What's your agenda here? She is making a video outright giving false information, claiming to know things she doesn't. It's not as you've spun it that she just has "lack of knowledge", she's outright pretending to know and telling us misinformation about stuff that is already widely known, like PP is not set directly after GZ. She passes it off as "speculating". Nice.
 
Umm... just watched the trailer. HOLY. SHIT. And I thought BLoodboren was awesome...

The base component looks great. We didn't get any open world stuff here, did we?

i can agree with the fact that the person on twitter should not make personal attacks, however it did fall on ign's lap. They have been on the hot seat this week with a lot of weak stories, crappy journalism etc. They deff should have gotten someone with Metal Gear knowledge to do the rewind, I would have avoided Greg as well because he thinks Eli is Raiden etc. I would say faults on both accounts person on twitter should not insult, but ign did put this on themselves, especially for being a highly "credible" gaming website

My agenda? My agenda is to not be on the side of some fuckwit who attacks another person over something as completely unimportant as a video game.

The big reveal for the demo, though, was that Mother Base is now a place, not just a menu to manipulate. As you gather resources and build your army, you’ll build up the mid-ocean oil rig sort of thing that Mother Base stands on. It’s bit unclear how detailed the customization is, but the presenter emphasized that the customization is deep enough that knowing your way around your base matters when it gets attacked and that it’s detailed enough that you’ll want to show the resultant base off to your friends.

This could bring a new level of personalization to Metal Gear that gives it more longevity in our libraries. It’s clear after this demo that Ground Zeroes was just the start.

An adult wouldn't say something as simple as "you can't say video games are unimportant on a games site". They'd use logic to come to the conclusion that in the context of bullying someone online, the subject matter is very much completely unimportant. You know that though, right? Sure you did. So Venom actually IS referring to Horned Snake, everyone had been calling him Venom Snake for a while but I don't think he'd ever been called that officially.

I like the name though, pretty cool.

Not as cool as Vapor Snake though ;)

Now you're just being rude and condescending. It didn't sound to me like anyone was getting bullied. He was frustrated that someone from a major gaming site was doing a god awful analysis of the trailer, which is understandable. But you're right, attacking someone over that isn't cool. Better to tell them their mistakes in a more civil fashion.
 
Anyone know if they are going to release a gameplay video of somekind? They did a half hour video of MGS4 from a E3 demo the year before it released so I dont see why they would hold this back for MGSV. The screenshots so far look amazing, I dont understand where people get off saying that it doesnt look that great lol.

That's a "maybe" as of now. They want to keep it press only for now for some weird reason.
 
OK, so I really want to get into the MGS universe but I haven't played any of the games to completion. I currently only own a 360 and an XB1. Will not own a PS4 until some time next year. What do I do? I've seen these "movies" on YouTube, is that a good way of getting into the story, are there HD remakes out there that I can play on platforms I own? Would greatly appreciate any help.

I've played all of the MGS games except Peace Walker. Someone care to explain the Venom and Shalashaska names and why are cool/important? Did I miss something?

Ha! Yeah, the gameplay demo is press-only right now, but I do believe we will get a small taste of it via IGN on Thursday and maybe the full demo (or a new demo of the promised duration) later this month?

THey haven't said anything about GZ having some extra goodies for TPP? $13 on PSN right now for GZ on PS3. I think I need to play it though I'm not getting my PS4 till Sept. Now or later. Now or later. Hmmm...

Your very best bet would be to get the MGS Legacy Collection.

Has every single MG, excluding the 2 AC!D games (which are non-canon spinoff card games) and Portable Ops (which is a sort-of canon side story which Kojima constantly shits on and tries to ignore). Oh and Ghost Babel, the GameBoy Color MG (Also non-canon).

Basically it has every Metal Gear directed by Kojima.

Don't know how I misread that. Just noticed you said XB360 only. Well then the HD Collection is your best bet. MG, MG2, MGS2, MGS3 and Peace Walker. It's a good chunk of the games.

MGS3 and Peace Walker are the ones about Big Boss - so they're definitely recommended. MGSV builds up the events in MG and MG2, but they're not really required.
