Playfire Rewards Discussion Thread

8 GB download to install and play Portal for 10 minutes to do the Terminal Velocity achievement I never bothered with before. Good times.

The .5 pound Bioshock 2 achievement is pretty easy, just beat the first level in the DLC.

Thanks for the tip.

Anyone got any Fallout New Vegas achievements? I wanted to start it and play through this time (instead of quiting after the boring first 2-4 hours) but the achievements do not show up on http://steamlessness.appspot.com/ so I am thinking of waiting (if they do not give me credit) and play some other games in the meantime. Will get back to FNV in the summer once all my exams are done.

While that site is useful, I wouldn't really base much of anything on it.

Is there any other tricks to get GMG to register the credit? I tried getting the 14 Day Eve Online trial, but it didn't update my credit.

Wanted to use my ~$7 in credit on State of Decay and its DLC.

You could try sending a tweet to the GMG staff, they seem to respond to that occasionally. Otherwise, nothing that I know of, purchasing doesn't seem to correct it any more whether it's the free trial or not.

How long does it take to get all the rewards for LEGO LotR from a new game?

The 10 cent one you get by doing the story, 25 cents is for beating the game which is roughly 9-10 hours if you take it slow, and the 50 cent achievement is for visiting each map stone. Wait until you unlock free play for the overworld before doing that one. Each statue you need will show up on the map so keep a record of which ones you've discovered.

The 0.50 cheevo for Spec Ops can be done in the first minute of the game. After walking a few steps and coming to a cliff there are some Oryxes at the bottom of it and you just have to kill one.

Yeah I just did it. Also the 0.25 one is at the start of chapter 9. Just loaded it and for 0.75 it took me about 1-2 minutes total. (Downloading 7 GB took the whole afternoon though :p)

Playfire finally got back to me saying they've given me the credit on GMG, but it probably won't show up on the Playfire site, well at least that's done. Hopefully they can improve support response times in the future.

Thanks, I tweeted them and contacted playfire this morning too but with less than 12 hours until the sale ends not confident they'll get my credit updated in time.

Well installing Bioshock 2 was a mistake. It may be "easy" for a 0.50 level reward, but it took me well over 2 hours to do it, and of course I didn't know before hand that you have to use a command line switch to force dx9 or it may randomly crash and it doesn't autosave very often. And on top of that, even though you remote hack constantly while you're doing it, apparently that achievement will only unlock in the regular game. Meh.

Just did this. Thanks for the heads up. Too bad I already had the other achievements from when I played the game back at release.

Did all of the Lego Marvel stuff except for Stantastic, because fuck that.

Yeah I started to work on it and then I realized the bonus levels were gated by Gold Block totals (ran into a 150 requirement one) and said fuck it. It's basically requiring you to do the majority of the side stuff before you can rescue every Stan. The icing on the cake was that the bonus levels aren't automatically free play (choose any character) meaning I would have to replay them all twice.

So yeah, Lego Marvel's 100% structure sucks so bad compared to The other recent entries.

I could finish up BioShock 2, but I don't know if I really want to.

Anyone done the Megabyte Punch achievements?

I'm having trouble jumping 5 times in a row and pelvic thrusting my opponent. They won't block it and they just take it (this sounds kinky).

How long are portal achievements?

Pretty doable due to the short nature of the game. I only had the challenge rooms partially left to finish. Silver seems pretty manageable following walkthroughs for each challenge type. Some of the golds are really frustrating but they aren't required for the .50 reward. Thank god for quicksaving.

Injustice achievements can be done in less than 10 min (except the story mode one which requires 1-2 hours).

If anybody would like to boost the online flawless victory cheevo in MK9, PM me your steam id

Can't quite get the Splatter 20x multiplier achievement in arcade mode. Most I can get is 18x for some reason.

Had a bit of trouble with that, but got it to work on the Crimsonland map. Make sure you have the green laser weapon by wave 11 (should be the third spider wave) and just kill all of them in one combo.

Is there something wrong with the Play for the first time rewards? The TheHunter and Floating Point rewards aren't showing up on my rewards page but the steamappleseness site recognizes that I did them.

Are the games showing up in your Playfire profile in the games tracker section?

