I know that alpha progress doesn't carry over into the retail version, but does anyone know whether has Bungie said anything about whether they plan to let beta progress carry over? I'm having so much fun with this alpha that I'm sitting here wishing my progress would carry over!
holy crap this game. i'm loving it. found the balcony to look out at the big sphere thing (can't remember the name, but anywhat) and the skybox is gorgeous. then i went to the hangar in my stumbling around looking for the hall of guardians and found out you can buy new ships. this fucking game. possible goty material right here. and that's just based on my short time with the alpha. can you fucking imagine the final product.

Depends on your connection it seems.
Over here it was downloaded in about 22 minutes.
The patch is only 60MB or so, don't worry about it.
You have to do a lot of damage at once. When you're ducked around a corner regenerating your shields, so is he. I usually kill as man minions as I can, wait until my grenade and super are charged, hit him with a grenade, hit him with your super, empty your clip and punch if necessary.

Got to play it. Had a ton of fun for a good hour or so, graphics are great

My good people I pressed "Share" a couple of time to get some neat screenshots but when I closed the application and went to see them, not a single one was found.
Is there something I may have missed? Thanks in advance!

I had this same issue with the UFC demo. Double tapped share button to record. After match I go to share the clip. Nothing there

I find the combat very shallow, and the enemy placement/combat scenarios pretty by the numbers.
But I am enjoying the game, in many ways as a social experience, coupled with decent level design and unbelievable scenery, it creates a sense of belonging, which I dismissed from just watching the videos.

This game is going to absolutely shine in multiplayer. I am definitely enjoying it and I am absolutely impressed with what is happening with this.

Loving this game.
Not really all that big, but still quite sizeable for an alpha.
The surprising part for me is just how much you can do in such a small place without getting bored.
And then thinking of all the possibilities when the full game comes out. It's gonna be crazy!

What do you have your Share button set to? Standard or Easy? They changed the way Standard works in that you are required to hit the Triangle button in order to actually save the screenshot. I lost a Hardline screenshot earlier today because I wasn't aware of this change.

nope. there was a small (60 mb or so) update that downloaded simultaneously with my main download. was good to go once the big one got done.

Was in a neat cave off after going through an area for a beacon mission. Can't remember what the enemies themselves were, just that I definitely did not belong =p
I think the actual area was after going through a building past where there are a lot of level 8 enemies above ground. The enemies inside were a bit lower, but it ultimately led to that cave.
How the fuck do you kill those mofo.
It's like if there were invincible.
You can't, they're Bungies little gate keepers to make sure you stay in the designated areas.

I don't think I was really aware of what this game was until now. I just finished The Dark Within on Brave and it's really fun. I guess I didn't know just how much this game was like an RPG.
However, I fear that this is going to be like Borderlands in that it's really not balanced around solo play, but mainly for co-op, and I don't play co-op.
Edit: Also, hope that main character VA is placeholder. It probably is.

I had the same feeling playing it. This will sell millions and millions of copies for years to come.
