Destiny Alpha Thread: Impressions from the wild [Code Begging=ban]

Fell asleep and wake up to this thread still going. And, I see that the Alpha is still going lol. I'm not gonna let myself get drawn back in for the inevitable disappointment though...
 
Is there some other way to pull screenshots off of the PS4 outside of Facebook or Twitter? All the shots I move to my PC via Twitter end up looking like garbage and I don't have a Facebook.
 
I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I think I got lost or stuck in the "campaign" of the Alpha. Completed the first mission in the hive. That opened a new exploratory area, finished a mission there and that opened the Strike area. After that there were no new areas and I couldn't find a main mission anywhere, just the random kill quests and exploring aimlessly. What was I doing wrong?

Don't know what the dangerous experiments but I probably won't bother to find out

Did Devil's Lair on Legend, and this time it was Prime who was being a real bastard in the form of mobs, especially those Elite mofos. Devil Walker wasn't really a problem for me at least (unlike my teammates, I didn't die until the Prime fight). Got one more Control match before I ended my Alpha run and our team won. Pulse rifle wasn't helping me all that much so I used the sniper rifle instead

Overall opinion from my time on the Alpha: Can it be July 17 already?

More like can it be September 9th already. I am looking forward to the beta but at this point I just want the full game so I can go all in.
 
I've really grown to like Rusted Lands, but First Light is still... eh. Not feelin' it. Definitely not the scale of map I'll be playing in the full game.
 
Is it still up?? Please stay up for a few more hours, I still want to play today!! Just three more hours and work is done.

Rusted Lands is the best map, although I like First Light too if you are playing with a good team of GAFfers.
 
As solid as the PvP is, it seems like it will be more of an after-thought to the PVE stuff, which I'm okay with.

The PvE is where this will shine. I want to be able to explore the world and experiences some cool events with my mate. I also hope the story doesn't get bogged down with convoluted narrative sub-missions etc.

Also, having a mini (lol) Tyrian Lannister companion is cool!
 
so was the public event at 8pst nothing? no one here has said anything about it from what i'm reading.

i'm watching someone still playing the alpha on twitch :') will do so till i have to get off work and go home.

this game... i can't stop thinking about all the potential it will have, it's one of the best games i've played in awhile and that is just the very limited alpha.

also love how bungies player pages show the stats of our characters just like in the options menu of the game. really slick.

Nothing happened. I don't think it was meant to be an event but more of a stress test - just very poorly worded.

And yes bungie have gone above and beyond (again) in their web and stat tracking for destiny.
 
Will this game use dedicated servers ? Any info for this ?

Maybe, XBone version will use...Bungie gave any info about this ?

And right after I type this I absolutely destroy the enemy with my new, super OP sniper rifle. Pompeii LR3, guys. Get one.

Absolutely - Awoken females and the depth of customisation were the real highlights for me. I think i could easily spend 30-40 minutes in char creator every time i make a new character. Not the best picture but the one i could nab before i got DC'ed

It's gone. I have to admit I am a little sad. I had nothing but a good time playing it. I can not wait until the beta and the final game to release.

I love how the game mirrors real life. Go to the tower and you'll see every female character surrounded by at least 4/5 male ones dancing in front of them. Made me chuckle many times.

Oh and the female dancing is super hot.
 
Okay, I'm thick as shit. The game keeps telling me to go to bungie.net to check out Grimoires and whatnot but I can't find any of that jazz on the website.
 
Pretty rad game. Haven't had that much fun with a FPS in a long time.
