I'll only accept Sora as the rep, even though I dislike him.

Good enough for me! Vivi basically is just an old-school black mage. After reverse searching I found a shot of his standard colors (thanks again, Mario Wiki)
Not exactly Vivi's color scheme, but close.
Yeah, a lot of characters have good low percentage combos that can utilize up-tilts, but after 30-40% there isn't really much there. But in all the matches I played I never played Kirby so it's possible he's a lot better than the rest. I actually would be totally fine with the game in it's current state if all the characters felt as fluid and responsive as villager, link and Zero Suit, but unfortunately that's not the case.
Too many characters have too much lag. I thought Mega Man felt disgustingly awkward to use. Why isn't neutral b his blaster? Why can't I hold neutral B to charge his blaster?
Do we know this as fact?
I would so rock those Ike shoes!
It's probably obvious that I'd feel this way, but...this is the right choice.Square getting a rep? These are the choices I would like to happen:
- Geno (Super Mario RPG) - Well he makes the most sense given that he's the result of a Nintendo-Square partnership.
Marth shoes are the best!
I'm actually interested in the Amiibos as a side attraction in this game. My understanding is you "train" your Amiibo by letting it battle. They can fight with you or against you, against your friend, CPUs, other Amiibos. They level up fastest when battling against other Amiibos. And it looks like you can equip them with different skills, items, etc., modifying their moves and attributes. They apparently "learn" from their opponents, too, altering their behavior over time.
I'm mainly interested in Amiibo as Nintendo décor, but I am intrigued by this Pokémon-esque simulator aspect they have in-game. I think it'd be kind of cool to train Wii Fit Trainer, for example, and see how she fares against friends' Amiibos, or even other Amiibos I've raised myself.
Is anyone else interested in them?
Why would people be interested in groping characters like... OhPeople will start getting more interested once they confirm a feature similar to Pokemon-Amie.

I really don't get this "villain quota" thing the Smash community is tripping off of.

I really like the idea of that format: You and your Amiibo vs. your friend and their Amiibo. It could make for exciting scenarios, especially if it turns out one of you has been training the heck out of your Amiibo and it's like bringing a nuke to a gunfight.amiibos are actually the single most exciting thing about SSB4 for me. I remember years ago, when Brawl was first coming out, how badly I wanted to buy some of those trophies... that alone would have blown my mind and made my day. But having "pet" fighters to go with it? That's a whole other feature just as amazing.
The application I think is most interesting is doing 2 vs. 2 team matches, you + your amiibo vs. your friend + their amiibo. An AI partner that can grow and learn is such a cool idea.
Can you link me to the impressions? I'm actually interested in Yoshi myself now that they've made him look so CUTE. :-3So, I was reading the Yoshi impressions and it seems he's quite good. Finally!
Hope he doesn't get changed much if he's actually good now...
Man I want a Pixar Super Smash Bros movie. This game is so lively and animated. Love it!
I'm calling dibs on the, "Does Super Smash Bros. 4 Have The Best Animation In Video Games?" thread.
I concur. It's always fun to include someone who wasn't playable in their original game. I remember how exciting it was to have Bowser playable in Melee. Sure, he's playable in some of the Mario Spin-Offs, but actually fighting with a fully realized version of him? Beyond epic. For me personally, there really isn't a quota per se so much as it'd be cool to get more iconic villains in because who doesn't want to play the bad guys every now and again? More so if they're well realized or bring a play style we haven't seen yet.
The one-million-space-bucks question: Is the Gematsu leak the extent of the remaining newcomers?
Can someone do me a huge favor and link/tell me about the gamatsu rumor?

There were two.
The first, before E3 2013, claimed six characters would be revealed:
Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Mii, Pac-Man
The most recent one had a few more characters:
Palutena, Shulk, Chrom, Chorus Men (Rhythm Heaven), a Pokemon from X/Y

Who knows? They missed Rosalina entirely.

Plus, Wooly World hype has rekindled my love of the dino
Before Uprising came out and she was revealed to be a minor villain, I was really hoping Medusa would get in simply because she's the only close-to-viable female villain in the Nintendo-verse.
Agreed. Anyone who thinks otherwise, thinks a character like Mewtwo is returning outside of maybe DLC, is going to be severely dissapointed.I feel pretty strongly that we already know the full roster, more or less, at 47 characters.

Actually, there were THREE Gematsu leaks. The third one appeared before the E3 Digital Event, and included Mii Fighters by name. There were two.

Of note is apparently Namco's supposed habit of frame buffering for inputs/animations

Where are you guys getting 47 characters from? Who's left if that's the case?
