They do this all the time. Give the press a little something to work with. It's where they've announced Brawl and showed concept art of Skyward Sword when it was in the early stages of development.
He and everybody watching knew Kirby stood no chance in a sudden death. I was not happy with the result.I hated how the scarf guy was just avoiding HB at the end, such a cowardly strategy, he didn't deserve to win

I'm a little disappointed at no character reveal to top it all off, but I can't complain about those finals. They were hype as all hell, and I am quite confident in Smash 4's potential as a competitive fighter.

They'd better do one of these every year. Maybe with different games, too. Mario Kart could be fun. Splatoon. This was the most fun I've had watching an E3 event ever.

Should have gotten a reveal right at the end. PSASBR did it with Big Daddy, Smash should have done it. Think of the hype. They'll never get that chance again.

Yeah, I mean, they're gonna reveal it at the roundtable, that's not even streamed and they passed the chance to do it while 200.000 (!) fans were watching!

Sonic the Hedgehog was revealed during a roundtable during Brawl. There's precedent for it happening. But I agree with everyone else I think it would have been better suited after the invitational.
I think they're going to reveal something at the roundtable in front of 25 journalists instead of 200k+ people watching on a stream and thousands there live.

Yeah Kirby doesn't really have the mobility to handle characters like ZSS, at least not easily.
Put it this way, if that were Jigglypuff instead of Kirby Hungrybox would not be having that problem.

There was so much to see even just from Kirby learning to roll past the whip, then Samus predicting it with the grab, to Kirby predicting the grab and feigning the roll. So good.
Well, you can possibly not watch it, since it's not being streamed.
Really surprised there's no reveal. End of the tournament would be the perfect moment to show something big. Nonetheless, this whole thing was awesome. Lots of new stuff was shown, I got a good feel for the gameplay in SSB4, and things got pretty intense in the end. And, we know more stuff is coming from that round table. There may not be a reveal now, but there's gonna be one by the end of E3.

Yep they did great but this was a no brainer.
They always fail at the little big decissions like this. same when they showed the wii in 2006 at e3, the crowd was going wild at the nokia theater and the smast trailer come a day later on a roundtable. Just imagine what snake would have done to that theater. Huge missed opportunity on both.
