Not saying it's impossible but the US is the weakest of the group, this is more of a great result to Ghana than it is to the US.

As an American I agree that Ghana are the better team, although the U.S. squad are better than they were in 2010 and have a not insignificant chance of a good result against Ghana (and Portugal). I am still not getting my hopes up too much, though, because that will be too hard on my heart.

It's not hope as much as its internal racism. Espn, American media, and us fans always try to downplay African teams like they are better than them. Folks have consistently written off Ghana for years and the results never change.

Defense is weaker, but the us looks better due to Mexico having an absolute awful qualifying campaign(Still went to the azteca and parked the bus) and folks are already back on the train. It is a constant undermining of African teams in this nation that is sickening.

Very well put. Without Hummels, with a weird ass (Lahm) / unfit (Khedira, Schweine) midfield and with Löw fielding CBs as fullbacks we're still most likely fucked in the long run.
