PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

I have to say something to everybody here: I'm playing Mind Zero and I'm actually enjoying it. I think it's because I love DRPGs, or else I'd hate the game, but it's pretty fun game and I like the "Burst" system. I haven't finished the game and reached "that ending", but so far, I feel like it was worth the money for me.

Edit: Top of the page... Buy Mind Zero if you like DRPGs, but only if you already have Demon Gaze.

or because the vita flopped, so making a game for it looks like high risk, low reward game. Seeing their financials, they can't risk jumping on a possible sinker. Hooray for sequels / MMOs / Mobile!

Will definitely pick up Spelunky and Persona 4: Golden. Soul Sacrifice Delta looks interesting too.

I say "better" because gyro aiming is amazing, "stealth" isn't utterly useless like in the original Uncharted and it doesn't suffer the wave after wave problem in Drake's Fortune (same area, 3 waves of dudes coming from different angles). Chapters are shorter than in the homeconsole titles but there are more than usual.

Enviroments are as diverse as they're in the original Uncharted. You'll go through a jungle 2 times, fight in some secret base and two sets of ruins that are fairly different from each other. Setpieces aren't that impresive, but they weren't in Drake's Fortune either.

I'd say the game is quite good, I really liked it, I got the platinum. Give it a try.

The R-Type games were removed from PSN due to Irem going crazy and becoming an exclusively pachinko company.

If Square have enough manpower, I bet they will transform Dissidia in something like Persona 4 Arena (and by that I mean only on home consoles), unfortunately.

I thought about buying Mind Zero, but the buzz about the ending made me give up, I can't stand bad endings (not sad endings, bad structured endings).

Dissidia 011 for PS Vita confirmed. <--- Sorry, that's actually a TypO. It's for PS4 and Xbone.

I effing hate you CardinalMind. I already forgot about Marie Rose and NyoTengu and you had to remind me. If I end up buying the game, and spend less than 10 hour on it (exc. the time ogling Marie Rose and NyoTengu), I am going to stab you on the foot while you're not looking.

Try Safe Mode; turn it off, then hold Power, the PS button, and R for five seconds. Then select Rebuild Database.

Should work!
 
Did they ever release the patch that fixes the OlliOlli crashes? I just bought it on the EU Sale, and I crashed within 10mins. Its been okay for about 20mins afterwards, but still a bit annoyed.

About Dissidia, Square-Enix does have the manpower, but I don't think they see the profits working out for them. About Mind Zero, I'm keeping spoilers to a minimum for myself to check the ending and have a proper opinion. I'll share my opinion here after I finish the game, let people know if the ending is that bad.

Anyone know of a decent website you can buy prepaid cards from for PSN which are cheaper than their actual value? They come up now and again on here but until now I've not paid too much attention. I really want to get Destiny digitally, but FUCK paying £55 for it.

This place is selling £35 codes for £30.50 which is a decent deal, so a couple of those and the digital cost of Destiny is closer to the £45 for retail on Amazon.

Anyone used this site, or know of a better alternative?

Vita flopped but IIRC Vita is at 6 millions while PS4 is at 7 and XB1 at 4-5, in Japan Vita is the one that sell more than the other two, as you can see Vita numbers are not as bad as people think compared to the home consoles, but that didn't stop Square from ignoring Vita with Type 0, Square just decided to be assholes.
 
Just played Sly 4 and it's great.

I don't know if it has something to do with the graphics or the way it plays but it feels like I'm back to the PS2 era.

I missed out on all the Sony exclusives during the PS2 era lol. The only one I was interested in as a kid was Jak and Dexter.

Regarding the ending (obvious spoilers?):
It isn't so much that it's 'bad' IMO but they're definitely setting up for a "Mind One" with the ending.

Biggerish spoiler here:
It basically ends with a huge cliffhanger and "This is only the beginning..." is one of the last prompts you see.

It was mentioned before (first few pages of the thread) and announced about four months ago but the impressions are sort of iffy for it.

The general consensus seems to be that it's a bit like a Newgrounds Flash-ish side scrolling action RPG and cheap feeling. It reminds me of Ragnarok Battle Offline and maybe a less closed in version of Fairy Bloom Freesia.

However, does the list actually mean I can buy it from the web store and then download it from there on my Vita?

Also guys, I saw that the Hot Shots games are on sale, I just grabbed the first for only $2 (thank you PS+!), I was not aware of this at all even after checking sales on the web store.

I own Crash Tag Team Racing on PSN. You can't download it to Vita. Activision is being dumb and doesn't want any of the Crash/Spyro games working on the platform.

Also, you can't download anything from the webstore.

The Metal Gear company sucks. The majority of Konami's PSP/PSone catalogue on PSN aren't directly downloadable on Vita for some reason. This means no Silent Hill, Gradius Collection, PES and fuck, even no Metal Gear Solid without owning a PS3 to transfer the games to. I've ask the Konami guy who posts on GAF about this, and he said to bug SCEA. Yeah, like they listen to Vita owners ...

What? Activision is the one who should be embarrassed about that. They're still charging $50 for that wreck on PSN, and unlike the retail version it doesn't even come with the PSP CoD.

They announced the patch for that couple of days ago. It should be online before 20th June.

Edit - they also suggested turning off Wi-Fi on your Vita, it seems to help with those crashes. Haven't tried that myself, so I can't say if it works or not tho.

By the way, anyone else noticed that PS4 now has notifications for blocking share functions when you hit some spoilerific parts of games? I noticed it in MGS V: Ground Zeroes, and it's annoying - when final cut-scene starts (or when those post-credit sequences start after side missions), there's a big-ass notification in the upper right corner telling you that you can't record gameplay during those parts. And it seems you can't turn that notification off :(

I prefered their earlier approach - no notifications until you press the Share button during those "blocked" parts.
