PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Battlegrounds on Vita? It's coming over. I found myself to the Japanese blog and read that the staff were preparing an international version soon.

I guess Microsoft has a policy that forced a global release for the 360 version? Maybe a bad thing overall but it was nice playing it day 1. But surely they've fixed being able to use Kurisu online, right?

The 3ds and Vita are products of their companies dna. Sony's a predominately a console company and Nintendo handheld.

But there's no point in moping about something you can't change. If you want something positive just look at that list of Vita indie games playable on E3 floor. I'm sure there's more than enough quality games to be played coming out in the future to keep me busy. Quite frankly I rather support them and feel just a little appreciated at least, than taken for granted or ignored by certain other big publishers.

That's just not true. Both companies put their major investments on the consoles.

The problem is that no matter how passionate Shahid is about the Vita, it won't change the fact that SCEA just doesn't give a shit, they are dead set into destroying any chances the Vita will ever have at being remotely successful by marketing it as an overpriced PS4 accessory and nothing more, and the current e3 only further proved that point.

Many news outlets who reported on the PlayStation TV haven't even realized that it plays Vita games. Sony's push on marketing the now renamed Vita TV purely as a shitty streaming device is working.

Yeah, I took some time to explain what it's for and what it does to some youtube commenters... I shouldn't have to be doing that.

I've bought nearly everything for this system because I wanted it, repped and defended the shit out of it online, backed any kickstarter with a Vita logo on it, expressed all interest in support to any company or dev I want games from that I can, and my twitter account is probably 25% Vita related hashtags and retweets. What more can a fan do? It ain't VitaGAF's fault.

You guys couldn't do a complete sizzle reel of all the upcoming releases for 2 minutes to get that audience upbeat, and to inform anyone watching who isn't enough of a fanatic to pay attention to the news way more than all the gaming websites do?

Hahaha, ridiculous.
Absolutely ridiculous.

It's like he thinks it's not their fault that SCEA believes the Vita is just a PS4 accessories a la the Wii U controller.

Yeah, but Nintendo's consoles have been a product of "head up the ass engineering" just as the Sony handhelds have been.

I'm sort of new to playstation (last one was the first one). And confused about how logging in works.

I have a primary login on the machine but I wont let me keep another login (2nd user) without having to type the login detail everytime as well as everything deleted from that log in when I log out. Sorry for my poor English.. it is my first language!

Is there a way of making the second login more permanent?

And while I'm at it... Where the f**k are my cloud saves? Gone from a nearly complete trials fusion back to 0%

What can he do? Say: "yes, they're a bunch of fucking assholes and I'm as tired and angry as you seeing the little effort they put on the Vita".

It's obvious he can't even if he thinks so, its company has an "oficial message" (or however you want it) and you need to go with it like it or not.

Considering how hard Shahid is working to get games on the platform. I found it sad and irritating that there is people acting like jerks. We may have a hamburger instead of beefsteak, but he is one of the few guys willing to "feed" us.

The fact that it's easy to reach him on Twitter doesn't mean we need to act like a bunch of butthurt teenagers.

(Don't take it personal about the second half, this is just how I feel about all this thing).

I understand that pent up emotions are released during E3 and there is a lot of frustration in the air right now, but yeah that doesn't mean you have the right to be disrespectful to anyone.

I am going to ask here because I am way too afraid of spoilers in the TLOU threads. Bought the game on launch day and haven't finished it, still quite early (didn't own a PS3 at that time).

Is the PS4 version in any way cross buy with the PS3 disc version or is there an upgrade option? Also, is there a cross-save feature?

Last I checked they were considering upgrade and/or discount options for the PSN version (because they have a system in place for that already).

What if you trade it in for the PS4 version? There is no upgrade option as far as I know.

The latter comes with all the DLCs. I think Season Pass was 20€. And I'm sure you can get quite a few bucks back if you do it now. If you're in the US retailers are doing some cool promotions every few weeks, so you could wait a little.

how much is the size of dlcs for Borderlands 2 Vita?

According to BlackLagoon's site Child of Light is coming to Vita? thats great!

Thanks!

PS TV seems interesting, does anybody know if also comes with a DualShock controller, I know it does in Japan, but I don't know about Europe?

At E3 they announced an equivalent bundle for the US that had a dualshock 3 controller and a copy of the Lego Movie game for $139. No word on an EU bundle just yet.

could it be that the shareholders/investors are actually blocking the team's hardwork? or the good old marketing team insisting to do what they think is better?

I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Lost Dimension just grabbed my interest.

