While I agree, at the same time there really wasn't a need to show the initial one where it wasn't over the goal line.
I assume it's automatic and the system flagged it up because it was close to the line. That does need sorting out, though, even if they just remove the 'no goal' message from incidents that ultimately result in a goal.

3 points by Pogba on my fantasy team. Just like Iniesta. Well, that sucks.

Honduras won't stop until they break some legs today lol.

i fear as if this Honduras team will just make "CONCACAF lol" a thing again even if USA, Costa Rica and Mexico qualify to the next round

That second goal wouldn't have been given without goal-line technology, glad we finally have the most basic technology in football.

Basic technology? I feel like this is far more sophisticated technology than instant replays to check fouls and trips.... :S

Okay the controversy is that the GLT is hooked up to the screen in the stadium that's used to to display text to the fans.

The text "NO GOAL" showed in response to the first hit.

Then the text "GOAL" showed.

There's no video accompanying this on the screen, so the context is lost.

It doesn't need any sorting. The tech worked. If they hadn't shown the first near goal they haters would use that against it. People just aren't used to it. It also doesn't help hearing shitty commentators saying they don't understand what's being shown.

Is line technology going to be standard? It should also be implemented for offside.

Might not be so easy. For the goal you only need a cam in a fixed angle at the posts. Off side can be at any position on the field. So you would need camera's every where, or better, camera's in the top tracking individual players and software to use it correctly.

LOL!! Too funny!!

Finally those Goal line Tech deniers are put to their place, this is exactly why the technology was put in place for!!!

One of the Spanish commentators here did not want to accept the second goal. Like he straight up ignored the goal tech. Lol

It's a joke man. I don't think that goal would have ever been given by human eyes had there been no technology and these people are acting like it's somehow a bad thing.

Pure jackassery. The guys on ESPN were doubting it too.
