I have a feeling this spot will be sat upon a lot.

Playing as warlock, I am continually frustrated with the jump. I watch others easily jump to heights I simply can't reach.

Also, the audio is super jacked, I had to change my 7 ch surround to multi channel stereo just to hear my ghost without straining.

Also, the lack of a meaningful 'skill tree' really is lame. Yes, I see there is some diversity with weapons and armor, but it doesn't feel diverse yet.

I will certainly play again in the beta, and give it another shot, but honestly the latest final fantasy MMO was done much better.

Why in goodness name is the menu interface handled through a cursor if I can't use the touch-pad to move the icon? It works well for text entry elsewhere on the system, why not here?

Good point. The interaction with the npc's is also weird.

All in all it solidified my preorder. Main thing i do not like at the moment is the exploration missions. Not only there is not enough variety but they can send you from one end of the map to the next. Also today i got 6 that all send me to the same place. That was .. not optimal.

Really? I'm not so certain, as upgrading basically consists of either unlocking or switching out armor "skill" loadouts.

I dunno, look at my inventory right now there definitely appears to be some plans for using materials for upgrades as you have the Weapon Parts material with the description of "For weapon upgrades and repairs," and then for the Hunter class you have Sapphire Wire which is a bit more vague in it's description of "A favorite of Hunters because of its versatility, this wire is incorporated into almost all Hunter gear." And then the Materials category's description is "Useful for equipment upgrades and more."

I'm not sure if my armor upgrade did consume an item from my inventory or not anymore but I think it's a pretty good bet you'll be able to use materials to upgrade weapons and armor.

Edit: Actually went and looked at level 20 gear to see, and yup, some upgrades require materials.

Does anyone know that those bracelets are for? I think they are called bonds.

In the warlock skill tree there is a move called blink that replaces glide. But instead of being bound to x. it is bound to L1. Does that mean you would love the ability to throw a grenade?

And what use is "illumination" when it locks all your choices? Could that be reversed? I really want to discover me. I need the beta to decide what Im going to do

Played a few hours earlier and really enjoyed it. Got to lvl 7 I think.

Only negatives so far personally are the bullet sponge bosses, and the voice work. It doesn't seem to fit. Especially the companion guy. I could've sworn I heard Morrigan from Dragon Age too.

I'm a bit concerned about the repetitive nature of the missions whilst exploring. But it's hard to tell how much story / strike missions there'll be to keep it from getting stale.

Only had 1 quick round of crucible. It's very rare that I play competitive MP these days, so I can't see myself investing lots of time in that mode.

I'm gonna play some more tomorrow before the alpha ends.

Not all.

Announcer voice is an actual joke and absolutely needs to be replaced.
As for Ghost, Peter Dinklage either had horrible directing or phoned it in.
I don't think so. I've been playing the game a while. I've gotten used to them. They're okay, but not the best. Could be improved, yeah.

So after preordering you would redeem the code where? PS Store or Bungie's portal?

It took me a while to get used to it. It continues whatever your trajectory is when you hit jump again. So if you jump forward and hit jump immediately you will glide forward. To go high hit jump again while you are at maximum upward velocity and you will keep going higher. Don't try to use it like double jump.

Well, I really wanted to like the Alpha, but I couldn't give it a fair shake because there is no Camera control option to invert X-Axis, only the Y-Axis. I spent most of my time frustrated by the controls and unable to enjoy the content. I really hope Bungie patches it in since it seems like such a simple thing and so many other games offer it. Gave up after 2 hours and not really completing much of anything.

For all the people whining about dinklages voice. If you check the destiny trailer you notice it has a different robotic ring to it, my guess. They haven't gotten around to robofying all the dialogue yet.

What? The warlock jump is capable of pretty great heights. You just have to initiate it while going up early in your jump. It's dependent on your momentum when you start it. I vastly prefer the Warlock's jump to the Titan's, personally, since to me it feels like an upgraded version of it. That said, I'm more of a Hunter person.

man this game is addictive as hell. Max out my Warlock but i still just explore around looking to see what trouble I can get into. PvP is really good, very fun. I was upset that the max lvl is 8, I didn't even think about a level cap....I got all this lvl 9 + armor and nothing to do with it :/

I'm enjoying this a lot more than I expected too, just a tad annoyed that it requires a constant internet connection for this. Less about them, more that I've just switched to a new ISP and my connection is jittery right now.
Only managed to play around half an hour, but I'm really liking the Hunter class. Once I've finished the single player stuff I'm going to try a different class.

I think I've explored most of what the Alpha has to offer besides those insanely high level areas I can't get by.

Stoked for the Beta! Hope it has more though

I thought I'd run out of time to go through all the content in the alpha, but it's surprisingly not that much.

I'll probably max out the gear I can and chill in Crucible until it ends.

Not sure what to make of this game. I guess there is no offline mode? Everywhere i went i was playing with people and had no idea how to control those settings, but i guess since its alpha test you wouldnt be able to anyway.

I mean, it looks beautiful, sounds great, seems like it could be great but im scratching my head a bit on the mission structure. Im still not really sure what this game is.

Also it seems really confusing when it comes to getting items and knowing what it is you are picking up. Im still not sure where i get items and ammo and every now and then i check my inventory and see i picked up some new weapon that i had no idea how i got. On Earth i kept picking up missions not sure if they were supposed to end? They seemed to be constantly respawning enemies and missions.

Puzzling game.

Played for a few hours with two friends, got to level 8, beat "The Devil's Lair" on legendary difficulty.

I really like it. I have a feeling that this is going to be the game to play this year.

Played the single player parts and walked around the world. I thought it was alright but I'm not sold yet. I'll give the beta a chance atleast. That voice should change though, his delivery of "that wizard came from the moon" was hilarious but I don't think it was intentional.

For people that think this is boring, do either the story mission or the Strike on Legend difficulty instead of Brave. If you don't already know what sets this game apart from Borderlands, that will teach you.

Really enjoying the Alpha so far. My only real complaint so far is that the world feels rather...empty. I'm hoping that by the time the final game launches Bungie will have added more loot drops and items scattered about. There's times where you'll be wandering through corridors and unless you run into enemies, you'll never see any ammo/loot. Maybe it's designed that way on purpose but just something I noticed while playing. Overall I really dig the gameplay and I can see myself putting ALOT of time into Destiny. Awesome game.

Where do you set difficulty? I must have missed a whole section of this game. Im hearing of strike missions and names and shit i have no idea where they are.

Love the game, and will pre-order it, it's a must buy for me.

However, here's my main problems with the game.

- Probably has the worst haircut selection I've seen in a game. All of them are just hilariously bad that I was wondering if Bungie purposely made them having bad helmet hair. Get some normal hairstyles please.

- Dinklage. I get what Bungie was trying to do with him but it's failing. Maybe what could help is to add a robotic filter to the voice? That will help the robot lifelessness to actually make sense. Plus the voice is too 'clear'. It's like a narration rather than coming from the AI companion.

- Also have some asian looking faces in the character customisation please?

No offense to you or anything, but when did you decide to start flipping the x axis in shooter games? I don't think I've ever met anyone who as done that. Y axis, yeah, but never the X.
