mini-games had not charm ..or fun.The figures served no purpose. The "portal" is nice, since it's a smaller version... have it as a display of sorts with to figurines over it. :p

Glad the Vita is getting a proper version at least.

Has Smash Bros ever had any animated cutscenes before? I wonder if that animation wasn't produced just for the event, but is a lead in to something bigger.
Nintendo released animated shorts though the release of Kid Icarus Uprising; as part of the promotion of the game.
