The Star Fox insignias on the security cameras do make me wonder if this prototype, along with the robot one, will somehow be folded into a Star Fox variety game. The thing about Miyamoto's technical prototypes, as anyone who followed the enigma that was Mario 128 will know, is that he splits and combines his ideas across multiple finished products. This may no longer be the case given how many small-scale first-party projects wind up on the eShop these days, but the possibility is worth considering.

Variety games might be the future, Sakamoto recently said in a post-Tomodachi Life interview that he no longer enjoys making traditional games (unless it's a special occassion).

Every time I tune into this, they are playing a game I have already seen. It has mostly been Splatoon (Which I think looks great but we just keep seeing the same mode and map over and over), Smash, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta, Xenoblade, and the two Projects. I have never been watching it while they show Captain Toad and Kirby. It would also be nice to see more Mario Maker.

xenoblade for the wii was the same way..

it's just part of the franchise... bad character models, amazing overworld.
