E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

They're good ideas, just very basic.

Miyamoto saying the idea for Guard beginning during the N64 era reminds me of when he said they often had ideas at Nintendo that didn't come to fruition that they would file away until the day came they were able to resolve whatever the obstacle was. Seems as though Miyamoto has been raiding that filing cabinet of late!

Yep, she said Xenoblade Chronicles Ecks. Who on earth thought it would be Xenoblade Chronicles Cross? That's just silly.

It needs punches, ya know? It needs impact instead of just holding one's arm out hoping the other robot will fall over.

But that's the entire point of the game. Think sumo, not Street Fighter -- it's about balance (or lack thereof) not impact. Actually, it kind of reminds me of that game you play at the pool, where someone gets on your shoulders and you try to topple the opposite team. (Chicken fight?) I think it looks like a lot of fun, especially if they get the online right.

Not huge on tower defense games, but hey looks like a pretty novel execution of the concept to me.

Well, he became cautious and didn't want to show a big IP like Starfox in early stage so the internet will not trash it. Good move.
Of course, I'm a bit dispointed but I understand.

Some Japanese games with the "X" in their names were meant to be pronounced "Cross" when said aloud, but some people seem to take that too literally and apply it to all games with an X in the title.

At least, that's what I think happened.

I've only ever seen the "Cross" used when it was two properties set against one another, like SF X Tekken.

This.
Sometimes I think some people on Neogaf dont know how games are actually made, if they only asked questions to understand, that would be fine, but they act like my stubborn father when he doesn't understand things and think he know more than the rest.

this is the most accurate description i've heard yet of those kinds of people.

I just can't believe that they threw away a Starfox megaton for next E3 like that and didn't even show a single bit of it.

Why the hell would you do that? It wasn't like they had a lack of announcements - Nintendo had their best show in years, they did great? So why blow the Starfox announcement? Makes no sense.
