DRIVECLUB gets actual weather effects, screenshots inside

Well that was a bit quick wasn't it? From "Well, we want to have weather in it" last week to "FUCK ON A STICK, we have the best weather in the world". I hope it's all realtime like the cloud and stuff, I want it to happen naturally rather than when it's designed to happen.

Downloading the video now, is there any snow falling in it?

Man, such a great interview with great footage. I hope it goes up on Youtube soon to watch again.

For anyone wondering, there was no actual weather in the footage. But man did it look good.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Snow at night, visibility issues due to snow. OH MY GOD.

The footage in Samsung/Gamespot stream was borderline amazing.

Mountains stage looks so damn gorgeous, I really can't remember I have ever seen such convincing lightning and cars placed on the surface in some game.

Also, major props to the AI - guy driving the Aston Martin did only one mistake and he never managed to climb higher than #3 place.

This is shaping up to be so damn amazing.

Congrats to all of the Evo team.

It sounds like you just pick what you want the weather to do - but maybe there's a random option?

It's completely dynamic from the sound of it. You could even "program" it or something.

This looks beautiful. In for the Plus version still at the moment but if I can have some fun with this not opposed to buying my first racing game in many years.

I seem to recall something about you actually being able to enter your car - have they said anything more about this? Like you control your racer in a first person view, walk around etc then open your car door and climb in?

I'm sure we'll find out for certain soon enough. I'm hoping a combination of both, real time rain that reacts to the real time atmosphere but also the option to set up time of day, weather, etc when you're setting up your own races.

Rushy said that it's still in and they'll be showing more of it and talking about it later on.

Some quotes from the steam:

"It changes gameplay altogether. It's not just that it's going to make it slippier, but you're going to have to change your tactics as you drive. It could start dry, then get wet, and end dry, and you'll have to react on the fly.

"For example, racing in the snow at night, visibility becomes a nightmare. You're racing with your full beams on, and all you can see is the snow rushing towards your windscreen."

"You could say you want the race to start wet, and then end dry, or you could have it transition through various states throughout the race. And you could send that as a challenge, and everybody else would play the exact race you did."

So much to try and take in all that detail during those races.

I think I'll want to start out by driving at 5mph just to soak up all that graphical goodness.

I'm totally just going to start up a free run/time trial by myself and drive along, stopping to marvel at the environment.

Yes, give us them options Rushy.

Dear god, this game looks amazing. Might seriously just buy the full game to show support...provided it's good. Based on what I've seen and heard, it'll deliver.

How can this game look this good... is it PEDs?

Playstation Enhanced Design, yes terrible, move along now please
