Any other way to get to the screen to chose a guardian without closing the gave and starting up again?

"Change character"
Go to the menu (start) and click R1.
what do you think is not balanced in PVP ?
People (like me) can take in 106+ damage weapons and wreck people easily. Humans are defenseless against vehicles 90% of the time. Turrets are incredibly OP unless you're right up next to them. Supers are fun and satisfying, but they get annoying. It might just be me.

On another note, the maps are "okay." I don't really like them. Not being able to use sparrows on the Earth map sucks too.

I love the halo-esque weapons in the game. I've got a close range rifle thats similar to using the Spartan Laser and theres those Fallen using the Needler guns. lol

But I don't care, this isn't Halo and I haven't played Halo (why would you release a game on Playstation and expect its users to have played a game that's not available on Playstation?). I don't see why I should adapt my habits (which come from decades of racing games on many different platforms) to them and not the other way around

Heh theres the prob I guess. Best get used to it. These vehicle controls have been the standard in Halo since the begining. It does take a while to get used to but once you do driving is a lot of fun.

I've had exactly zero problems playing FPS on the DS4 and I played a ton of Battlefield on 360. If anyone had muscle memory it would be me, but I've had no awkwardness at all.

Maybe my hands fall in the main demographic they used to make both controllers.

This game has hooked me. I already had it preordered for the beta but now I might even skip the beta. Next time I start, I don't wanna stop or reset.

So far I love the Warlock. Titan is more in your face and I love the armor designs. Haven't tried the Hunter yet. Really don't like their looks. Love that I even have a race choice! I love options

Well I think I've got to stop playing this Alpha or I'm going to end up hating the game. I'm not sure if it's the sluggish controls because I'm using a DS4 or what, but right now it's almost impossible to play a twitch game like this for me. See you in September on XB1, I guess. Shame as I was looking forward to getting stuck into this on the weekend. :(

Played for about an hour earlier, thought it was pretty awesome. PSN ID is Cdoogs if any gaffers want to do some exploration, multiplayer, etc.

I'm curious why you think it'll be more twitchy on X1 , it's not the pad making the controls feel slow

Did you bump up the controller sensitivity? That helps a lot. What hurts the Alpha is there's no variety to the missions. The story mission is as bland as the secondary missions. I hope they're just in the alpha to provide a reason to explore Old Russia and that in the final game there will be NPCs and other characters to add life to that level.

Uch, the DS4 is such an awful pad for FPS.

I wouldn't say it's awful, but I'm not a fan of it when playing shooters. My hands slip around and the triggers just don't feel great. Haven't played many shooters on the PS4 other than Destiny so I'm noticing the little things that bug me about it. Overall though it's pretty solid.

It's a huge step up over the PS3 obviously, but I still prefer the XO's controller for pretty much everything.

Yea so it seems the Hunter got the short end of the stick in a lot of areas. I haven't tried Warlock yet but it seems Titan is the way to go.

i wasn't going to go out of my way to try this, but lo and behold i hop on just now and see i've been invited to give it a try. i feel so special. guess i'll have to read up about the game more before i start

I think I am pretty much done with this Alpha. There just isn't enough content or variety for me to enjoy it for much longer.
I have played it for a little over 20 hours already over the course of the last 3 days and I don't really think there is much left to do. I went to the caves under the crashed ship in the restricted area, found a bunch of dead ends, did way too many of those beacon missions (which aren't any fun) and I beat the strike twice. The PVP feels unbalanced to me and I am not a huge fan.

I will buy it (preordered it a while ago) but I hope the full game has more variety and content that does not consist of bad side missions.

You put 20 hours in the Alpha?! Dear lord that's nuts...

PvP feels odd. I was under the impression that all the weapons were normalized. If that's the case, and I have no reason to believe it is not, time to kill feels far too fast. The vehicles are also extremely powerful and combined with the time to kill reduces my enjoyment of the game. I am enjoying the PvE elements, but I want PvP to be better and more focused on. I know it is an alpha, but PvP feels like an afterthought.

Could you explain? How do the Hunter and the Titan compare with each other?

The Hunter Special is way underpowered compared to the Titan. Also looking at the abilities, the Titan stuff seems absolutely devasting if done properly. The throwing knife for the Hunter is very good but then some of the Titan melee stuff makes up for it.

The look mechanics for hipfire are pretty dreadful IMO. ADS seems better, but still too acceleration happy. And 30fps for a shooter... ugh... and honestly it doesn't look that great, so I wonder what the frames are sacrificed for. The lore comes off as super cheesy. "That wizard must have come down from the moon!" Lol ok. I was pondering this as a PS4 purchase, but I think after trying it out, it's PC or bust for me on this one. I haven't gotten into Borderlands or anything along those lines yet. I'll give it some more time over the next day or two and see if it clicks.

I'm not seeing a top tier shooter franchise juggernaut here personally.

Have you tried turning up the sensitivity if you find it sluggish? It's set to 3/10 as default.

Wow 20 hours in an alpha already? That's insane!

I've had no issues using the DS4 so far. Pulling headshots fine after a couple of hours play. Last gen I played 99% of games on 360 and find the DS4 a great controller so far, I vastly prefer the bumpers/triggers on it compared to the Xbone controller.

Don't understand the DS4 hatred... the sticks are much twitchier' than any other controller...

I feel the same way. I'd use the DS4 on my PC if the Bluetooth wasn't so wonky when I try to re-pair it. I still love the 360 controller and will probably get a One controller if they make it wireless on PC.
