It was going slow for me, as well, but restarting the download through settings -> network -> Connect to the Internet worked fantastically. It's a ~20 min download now.
 
ok fellow hunters. does anyone know where to find cayde-6. i've looked everywhere and am at a loss. and can't enter the hall of guardians in the center. is that normal?

I'm somewhat impressed at initial balance, weapon-wise, in the competitive multiplayer. Most players were using autorifles and doing fine, and I heard a couple phase rifles (though I didn't have luck using one), but it really shocked me that I was at no competitive disadvantage with a hand cannon. Really, whatever type of weapon you're most comfortable with, it seems like it should be perfectly usable.

Dumbest thing ever, I felt so sosososososo stupid. Walked all over the place.

You have to go down the little tunnel in front of the closed gate... Yeah. I didn't see it either.
 
So i finally get my email for the destiny alpha and I'm getting an error redeeming it? Come on... I want in on this already. "Too many codes entered"? How long am I supposed to wait for this to clear?
 
Played a few games and I'm still terrible at FPS ;p but I'm enjoying it, haven't stuck with any FPS for an extended period of time since MW2, feels like this will change that.

Man, that Golden Gun makes short work of the first boss, lol. Really loving the creepy feel when you have to dig the flashlight out. Feels almost Alienesque with quys rushing you.
 
My good people I pressed "Share" a couple of time to get some neat screenshots but when I closed the application and went to see them, not a single one was found.

Is there something I may have missed? Thanks in advance! :)
 
Pretty awesome so far. I can finally realize what this game is, haha.

Also, spawning into your vehicle and driving with other peeps is so awesome.
 
Only just took my first steps in to Destiny. Did a little dance and jumped on my Sparrow to cruise around before navigating the menus and heading off for The Tower.

The amount of polish and detail though for being a "alpha" is superb. I love looking at my gear and the camera zooming in on it as it's equipped on my guardian. The little things. lol

holy shit, i don't feel so bad antitrop. i was just coming to post that i had found those fucking stairs. don't know how i missed them either. ha ha.
 
Game is pretty great

I feel the controls need to be tightened up a bit more, sometimes too sluggish and hopefully fps maintained. Otherwise this is a winner.
 
I was supposed to be studying for my SQL midterm tomorrow. I am instead looking at my screen, staring at the download go by slowly. Can't wait to create my character!
 
I played for an hour and had a blast with it. It's the first game on the PS4 that I would actually call next gen. The visuals were fantastic, especially the field with the rusted airplanes.
 
My download starts off super fast whenever I stop and restart (by disconnecting internet). Like 45 minutes.

But then after about a minute, it slows dramatically to 10+ hours.
 
I am enjoying the game, but if have no idea what the story is, I am just running around doing missions, snorting people up. Can someone explain the general premise of the game?

Oh absolutely.

Finished every single Halo game and loved most of them.
Up until last week I didn't have a good grasp on Destiny though and seeing the description of it being a cross between Halo and Borderlands didn't quite set my world on fire.
But after the developer commentary and Giant Bomb play through I started to get pretty hyped.

Well I just played for nearly 4 hours non-stop and hit the level cap for the Alpha. Haven't even tried the pvp mode yet and not sure if I will since the alpha is so short.
The initial reaction is certainly a little underwhelming, but that quickly changes once you find a weapon you really like and start getting some new abilities, not to mention getting into some classic Bungie battles. :)

Like others have mentioned, I'm also surprised at the depth of the customisations and how everything really does come together.
The graphics are a little underwhelming though, but perhaps it's simply because it's alpha code. That being said it's a combination of looking beautiful, while at the same time being a little bit disappointing visually speaking. Hard to explain.
Then again, it's an engine that is created to run on several architectures, so that's what you get I suppose.

Glad I preordered the game so I didn't have to wait till the release date and can just look forward to the Beta next month. :)

Hadn't had such a NOPE NOPE NOPE!!! moment in a game in a long time! :D
 
I redeemed my code from my phone. I was hoping to remote download the alpha before I get back home, but it just listed the alpha under media with no option to download it. Am I missing something? Doesn't appear in my download list either.

Edit: nm, got it workng. Downloading now!
