The Digital Direct did NOT focus on the gamepad. Their major success on the Wii U, MK8, does NOT use the Gamepad for anything of importance. Miyamoto is the last holdout, and judging by those demos he's really struggling with it.

Especially considering that the Giant Robot demo is really only using the accelerometer -- that could have been accomplished on the Wii.

The pad probably makes switching cameras a little easier in Project Guard, but it's not like you couldn't just cycle through them with a D-pad.

It was a joke. I was making a joke that when Nintendo says "full development", they mean it, but when Sony says it, they are hiding that the game has been cancelled because they don't want negative press on the Eve of the biggest industry show of the year.

I love when the gamepad is used and it isn't forced.

Zelda will use it for something simple like inventory which will be very nice (even if it is simple)

Other simple uses like in Splatoon are cool. Tap your partner on the map and you fly to their location.
