Final Fantasy Type-0 HD coming to PS4/Xbox One (no Vita), Agito coming too (iOS/And)

Way to troll the fan translation, lol!

All that work put into what will be the perceivedly inferior version.
Not really. I think SE might have took notice of that translation as well as the fan outcry. So, that work wasn't exactly for nothing and it might be at least part of the reason they decided to localize it. The fact they're going retail with it too shows they're supporting the fans. Bravo, SE. You did good.

If people want to miss out on games because they are F2P or have stamina systems that's fine, it's not for everyone but from what I read I'm getting something at least on par or better than P&D/Brave Frontier and I realy enjoy those games so I'm actually genuinely excited for both games!

An unreleased game in the west that not only requires full localization but also making it a HD remaster. Just look at it like a new game, which ... it basically is for us.

A game with PSP graphics is not going to retail for $60

Why? The game retailed for ¥7920 in Japan, you guys are getting it for cheap and HD.

Yeah I don't quite get the stickler attitude towards pricing. I think it is the cheapness of steam and the fact that game prices drop dramatically after release.

If the port has had substantial work done to it then I'd say it's worth the full $60. You know it will go down in price eventually anyway.

Im a huge Vita fan and i can't believe people are upset about this, are there big Final Fantasy fans that have no intention of buying a PS4? or is it the fact that you can't play it on the go?

A Vita version would be nice but im not going to complain, 3 hours ago i thought i would never play this game and now im going to play it in HD with trophies.

3 hours and 15 minutes ago it was coming to Vita. Well I'll double dip if it comes.

Yupp, I agree. Not my preferred system for any of the releases, Chaos Rings will not fool me again. But if there's a Snowballs chance in hell I'll point out that I want to buy it for Vita. Both of them.

Sorry, my sarcasm was way off.

I'm actually expecting it to be $60 instead of $40 which is the price for most remasters these days.

Okay, sorry. Yeah, $60 is much cheaper than I paid, it's really not a bad price, I'm sure it will look great.

$40, absolutely.

$60, bahahahahaa no.

Anything over $40 is stupid, really.

Why not? It's an $80 game with 100+ of gameplay/multiplayer/datalog and redone in HD.

Not if you're Canadian and live in Ontario. $59.99 USD games are now $69.99 CDN, and plus Ontario Tax it's around $78-$79 here. So yeah, we're technically getting the game for $78-79 dollars here. The "But you guys are getting it cheaper anyway" doesn't apply to me. At least if it's a Vita game it'd be $44.99 CDN plus tax would be around $50.

Why are people shitting on Square for not releasing games on Vita. Not even Sony themselves give a fuck about Vita, so why should Square. I don't see no big upcoming first party Vita game like inFamous, Gran Turismo or God of War. Save for Gravity Rush 2 all I see is ports and Indie games. People need to accept Vita is a Indie machine and move on. This is coming from a huge Vita supporter back when it first released.

A new jrpg (Final fantasy at that!) being given the HD treatment and coming out on PS4 and people are upset it's not portable? Now I've seen everything.

Does it have more content than the FFX/X2 remaster? Unless it is going to give me significantly more than the 220 hours I put into that pair I think $40 is the limit for type 0.

He said big, breh.

Jesus, any Vita title passes off as big here. At least mention Minecraft above all those.

that's false if we get the game up on FS/BB/Amazon E3 deals :3

If this really sells for $60 and doesn't come out until 2015 I don't expect it to sell well. When it doesn't SE will be all confused why the masses didn't buy the game they requested.

It's FF Type-0. The impressions have been good and people have been clamoring for it. Pretty sure it'll sell fine regardless.

This looks closer to PS3 than PSP.

Heh, I those two first are way bigger than you realise. Just because it doesn't suite your taste doesn't exempt it from being big.

Gaf is completely unpredictable, just today they were pissed that link wasn't a woman in the Zelda reveal. (im not joking)

Why do you think Japan doesn't have a sale tax? (5% at the time) Plus when the game was released the yen was way too strong. The game cost probably closer to 111 CND.

So yeah, it does.

Do people really not know how much more games in Japan cost?

The game has not been released in the west like FFX/X-2. Of course, we can't say for sure how much effort was put in the localization during the initial plans to localize it but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there wasn't much. Creation of HD assets is not cheap.

As much as we want it to be cheaper, I can't help but think that it will be full priced given the going price for remasters these days.

If it came out on PSP, it would've been around $30. Vita? $40. Why should PS4 warrant a higher price?

As I said, if they are doing any kind of work to upgrade the visuals and/or tweak gameplay it will have more time and money put into it. Also, the fact that the game has never released in the west means that people will be playing it for the first time.

I understand that it would have been cheaper to buy it for a portable system, but if the game is as good as people are saying, then price, at least to me, is irrelevant.

It's going to be interesting to see what sort of a visual overhaul this game is going to get going from PSP ... to PS4.

yeah, I admit it's a very odd choice of platforms. Hopefully we'll get some more information soon on what they are doing with it. I assume it will at least be 1080p.

"Playing it for the first time" is irrelevant. It's still a touched-up PSP game that would cost the same price as something with more expensive fleshed-out visuals as XIII or XV. Just makes NO sense.

People are miffed because the initial announcement said Vita, then it said Vita plus PS4/Bone, then no Vita all in a hilariously short timespan.

Because FFX/2 collection and Halo collection. A remaster of a single old PSP game is not worth more than $40, regardless of how good it is.

Wow at shahid painting it as the result of jrpgvita.

I'll get it for the ps4 then :D hope its out next year as thats when i will get the console

Interesting looking at the Tabata interview from TGS.

But we were very conscious -- I was very conscious -- that despite the fact that we weren't able to provide the title at the time, there were many people who wanted to play it. I heard all the voices calling for it. An idea we had at the time was that, well, if the PSP market is shrinking, then maybe its successor, the PS Vita, was something we could consider for the title.

Their assessment was that it would perhaps be a better idea to go the PS3 HD conversion route, which would be able to take in more users than the PS Vita. When that proposal came along, this possible switch to a full console environment, as a person who was developing the title... I thought the general blueprint for how the game was made was for mobile, or at least a mobile console. The distance from which you look at the screen is different, as opposed to looking at a TV. Everything was made for this, the battle system and everything else. Now, if I was going to port it to the console environment, it would need a pretty large overhaul of the game systems.

Strange how things changed so much. Wonder if that "large overhaul in gameplay mechanics" is going to happen, and if it does, will it make for a better experience?

Wasn't here earlier to see the whole Vita fiasco, but from that one still, it looks like it's getting quite the graphical upgrade. I'll probably be getting this, even at $60.

It's a shame that it's not coming to Vita and I'm glad I missed out on the announcement and false hope. To be honest though, I'd probably have gone with the PS4 version anyway just to see the enhancements.
