This has to be the pest picture of E3.

So you gain steam back by moving back to where you were but you can still pick up items while you are moving even if you don't commit?

Where is the risk in moving then?

If the enemy detects you your movement is locked. So if the enemy has maybe spotters your movement becomes very limited

Wait, this is Intelligent Systems take on XCOM?

Oh God.

Oh God.

Oh God.

OhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGod!!!!!!!!!!

Cant i always move to the edge of my range in all directions and then collect items and them commit to the place i want to move.

If an enem sees you then you get locked in. I'm sure the good items will have enemies around it.

I'm not a fan of the art-style either - heavy outlines and comics fonts remind me too much of some DS games, and the cut-scenes didn't impress for something that's going to be released three years after the 3DS was introduced - but I generally love strategy games made by Int. Sys., and I was also a fan of Valkyria Chronicles, so I'll probably give this one a chance. I might wait for some reviews, though, since right now the introduction of characters / plot aren't grabbing me either (I do appreciate the originality though).

Yeah this is looking really fun definitely getting this next year.

I can't say I'm overly fond of the art style but it's not like it's horrible looking. That would never be a reason to not get a game anyway (for me anyway).

I think they said in a comparison to VC, they will focus on more on the shooting mechanics, right? IDK, this seems more strategic than action so the shooting seems less like a shooter than VC.

I guess enemy overwatch? Could end your turn or limit your steam use.

They just called it Overwatch, isn't that what XCOM called it?

It's a mechanic present in a lot of games and video games. I think the gameplay is very interesting, you've got the classic staples of the genre (AP, Overwatch, different units with different abilities) and cool things like the fact that there is no overhead camera view.

I do not like the audio so far though but after spending so much time on Xcom, I'm obviously sold on this.

Specials can only be used once per mission. I can just imagine someone wasting them on a tough enemy, only to be ambushed by five of them later in the mission.

you're watching a live stream

I also watched Smash and Bayonetta through the same stream and both looked smooth as butter (even though initially I though Bayonetta was iffy too, but I changed my stream quality and it fixed. I tried the same thing this time but nothing happened).

That Miyamoto pic is great. <3

Hm why? The artstyle in those portraits reminds me of something. Maybe a mix of Daigasso and Steamworld Dig? :o

Thought of Steamworld as well, even the colouring is similiar. (Well, I guess because gold/red is the go to colour if you want to get that Steam Punk look right)

Hope we get some gameplay without commentary at some point.