The torgue one is near 1Gig, the pirate one is 700MB, so pretty big. And yes, its great that CoL is coming to vita, hopefully the rest of those Ubiarts game come too.

Im hoping LD isnt being published by Namco Bandai, more so by Xseed. I want this and Natural Doctrine as soon as possible, need my fix of VC.

^this

we need to take advantage of this opportunity to campaign for better Vita support. Say that this falls in line with false advertisement, because we were promised a gaming handheld not an accessory.
What Andrew House said is worrying as shit and I'm surprised that more people aren't shocked about his View on the Vita.

If VitaGaf wants to start something I'll help in any way I can.

Please give a link to the interview, thanks!

For SCEA to NOT show the Vita Sizzle Reel WHEN they had plenty of time to do so for TWO years in a row.....

What a damn joke. Not Shahid's fault but damn he needs to convince those above him to commit to the damn platform

The perception problem is the real issue here

Ghostlight recently teased aother JRPG pc port so this could be related.

Isn't Ghostlight a publisher? I thought NISA has publishing rights for Neptunia?

And there is also Idea Factory International. It's far more likely to have a PS4 port than a PC port, so I'd take it as an error until a formal announcement.

Yes Ghostlight is a publisher but they already ported some Idea Factory games to the PC like Record of Agarest War and Record of Agarest War Zero so it's not completely unthinkable.

I agree.

Though the Type 0 fail made him be less trustworthy to me. But I still appreciate his work, since that indie support is a miracle. I wish 3DS had a smilar quality indie output

Won a code for OlliOlli on Facebook. Crashed on me three times on my first five minutes (vita btw), but then managed to play 15 minutes with no problem.

Didn't they release a performance patch recently? Or is it yet to come?

The PS4 Netflix update that came out last week in the US has still not been released in Europe... what the fuck? HDMI-CDC & proper 5.1 have been massively missed and now they are dicking about despite the update being finished. ARGHHHH

amazing how we went from the positivity that came with the almost weekly Vita game announcements prior to E3 to a total doom mentality post-E3. sigh.

All of those game are still happening. My backlog is such that they could release no more games until Christmas and I still wouldn't clear it.

The Type 0 thing was too much for everyone to handle. I guess that if it was real, people will leave E3 satisfied, even if on reality the vita still dead, no exclusives, poor support, etc.

Just bought Ys Celceta, though and in two weeks Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma as well. Keeping the attach rate good, I guess.

I'm sorry Shahid, but nah:

0 TV ads since 2012.
Hardware bundles featuring games that consistently drop the ball.
Post-2012, 0 notable first-party games from US/Can based studios.*
Non-existent third party support.
Shovelware calibre ports positioned as things we should get excited about.*
E3 conference presence closer to rivalling time spent on multimedia functions than PS4/PS3.
"Indie-movement" on Vita forced to pretty much PS4/PS3/PSV, next to nothing exclusively tailored for the platform.

*SCE WWS problem.

The Type-0 announcement flub really sucked the wind out of our collective sails I think. Most everyone was expected a shitty E3 (just like last year) but to be so elated and then shot down in such a short period of time leaves one emotionally exhausted.

Luckily I bought Luftrausers and got all excited again.

Yeah, this. I like playing indie games on my Vita, but the fact that most of them are also playable on PS3/PS4 isn't doing the Vita any good.

Would you rather have PS3/PS4 excluded?

I for one like choice. Cross Play/Buy initiatives increase value ans make it easier to play with friends who otherwise dont buy the same things I do

Everyone bitches when shit is exclusive and now bitches when shit isn't?

You guys make no damn sense

There's no reason for something like Spelunky to be Vita exclusive on PSN. But at the same time, there's no shortage of games that exclusive to PS4 due to its hardware prowess. Vita may not be able to match PS4's visual strengths, but it has a unique hardware feature set that I feel is underutilized in games that are shared with other PlayStation platforms.

Choice is nice, I can't disagree with that, but the thing is that the Vita needs sales, and as long as the same games also release on home consoles, I think it makes the decision to not buy a Vita easier.

It would appear the Majority of Vita's exclusives will come from Japan (maybe one or two from US but mostly ports/multiplats)

That could be the best thing for it given the right games. I, for one, am super pumped to play Freedom Wars and Oreshika

He doesn't have to say anything. Comments like those are like condescending kicks to the shin; anyone who's following what's going on knows SCEA hasn't just dropped the ball with the vita, but rather done their best to give it a premature death.

I agree that almost all the hate Shahid gets is unwarranted but comments like those are utter nonsense.
