I don't think he is. Advanced mechanics are generally the result of glitches so I think the removal of some advanced mechanics is simply the result of changes made to the game engine.

I hadn't heard of the "4 characters cut" rumor before. Not sure if Mewtwo and Roy would count for this rumor either if they aren't in the game, because it is probably specifically pointing out that 4 characters from Brawl aren't returning. Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Snake have been on shaky ground lately with Lucas being cast into doubt due to the rumor. Guess all that would really mean is that Wolf is in the game if the rumor turns out true.

I think it will be similar with Brawl since you can see the characters selection might be organized by franchises in ROW instead of column. If you push Link into second row then it would be next to Zelda.
Also 3DS had Sheik as well.
It's possible but unlikely tho but at least you got Regina as playable character in Dead Rising 3
Personally I think those characters will be cut, even though it might be a bit far-fetched, but:
- Lucas
- Either Falco or Wolf, maybe even both
- Ganondorf (at least if he doesn't get a new moveset)
- Snake (although I hope that I'm wrong, really liked him in Brawl...)
- Ivysaur and Squirtle
- Maybe R.O.B., he has a unique moveset but they might keep him exclusive to Brawl

That doesn't make sense at all. Sakurai has always counted PT as 3 separate characters. The "character" Pokemon Trainer was just a vessel for his three Pokemon to be characters. If there are 4 cuts, Pokemon Trainer's other 2 Pokemon make up half of that.

Possible. I think three spots will be for Mii Fighter, Gunner, and Swords.
Edit: Actually 48 makes sense. The 3DS demo has room for 24 characters. If you use L and R to switch between them, then it would work. I am curious though what about the random ? space? That would point more to 47.

I think we're done for Smash reveals at E3. Lines up with last year's E3 where we got 2 newcomers at the Nintendo press conference, and a third later that day. (with one of each being a 3rd party character) Add in that Sakurai left the party and I think we'll be getting an occasional veteran reveal on the site until August or September or whenever the next Nintendo Direct is.

Isn't one of the spots for the FP? The figurine player? I thought i remember reading that FP had a character slot. The other is, of course, random.

Smash is one of the fewvfighting games I know of where absolutely every fighter has a good amount of fans.
Snake especially for those who got into smash because of his inclusion such as me.

If true, this is the biggest leak ever! The idea that Ninty might actually support this game with dlc/patching is an incredible departure from the past. This could explain some missing vets.
