Wake me up when september ends
Or when the beta begins
haha have you guys noticed you can hit the drop ships and it shows damage numbers?
You can shoot the turrets off the front of them.
So what is the maximum number of players that can be roaming around shooting dudes co-operatively? I had 5 at one point, thought it was only 4.
Well I've got a little under 2 hours to try to see this.If you go to the Coast, there's a chance that a group of enemies spawn riding Pikes (They're similar to Ghosts from Halo). You can kill the driver and ride that around killing anything in your way.
I just wanted to add that I hope more people get microphones to use when playing. My most fun was when I had conversations with other gamers about what was going on. Coordinating strikes....laughing about dieing in mutiplayer...
Thanks Bungie. You're about to get me hooked into online gaming again.
Do you have to be in a party to be able to communicate?

My brother and I spent about 45 minutes last night trying to kill a ?? enemy, we found a posse of hive thralls in a hive/cave. Thought because of their super high level we'd get some good exp at least, right? Nah, 22 exp and 3 glimmer. For almost an hour of shooting, dying, shooting, dying. Lol. Some dev must be chuckling at how worthless the conquest was.

You can use your microphone and anyone in your fire team can hear you; don't need to make a party from the PS4's home screen. Super useful for coordinating attacks against the Devil Walker. "I'm hitting the front left leg... Now front right leg...etc"
For those of you who have played this on Vita. How do you Sprint, Activate Powers, Melee, etc.

Doesn't make too much a difference, since the walker takes a long ass time to kill even with strategy. It is like 10x harder in the strike than the giant Servitor.

Coordinating attacks and with decent guns, it goes down in 5 minutes. That's not very long at all.
Melee: Bottom right corner of screen
Sprint: Down on Dpad
Grenade: Bottom left corner of screen
Power: Both bottom corners of screen
No back touch from what I have played.
I'm usually sensitive to motion blur and this game doesn't bother me much. Watch Dogs on the other hand is totally out of control.
I went in with nothing good. I figured I would try it. Haven't had the most strategic attacks, but we tried the first time. I've only done it 3 times, and I crashed 2 of them. Just seemed to take a while.
I totally agree with this statement. I can never play Watch Dogs more than 6 Hours straight, I'll get headache + the motion sickness. It is a sad thing, really.
So after playing the Alpha for a good long while, I have to say I'm not impressed. I feel the game exhibits the worst elements of Skyrim thrown together with Borderlands. First let me say that the amount of ground/space in the game would be amazing if it wasn't for the fact that there isn't shit to do there. All you do is wander around and kill/collect things. There are no sidequests or anything of that nature to make it even somewhat appealing. The only reason to explore is for loot, which is easier gained by doing Legendary Strikes anyway. It's a boring timesink where the only claim to fame is the size. The Public Events can help to alleviate that but the core problem still exists. They need better and more elaborate sidequests. What we have right now is the worst kind of MMO-tier quests where you just go and kill so many enemies and come back to collect your reward. This is compounded by the lack of personality the game has. Everything is played very seriously despite the awful writing (which it absolutely is) and when you already have a somewhat boring world, it just makes everything flat. There just isn't any sort of spark or dynamic aspect to such a large part of the game.
There are bullet sponge enemies who really don't provide much of a threat other than taking up your ammo. This is in part due to how bad the AI is. Enemies stand around even on Legendary and the major threat coming from them is their hp and damage output.
We then have the shitty VA work. This is probably the worst aspect of the Alpha and seemingly the game as a whole. Dinklage doesn't give a fuck and neither does that multiplayer announcer. No, Dinklage playing a robot doesn't excuse his crappy performance. There have been tons of AIs who all sound leagues better than the performance he gives here. The MP announcer also isn't exactly putting his best foot forward. As to how Bungie can fix this, I don't know as VA work isn't cheap and the release date is coming up. I don't think a filter is going to be enough unless they really go heavy on it.
All of that said, I thought the visuals and music were for the most part really good. The image quality is really clear and the game does have some gorgeous vistas. I haven't seen enough of the game to say whether the artstyle is great but it's not lacking so far. I also thought the game for the most part controlled fairly well although at times it felt like the game has some input lag.
The core game still is very boring.
I can tell you only put in like 5 min into the game.
It was tough for me the first time, but after finding good guns and teaming up with other GAFfers (my first team were randoms who kept dying a lot), it was a lot easier. Learning where the really safe spots in the map are (you can shoot from atop a building and never get hit when standing behind some pipes) guaranteed easy victories. and 3 people attacking one leg made the walker reveal its weak spot much faster.
where do i turn in spin metal at? heard it was a good way to xp up

Probably, but to be fair it doesn't exactly have much competition.
so alpha folks, haven't been paying attention to this game much until gb did the QL of the alpha.
a few questions:
- is the skill tree stuff just a side thing, like you can spec towards skill use in borderlands but gun play is still priority in terms of gameplay/dps? Is there a resource with skill trees i can read up on (from the alpha so far)?
- how is group play? Are there support builds? Is there a tank/healer/dps triangle or just anyone can do w/e?
- Is 3rd person in missions only during power use and vehicles?
How do I get to where the bunches of rusted cars are from the old demo reel?

if I remember correctly you go to the courtyard area where the devil walker public event spawns. Then you head to the door on the wall to the right (as you enter ) you should enter a subway and see the spinning fan from the demo. Keep going.
that entire section is truly haunting and beautiful.
Ugh I've been driving all over and don't quite see the spot that looks like the E3 car area and I'm hoping to find it before the Alpha ends