Does anyone want to boost the FootLOL online achievement? It's win 5 online matches and should be possible in a few minutes since there's a match type which is over after 5 goals.

My PlayFire funds weren't transferred to GMG. I used the button under your balance that says "Spend it" and I was redirected to GMG and I had the correct balance after that. Didn't have to buy anything. I don't know if this was a fluke or if it will work every time.

This page?

Floating Point shows up but I think it's from when I installed it rather than when I played it.

The Steamlessapps website doesn't recognise if you've played the game when the reward's active, it marks it as red regardless, so if you played it at all before the reward went live then it'll be marked as done but you won't get a reward for it. Not sure if this is what's happened. If not then just try loading it up for 5 minutes or so again.

I didn't actually "play" Floating Point, I saw it was available for me on the steamapplessnes site, loaded the game in the background and quit out a few minutes later. I'm assuming that Playfire can't actually tell if I played it so I'm assuming any sort of time played is the trigger.

Also to be clear, if I played the game at all prior to the rewards going up, Playfire wouldn't recognize me playing again during the rewards are up right?

Cool, yea that's what I was going for. Ironically I got the achievement 'accidentally' during the campaign when I blew up a gas station or something. I'm rich, bitch!

Oh dear, getting overwhelmed with all these rewards, so damn much to play and not enough time!
I'd really, really appreciate it if someone could give a few pointers about the games I have to play, like which games you can play through quickly etc.
No need to be detailed though, just nudge me in the right way and I'll look up the important stuff myself.
Already know a few, from earlier in this thread, but still overwhelmed of all this.

Games I have with rewards:

  • LEGO LotR
  • Aliens: CM
  • Company of Heroes 2
  • Giana Sisters
  • Heileen1
  • Sugar Cube
  • Dishonored
  • Oil Rush
  • PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate
  • Driftmoon
  • FFVII
  • March of War
  • Swords and Soldiers
  • Bioshock 2+Infinite
  • Borderlands 2
  • Mafia 2
  • Spec Ops (know about the easy Deer one, how about the others?)
  • Thirty-Nine Steps
  • Day of Defeat: Source
  • Humanity Asset
  • Left 4 Dead
  • Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death
  • Batman: AO
  • Hard Reset
  • Sins of a Solar Empire
  • Fallout: New Vegas
  • Skyrim

My god, the list was much longer than I thought :(
Almost £29 waiting for me to grab them, better get to work!

Giana Sisters, Sugar Cube, PixelJunk, Swords and Soldiers and Aliens CM have easy 0.1 and 0.25 achievements. 0.5 for Giana Sisters is beating the first boss level with a good rating and isn't too hard either, just takes a bit more time.

The Dishonored 0.5 achievements is beating the first mission of the Knife of Dunwall DLC and can be done relatively quickly. Getting the 0.1 at the sime time seems possible.
the 0.5 for Bioshock 2 and Infinite are for beating the first mission of the DLC (Episode 2 for Infinite) for each one.

FF VII and Oil Rush have easy 0.1 achievements, the others take way longer.

That's strange the steamlessness app isn't showing up that I own Skyrim and Fallout NV, it has them in white. Nice I don't have the 50p ones in either, another 2 to add to the list.

Played through Splatter today all the way to the end, very very decent game, terrible voice acting, but the game has style.

You are the best, thanks a lot!
Too bad I don't have the KoD DLC for Dishonored, I'll jump on the others ASAP though.
Gonna try rushing through LEGO LotR as well, as it seems pretty straightforward and easy (basically just beat the game), too bad you cant skip the cutscenes though.

Yeah, same for me, strange indeed.

Yeah, Steam (and therefore Playfire and Steamlessness) only tracks how long the game's program was running, not if you're actually playing it or anything like that, and if you run the game before the reward goes up then you won't get the reward for it.

The achievements I got yesterday showed up in the tracker today and not my rewards, but my credit did sync with GMG. So at this point it looks like every other day rewards are being tracked and then credit is being awarded, at least that's been happening for me since the sale started.

I beat the Hard Reset DLC on easy back when it first came out so I thought it would be simple to go back and get the Playfire reward for beating it on normal. I was wrong. It requires beating the whole main campaign first. Or at least it does if your saves are non-existent.
