PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Just sharing this little tidbit as I find it pretty funny: the 4th overall best seller on ebgames.ca right now is the pre-order for Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus, right under Call of Duty and Mario Kart 8.

THE THIRST IS REAL

Oh, I wish. Though, as far as I know, there hasn't been news yet about 5pb./MAGES presence at E3 at all, and they're supposed to announce 3 new Xbox One games at the very least.

Darn. Oh well, thanks for saying so. I need my 2D Kurisu fix eventually.

Now I sound like Daru.

I am, borderlands TPS...if its coming though. The BL2 Vita sales, I dunno, dont seem too good :C I say this based on v g chartz since they seem up to date. Yeah, I know they're numbers arent accurate.

I think, the following gif, describes E3 for vita well

ROFL, need a link to the video.

So Sony is entitled to shit out any game their userbase requests them?

If that's the case, where is my GTA Vice City HD?

I'm not defending Sony here. They already lost me the past few days for a myriad of reasons but this whole thing is way blown out of proportion.

Sony and Shahid shouldn't have hyped up jrpgvita and promised expectations

Square is also a bunch of clowns for being stubborn and not going through with the Vita release

If we pay them money, they should be making games for us, we're their lifeblood

except those AAA IPs they have to milk for all they are worth. Some of these games dont deserve all this airtime.

YUP!

I want one but... man those memory cards. I'm not a shopaholic enough to just jump on those things.

But... but Y's....

You guys that have minimal interest in Vita and it's games won't need a memory card at all to use PS4 remote play or PS Now on PS TV. If you do, the $129 one comes with an 8GB memory card, which is plenty for someone who's not planning on buying much for Vita and is just playing some compatible PS+ freebies they've stacked up, or a handful PS1/PSP games. You can also play compatible physical games without taking up hardly any space at all since they don't install like MGS Peace Walker on PSP or anything and only ever inflate based on DLC or patches (which is only gets hefty on Killzone, Borderlands 2 and LBP). Even physical games that state they require a memory card for saving, can just be saved to the internal 1GB of memory if you don't have a memory card at all, like on the slim Vita.

An 8GB card can hold a vast combination of games depending on what the filesizes are and how you purchase your games:

physical up top, digital down low... it's like Resident Evil/Diablo 2 inventory

Battlegrounds on Vita? It's coming over. I found myself to the Japanese blog and read that the staff were preparing an international version soon.

Mind linking the source on that? I sure hope the game comes out sooner than later... I bet it'll be a stealth release.

Here's the full video.

Theres a new vita movement thing, if you can call it that, called PSVitaDirect on twitter. Apparently vitalounge will be talking about it today.

To anyone who's got the FW demo, can you grapple and stick to a wall and shoot from there?
I haven't got the demo but from the clips I've seen of people playing it you can, yeah.

Man I love DW8 XL on my Vita. Just finished the historical side of Shu's story mode. Already have hypothetical unlocked. I don't care about the frame rate of the quality of voice acting. I love the gameplay and that's all that counts.

They're all indie/free ps+ vita games. I havent really liked any of the ones I had, mostly because they're better on the pc or ps3

So since you have no interest in any of those, then you can relegate yourself entirely to retail release games, or fit 3-10 native Vita titles depending on filesize, as they range from sub 1GB to 3 or so (bar Killzone and Borderlands 2)

Tell me what games you would like to buy and play on PS TV, and I will find the file size, tell you how many combinations of them will fit on an 8GB card at one time, and whether or not they're available on physical media.

If I wanted to play PSVita games on a big screen, I would emulate them on my PC instead if possible

Otherwise, I'm just playing games that wont look good upscaled on a 42" tv

I simply don't understand the point of the vita tv. I have a vita, i have a ps3, i guess if i get a vita tv i can play both or something and stream ps4 games like onlive? That sounds not that great.

Streaming PS4 games to second tv in your house mostly.

Ok, so then memory cards on PS TV are of no consequence to you whatsoever because you have no interest in this product, whether or not it plays Vita games or anything else... and since you have a Vita, you have a memory card already.

Sounds like it's not for you.

Has anyone even started making a Vita emulator?

My contention is more of:

Who is this for? The apple tv/roku/fire market who don't want to spend $500 for a ps4 but kind of sort of want to rent that GTA5 game their kids are talking about?

