For being an alpha build, i'm pretty impressed. The score is absolutely amazing and the art direction and design are both fantastic. The only thing that's bothering me is the lack of 60fps. Now that it's basically become a "requirement" for all current-gen games, it's pretty hard to adjust to at first.
The chatter my character was giving during the first mission or whatever it's called was...dull. The delivery of the lines were poor, and the exposition through dialogue trick was...also poor, to put it kindly. I hope it was just a place holder.
The gunplay, it felt better than I was expecting. Shooters on this scale tend to have either weak gun mechanics, or guns that feel incredibly weak, have no weight, don't sound good, bad shooting and reload animations, etc. Bungie has it all right. I mean...it's Bungie. Adding on to all of that, the one thing I was looking forward to most and most cautious of was the enemy ai. Destiny gets compared to Borderlands a lot, and for understandable reasons. One of the things I hate about Borderlands
is that the enemies simply have ZERO hit-reaction. They do not stumble, fall, start shooting all over the place when hit, stop mid-shooting when shot, etc. This made every counter incredibly hard for no good reason, and always resulted in you constantly getting shot. In Destiny, all of these complaints are gone. I haven't played enough PvE to have formed an opinion on the actual intelligence of the enemies, but the aforementioned components alone are enough to have my interest.
Played two matches of PvP, had an awesome moment happen and the damn PS4 didn't record shit. Still, it was fun. I'm gonna log back on in a bit and play more, but from the first two matches, I had some fun. Protip: you don't HAVE to run in a circle with your team capturing the same points.
