E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

This is amusing! And has been said, it's really great how natural the stream is. Really is such a refreshing change from all the painfully awkward stage demos from the other conferences.

Interesting... Could be amazing, could be average, all depends on how the execution feels, I think.

It's crude but I can see the potential. I like the view you get on the Gamepad screen, looks much less awkward than seeing the robot move in third person. If they work this up into a full game then I'm sure they will make a lot of improvements.

Sounds like building the actual robot is part of the concept, it could be fun as a Spore type creation game where you just play through a bunch of wacky missions and battle online.

It's essentially an HD version of this:

Looks like another cool e-shop multiplayer title similar to steel diver: sub wars. With that said, project robot needs a very low entry point, maybe even F2P.

I'm wondering if you're supposed to hold the Wii controller vertical. Why is his robot constantly looking down at the ground?

Giant Robo looks so interesting. I like how the controls are purposefully clunky. I do hope that you can change the sensitivity of the gyro controls. I can see the game straining your body after a while. Looks like you can play in on the couch as well, since gyros calculate relative movement.

looks really bad. Not sure who this game is for

It looks too hard and complicated for a casual gamer and it looks wayyyy too gimmicky for a hardcore gamer.

Miyamoto =/

this robot game looks like utter dross, im really scared miyamoto has lost it

just show starfox already!

Game looks like nothing more than an early tech demo, and not particularly fun or smooth. Reminds me of QWOP.

Is this seriously what Miyamoto has been up to? I can see why Iwata relegated his stuff out of the Digital Event.

well yeah.

It's not close to being done.

They said they will show things in early development...

well here it is.

This could be interesting with a ton of polish.

Really hoping this makes it into an actual game. It would make for a nice and intense downloadable multiplayer title.

the thing is that nintendo usually makes this kind of demos and then they build on top of those demos if they are working. sometimes it workes sometime it doesnt.

for example stage debut became the miis and then tomodachi collection, which is a full realization of the concept
the steel driver demo on DS became the 3DS game steel driver and finally sub wars, which is also a full realization of the concept.

Looks a bit like "Trying to walk on ketamine: the game" lol

Still I admire his creativity as ever, even if it is maybe a bit too rough right now.

This is also why companies are hesitant to show products far away from release. "Omg GameCube graphics lololol" "why would I pay 60€ for this!!!" "looks clunky :( I'm afraid of this".

It looks to me like this game would need 2 gamepads for multi-player.

Exactly. Nintendo said, before Wii U was launched, that they would eventually have support for 2 gamepads once they revealed it and got the obvious feedback that only 1 controller is super limiting.

They haven't said anything about it yet so maybe I'm way off base and they are just hoping people forget about it :(
