PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

So I'm bummed about the type 0 debacle.

Haven't been in a vita thread in a long time but I was going to ask of anyone tried that Vita Pets game that just came out. Any impressions?

Okay so I just transferred Soul Sacrifice from my Vita to my PC.
Is it safe to delete SS off the Vita and then if I want to revisit the game + my save I can just transfer it from the PC?

Also really disappointed in Strikers 1945 plus. What a sloppy port. The difficulty is set to something ridiculous, you only get 2 lives, and for whatever reason the ship is invisible at the beginning of each stage.
Waste of a couple bucks.

Please don't insult our intelligence.

Maybe is already known but well:
Gradius Collection is on European store (9,99€), it only says PSP, can anybody confirm it's not Vita compatible?

Someone earlier said that it doesn't work. Konami are morons for releasing a bunch of their PSP back catalog on PSN and not pushing SCEE to make them Vita compatible. We had the mini-debacle of the Silent Hill PSP games not too long ago.

Thanks!, just this was my fear after Silent Hill fiasco XD, so sad, It was one great PSP title I was looking at. :S

"Indie-movement" on Vita forced to pretty much PS4/PS3/PSV, next to nothing exclusively tailored for the platform.

Yeah, this. I like playing indie games on my Vita, but the fact that most of them are also playable on PS3/PS4 isn't doing the Vita any good.

I really don't know about that. I think it's amazing Vita is getting all of these indies. The 3DS doesn't get them like the Vita does, and if mobile platforms to get them they are usually modified to function with touch/tilt controls (read: butchered). The Vita is the only true portable platform that gets all of these high quality indie titles in their proper form.

Most releases of indie games are simultaneous between PS3/4 and Vita. It's not a port machine or secondary platform in this regard, it's just another platform.

Anyway I've been playing games for a long time, well over 25 years now. I don't know if that has anything to do with my taste in games but in the past few years I've turned away from most of the big budget games.

I've turned into one of those assholes that watches movies with subtitles and turns his nose up at the latest summer blockbuster (but for games rather than film).

That's not to say all big budget games are bad, there are some good ones, but the majority of my game time now is sucked in by games like Spelunky. So for me, having all of these indies available to me in my pocket is the best thing I could ask for.

Besides, it's not like having the indie games on the Vita is hurting the system. If they stopped getting published on Vita there's no definite way to know that it would mean we got more "AAA" games in their place.

What can he do? Say: "yes, they're a bunch of fucking assholes and I'm as tired and angry as you seeing the little effort they put on the Vita".

It's obvious he can't even if he thinks so, its company has an "oficial message" (or however you want it) and you need to go with it like it or not.

Considering how hard Shahid is working to get games on the platform. I found it sad and irritating that there is people acting like jerks. We may have a hamburger instead of beefsteak, but he is one of the few guys willing to "feed" us.

The fact that it's easy to reach him on Twitter doesn't mean we need to act like a bunch of butthurt teenagers.

(Don't take it personal about the second half, this is just how I feel about all this thing).

I have 0 problems with Shahid himself. I think he's amazing and wish he had a twin brother working for SCEA. SCEA is the problem, whether Shahid admits it or not.

And as far as what could he say? Nothing. There's no reason he has to respond at all... responding and towing the company line as he did is just going to piss more people off and make him a target more than he already is.

I am not sure if it's SCEA, but someone should tweet that "ultimate portable entertainment" thing back then as a response :P

Awesome.

For SCEA to NOT show the Vita Sizzle Reel WHEN they had plenty of time to do so for TWO years in a row.....

What a damn joke. Not Shahid's fault but damn he needs to convince those above him to commit to the damn platform

The perception problem is the real issue here

I agree.
SCEA couldn't spare 2 minutes for that sizzle real after you claim that it's a key pillar of your platform? For really real?
Maybe Tretton's replacement will not drop the ball, but I think Adam Boyes is also part of the problem.

I don't get when people say that Sony puts no efforts on the Vita.
They got 1st party titles from popular IPs (Uncharted, Resistance, LBP, etc), new IPs (Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Freedom Wars, etc), they made an effort to get big 3rd parties franchise such as CoD and Assassin Creed, they created a team to help port/localize games, they're responsible for most indie games releases, heck they even offered to help Respawn to develop a version of Titanfall for the Vita. It's not their damn fault that no developers wants to have anything to do with the Vita. I wouldn't be surprise if they went to Rockstar for a GTA Vita game and they flat out refused.

The Type-0 announcement flub really sucked the wind out of our collective sails I think. Most everyone was expected a shitty E3 (just like last year) but to be so elated and then shot down in such a short period of time leaves one emotionally exhausted.

Luckily I bought Luftrausers and got all excited again.

This perfectly describes me. Minus Luftrausers. I bought that the day it went up on PSN :)

So, as far as I can tell, no 64GB memory card announcement for NA. I have half a mind to go ahead and import from SuperUFO. Think Sony has anything still up their sleeve for Vita?
Who am I kidding, their Vita shirt is sleeveless.

I forgot about the 64GB memory card... That would have been a welcomed announcement.

I'm £8 down and can confirm it doesn't.

An accessory for streaming content doesn't need memory.

Let me tell you, even if SCEA releases the 64GB Memory Card in North America, it still won't be cheaper than Super UFO's $86 price-tag. I'll save the waiting and import it already.

IGN spent more time talking to Shu about Vita than SCEA did during their press conference: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/06/12/podcast-beyond-episode-346-playstations-e3-and-shuhei-yoshida

He basically says that PS4 is new and there's only so much time in a press conference (where was this in E3 2012 and 2013?). So clearly SCEA needed to trim down Vita's stage time to make more room for Comic Book Mafia. Greg Miller tried to lead him down some BS path about how we're all super happy about the situation.

also :lol at Yoshida's sigh and then dead silence when Type-0 was spoken about

What if you trade it in for the PS4 version? There is no upgrade option as far as I know.

The latter comes with all the DLCs. I think Season Pass was 20€. And I'm sure you can get quite a few bucks back if you do it now. If you're in the US retailers are doing some cool promotions every few weeks, so you could wait a little.

Thanks.
Just went abroad for the next 3 months so I can't sell it. I am based in Germany anyway.
What about cross save? Not planning to play the start again.

Looks like ChirsD called it right then. That sucks. I remember that happened to me as well before. I didn't mind though since I was grinding for Diva points during my "Perfect" run. That x3 Diva bonus pack was great for grinding and teaching me how to get the perfects.

Yep. I've been using it and buying the shit out of costumes.

Nice that PS+ is $40 on Amazon, just got that and downloading Thomas Was Alone, PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate and bought Rainbow Moon.

It's Vita compatible on US PSN, but I've heard no reports of it working for EU PSN members.

I wasn't interested in Destiny at first because of its mandatory online, but there are so few PS4 games I care about right now that the alpha has become a welcome distraction. This 6.7 GB download is going to take a long time... :/

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Went ahead and took the plunge. I'll see if I can make it with my 8GB for another 21 days while it ships...

Was waiting for E3 to see if the 64 gig memory card would come to North America. Guess it's not happening?

What's the best/cheapest place online to order the Vita 64 gig memory card? Also, are there any tricks to getting it working on a North American version of the system?

People here seem to talk about SuperUFO as a good place to grab one. As for getting it to work, the hardware is universal - plug and play.

Not bad amazon, I got a $25 promotional credit off a 1-year PS+ subscription for buying a PS4, and 1-year PS+ is currently on sale on amazon for $40, so I got a year for $15 out of pocket. Was going to wait till black Friday but this is a pretty sweet deal.
