I got just as excited as him watching his expressions.
Simply adore what I hear about the game so far: real dark areas (not like the washed out mess in Dark Souls 2), very detailed world, limited ammo for firearms.

And you get covered in blood!

Let me use this gif again folks

The E3 reveal was super disappointing. They could have simply showed a few minutes of gameplay to really demonstrate the potential of the game, rather than a boring ass CG trailer.

Nah, they want to do live gameplay and at this point they don't want to have to deal with the fps backlash they had to overcome with DS. Better to let the press who understand the issues hype the game for them.

OMG just watching him got me even more hyped than I was before! You can clearly tell his body was barely ready for what he saw...I dont think mine is quite ready tbh.

And I agree, it sorta hurts that we'll be getting GOTG this soon. How will ever enjoy anything else?! lol

Man! He sounds sooo excited!

That was AWESOME! He sounds like what I would sound like if I saw that demo except probably more coherent! It is so wonderful to see fellow gamers get so pumped about games that I know I will be pumped about too. It's rare my hype levels get to those levels these days, but this is definitely one game that will do it!

i asked this on another thread, but is this realistically speaking the last game miyazaki will direct? now that he's president?

i remember seeing someone mention you get blood from both beasts and human, so i'm thinking the pvp/multiplayer elements will be killing other players for human blood

One running thread with some of these impressions that I'm particularly interested in is how the NPCs and especially enemies fit into the world. It's apparently far less static now, and they can be observed living in the world with an agency of their own as opposed to basically waiting for you to come around.

This should also presumably make things more dynamic when you die and have to repeat areas, since enemies may be in different spots and attack from different angles in subsequent attempts.

Yeah, I personally rather wait a couple months until they can show a more finished version without fps drops.

It also makes me think they don't have enemies stop spawning after killing them several times like in DaS2 (which I personally wasn't very fond of).

Anyone remember Miyazaki claiming he wanted to work on something warmer in that edge interview?

legendary big M said:
“sometimes I’d like to work on a warmer game – not necessarily casual, but warmer in terms of the atmosphere and the environment”

Edge interview.

It doesn't look like he's working on something warmer. As a matter of fact, it looks darker.

Lets not get too paranoid here. The mods handle this port begging thing pretty well so far and his post was ok.

you're overthinking it dude

Because they want to convey their excitement? They want to imply it is a system seller to them? I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.Don't worry about people and whether they're port begging or not - let the mods do their job and decide.

My bad guys.

Stop already! That wasn't port begging. he's saying he doesn't have the console BUT IS GOING TO BUY ONE! doesn't mean hes whining for the game to come to xbox. Big difference. And the "stealth" thing isn't even clever.

The stealth thing wasn't supposed to be clever. Don't tell me you haven't seen the term used on gaf before. Just check the two original project beast threads and you'll see it umpteen times.

Thanks man.

No, but I've been thinking that Bloodborne may be a "one and done" kinda thing. The deal was obviously made before the change in ownership, so Sony will have to make it worth Kurokawa's while if they want Bloodborne (or Miyazaki's next game after Bloodborne if he wants to something new again) to be a franchise.

Look at this guy. This poor guy has just seen the gameplay and look what it has done to him. He can't contain the hype. I change my mind. I don;t want to see the gameplay yet. My body is not ready.

Haha... seriously
It's so fucking ridiculous they aren't showing this to us. Come on. We're not the one's who leaked the early footage so why are we being punished?

I wonder if like that's happened with Demon's Souls -> Dark Souls we will have in few years a multiplatform game which will be The successor of BloodBorne ?

Well according to the GT guy the framerate was all over the place so that could be the reason why they didn't show the demo to the general public.

A gameplay trailer would've sufficed though.

That is not going to happen.

It happened last time because Sony fucked up. This game is going to get the royal treatment.

This is probably my most anticipated game of E3. I'm trying to keep my expectations in check but what I'm hearing is making me really excited to play it!

One thing that might have me worried is the variety in level design. One thing I loved about demon's souls was how different each world was. If this is set at night in one city, where will the possible variation be?

i doubt sony will make that mistake again

Yeah, but things are different now with Kurokawa owning From. Obviously, this deal was made long before their purchase, but who knows how open they'll be to another Sony/From project. Let's hope this is a success (financially) and that Sony get the message.

Did you see the WebM's? Those outdoor areas didn't look like a city to me.

Dakr Souls areas were also around a single castle i think, so it is possible to have cariety and i am sure they will, since that has been their style so far

Don't think so, FROM will most likely continue making Dark Souls while Bloodborne is their collaboration game (series?) with SCE. Pretty sure Yoshida/SCE have talked things over with FROM and they don't have no reason or can't do DeS->DaS again, the only reason Dark Souls became a thing is because SCE didn't pursue another sequel, but this time SCE are eager and adamant to make games together again and onwards it seems so.

Maybe you're right but you think BloodBorne will be a one shot ? I hope that it will become a new franchise with at least 2 games but i can't imagine Miyazaki doing it :/

That is true actually. Needless to say, this and uncharted 4 were the highlights of E3 for me without a doubt. Sony knows what's up

Depending on success, which I think will be very high, I can see them continuing this as a series alongside Dark Souls.

Ugh I'm not really into more gore, that's often one of the lamest and most pathetic gimmicks in gaming.

The quicker combat also has me a bit worried.

Please don't turn this into style over substance, gaming is already overloaded with that as it is.

Personally, I just want Miyazaki to keep bringing us more goodness. As long as it comes out on an actual gaming system, I'll buy it.

For the record, I think Sony will try and make a franchise out of this, and I think Miyazaki might be okay with that as long as he can do what he wants, but I think we have to be mindful of the fact that Kadokawa now own FROM. Obviously, the deal for Bloodborne was made before Kadokawa bought FROM, but it could throw a spanner in the works.

Well sony own The Ip so they could just get Japan studio to work on the next iteration and get him in as an advisor or whatever

How about style and substance?

If Bloodbourne is a success, I think From will just make something like DarkBlood or BloodSouls as multiplatform. They'll let Sony pay for the risky experimentation and if it's a success, they'll just make something similar on their own.

The impressions really make me excited. I wonder if the city is the entire game or if there are other locales a la Dark Souls. Man I want to see gameplay and I hope this isn't 2 years away. Most excited about creature and environment design, architecture and such.

It's kind of weird that FromSoft is having frame-rate issues with Bloodborne.

Well, obviously who knows how good the game looks. At the same time though, they aren't technical wizards (so nothing fancy/taxing) and the PS4 is a noticeable step up from PS3.

Then again, they aren't tech whizzes, so maybe their code is not optimized?

Gametrailers dude is fucking tripping balls.

I'm fucking excited about the official souls sound being in though.
Feels so good to hear that short "Shhhhhhp" after you lay waste to a foe.