If you already have a Vita then why not just share your memory card with both systems?

At least that's what I'm planning on doing. In the end it actually sounds like a better option than having separate cards, because then I won't have to worry about managing my saves.

Yep, you could quite easily just pull the card out of your Vita and continue playing on the PlayStation TV - or vice versa. Me though, I've already got a memory card for my JP account so I'll just use that.

Considering that all PS4 are less than a year old, you can just buy the plan. They keep track of how old it is and everything and apparently you just call them up and tell them you want another one and they do it. Also works for controllers.

Awesome! Thank you for the response! I hadn't considered that all PS4s should be eligible for that. But I suppose that logic wouldn't apply to the accidental coverage though, would it?

Omg great idea. Gonna use my JP card for Vita TV so I don't have to keep reseting my vita

What about bubble placement? Does that still reset when you put memory cards in different machines?

I'm still surprised Sony are sticking with Vita's UI for PlayStation TV. I also wonder if SCEA will get off their ass and fix PSP/PSone compatibility. Not being able to play Crash Bandicoot, Gran Turismo PSP and Metal Gear Solid is some bullshit.
I know they won't.

You can play MGS1..

im confused , IS Type 0 coming to Vita or it isnt?
I was really pissed off over the ps4 news about type 0, but not becouse it is releasing on that platform i was pissed off becouse the game would not see light on the Vita Hardware given that most of the "petitioners" where psp or Vita players.

Ugh I forgot about that. I don't think it's that big of a deal though. I will simply not bother ordering them anymore.

Really wish Sony would fix that though.

Final Fantasy Type-0 has not been announced for Vita.

You can play MGS1..

Through PS3 transfer. Assuming you don't own a Vita handheld or PS3, how do you do that with a PlayStation TV?

I was really hoping we'd get a solid release date at E3 but nope :( Hopefully the localisation is as quick as Soul Sacrifice Delta was.

Yeah, last I heard its releasing this year for the US, so thats good, I guess. Also, do not hope for the vita at E3, I've learned my lesson.

I suppose its for the folks who arent willing to spend $200 on a normal vita but are interested for vita games only at a cheap price. Sony should've announce a PS Now open beta for vita owners in the US to make it more enticing. Without that though, its still doing well

Its currently at 17 today though.

what about those shahid tweets and that news some guy posted? is it fake? can i hope for this to come to Vita? im sad.

Ehhh Shahid gets too much hate around here. Sure, I'd love to have more AAA titles on the Vita, but I don't really think that's his job. If you're reading this Shahid thanks for all the hard work you've put into securing games for the Vita. Keep securing those titles and I'll keep buying them

Now go kick Square Enixs arse and get us Type-0 HD on Vita #basedshahid #jrpgvita
They've been trying to, but since they've never released any games for the Vita, no one knows if it works or not.

Got a good chuckle out of this :lol

Yeah, I've got nothing but respect for Shahid, even though I think he can get a little overly hammy about some of his announcements that results in some disappointing backlash. He's the only guy in the company that seems to visibly give a shit about the Vita, and that's the real shame.

I really appreciate Shahid's work for Vita. But as I've mentioned before, if he ever gets us Type-0 HD on Vita, he can bring only one Pong game for the rest of his career and I'll still consider him the best thing to happen to the system ever.

The problem is that no matter how passionate Shahid is about the Vita, it won't change the fact that SCEA just doesn't give a shit, they are dead set into destroying any chances the Vita will ever have at being remotely successful by marketing it as an overpriced PS4 accessory and nothing more, and the current e3 only further proved that point.

Many news outlets who reported on the PlayStation TV haven't even realized that it plays Vita games. Sony's push on marketing the now renamed Vita TV purely as a shitty streaming device is working.

I will admit, Shahid's got balls to actually speak up on Twitter. He's willing to be a target for most the vita disappointment this E3 unlike other certain Sony top shots. Why doesnt Sony just hire him to be the head honcho of vita operations since whoever is doing that now is horrible.

He's the guy who got my vita to play Spelunky, Proteus,TxK, Limbo so yeah, dude's cool on my list.

In other words, Shawn Layden is the vita's doombringer while Shahid and his team is the vita's protectors.
