Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

Still holding hope that the leaker mixed them up with Marshal since the leaker already failed to specify Greninja and I really want to see Night Walk representation since it's my favorite Rhythm Heaven thing ever. But fuck it, I'm hyped all the same. Rhythm Heaven baby!

Xenoblade enemies are pretty big and detailed to include I imagine, doubt we'll see any in Smash Run.

I would be surprised if that's possible, considering the leaker presented "Chorus Men" with "Mii Fighter" recently. Also, isn't Marshal different? The classic night walk guy also shows up in the credits as a separate entity.

I loved ROB. That said, I've never played the rhythm heaven games and the chorus men don't really mean anything to me. I'll wait until final roster is revealed to see how upset I am. I am only bothered by their inclusion if it comes at the exclusion of someone else.
 
Chorus Men could be real swell, actually.

I picture them as a trio, possibly standing on each other's shoulders and grabbing and swinging themselves around to attack. Could be a very dynamically alive character in that sense.
 
The way Fox shouted "FIRE!" sounded really different. It'd be funny if they got Mike West (SF64 VA) to do him.

WOW! PAC man looks awesome.

Not sure why he got the tweet release. He would have generated MUCH more hype than Paletuna.

I think I'm gonna main him. Add him to the roster along with Sonic.

The best part of that trailer was the end when they show the 1980 and 1981 characters. Dem feels.

They're a combined final smash,

"Dark Hole" is the capture zone (like most targeted FS have); then the Beam does the actual damage to whoever is stuck in the dark hole.

Well, Marshal is generally the guide of Rhythm Heaven Fever as well so his presence is more pronounced and feels more versatile. I think of it as a "Ness over Ninten" scenario. Plus he looks very similar to both the original Night Walk guy and the Chorus Kids.

That said I'm fine with either inclusion honestly, I love this series.

Leaker didn't specify Greninja because, as Sakurai explained at last night's roundtable, Greninja was chosen for the roster before he even had a name, back when they were working off early reference materials.

I guess it depends on when this (now very probable) leaker got access to all this info and if he still has contact with them.

If he was only involved in very, very early development that would explain why he only had info as far as "Pokemon from X and Y" as Sakurai explained yesterday they had a position for them reserved before they had any idea what the Gen VI Pokemon were. Assuming something happened down the line (like the team discovering X wasn't directly related to the story of Xenoblade), then maybe Shulk got lower priority and didn't make the final cut, maybe getting swapped out with some other character.

Maybe. It's still just speculation, but everything's sounding likely now.

Probably, though that could just as likely be something that was being debated early on as well.

The real proof would be when the name "Mii Fighters" was decided on.

Nintendo made a lot of really weird choices with their Digital Event announcements and what was shows after it. They should have kept the Mii stuff for the start, it was a fun reveal and they have interesting mechanics and they should have closed on Pac Man, a proper megaton announcement. Watching the Giant Bomb watches the Digital Event video you can see how everyone there was confused at the end and didn't know who Palutena was and didn't care. Only people who played KI:U would care and that's not that many and a lot of people who did play it hated the controls.

They played smash run 3 times in a row. Apparently the stuff you get from killing special enemies,treasure chests, or completing a challenged door can be anything from trophies,custom moves sets for different characters or power ups you can equip to different characters to use in smash run later
 
Totally down for chorus men. I love wacky characters.

Chrom and Shulk don't do a whole lot for me, but who knows, I didn't think I'd like pac-man or mii, but I think they look pretty great!

Also, is it just me or did the Smash Theme we've been hearing since the first trailer sound fully orchestrated in recent demos? It sounded really good. I've definitely warmed up to it.

Loving Samus' fusion colour alts. I'm so happy with how good Smash 3DS is turning out!

Even kept Mega Man and Greninja's FS intact. :D

Rainbow Road looks amazing. I like when the cars come past in the 2D segment. Also, Reset Forest does NOT scroll.
 
No idea if this is true or not but someone on another forum said a nintendo representive said they plan on releasing a demo of the game later this summer for both versions
