Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

I never understood why Smash was the black sheep of the fighting game community and not taken as seriously, but now I see that essentially its like watching a room full of children doing a block in hole challenge with one of the children struggling to to get the square block to fit in the circle hole to the point of resorting to filing away at the edges of the square block.

Yeah, after watching both versions of the game. I predict 4 rows and 10 to 12 columns of characters. The 3DS has two pages in which you navigate back and forth. The Wii U version will shrink like Brawl does.
Now in September we will figure out which characters got cut
 
Awwww man Rosalina has her own unique victory theme. Y'know, if every character has their own victory theme that will more than make up for them seemingly only having one victory pose each, at least in my eyes.
 
Why did I see so much better RosaLuma play in that scramble than I did through all of the Smash Invitational yesterday? :lol

Luma Shot/Starbits are going to be so troll when people get Luma positioning down. Also, her up and down aerials are pretty fierce.

People who work for Nintendo will be better with new characters than people experiencing them for the first time. I am pretty sure Mega Man will also be good when mastered as well.

For me that's a bit like the youtube/nintendo debate. They illegally hacked one of their games/consoles and used copyright protected asset (bringing back Mewtwo etc.). What should they do? Pat the community on the back for doing that? Don't expect a company to embrace that sort of behaviour.

You should know that and if it's a problem don't accept the invite.

Rosalina and Pit definitely have their most current voices in English. Bowser sounds like Bowser in the new Mario games, no stock Lizard/Dragon sounds.

Clarify on Bowser? Which newer games so I can go back and do a comparison...I don't know if Mario Kart 8 will count but the last "Mario" game I played that I actually heard his voice on was Bowser's Inside Story

I haven't finished SM3DWorld/SMB Wii U. Sorry guys. The backlog struggle is real
 
Is it just me or do characters die at lower percents than they did in Brawl? Seems like getting even just 40% on your opponent is more of an advantage than it used to be.

Not sure I get you exactly, but melee has enough competitive aspects to be taken seriously, brawl took that away and when you are listening to high level Brawl players talk about the game you can hear their concessions. Listen to the early 'state of Brawl' videos on YouTube. They talk about playing differently on Stream to ''make it work' a good competitive game just works.

FGC accepts Melee and we appreciate that, but we don't think it's wise for them to accept every game people are competitive about. I think it's fair that standards should exist. The Melee community, I'm part of it, but don't speak for it, but I believe the Melee community just wants to see huge stadiums of people playing and watching Smash. Realistically tho the game has to be good and it has to be fun, Nintendo can nail the ladder, but we need them to nail the first so it's a game deserving of respect, PlayStation All Stars was pure casual and you saw that everyone responded to that, few people think anything of it.

How is it bullshit that he played the match up correctly? "Hey let me run in like a dumb ass on a character with stubby normals who would otherwise get out ranged or out maneuvered given my movement options."
