PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Vitagaf, what's the general opinion on Ragnarok Odyssey ace?

I'm a Monster Hunter veteran, and have also dabbled in Toukiden and Phantasy Star Portable. Worth £23? I'd be playing single-player only on the commute, would that make it super-hard or something?

Thanks in advance chaps.

ROA is great, my favourite of the ones you mentioned, although I really liked PSP2, but a Vita/PS3 version is much more comfortable (2 sticks) over a PSP one.

I actually bought the PS3 version, but only because I already had done the first version on Vita, and wanted to play it on a big screen now.

So... I just bought a Vita. Packed with Uncharted (physical) and Soul Sacrifice (download code), and a 4GB card (which will get me nowhere, so I play on changing ASAP). And 3 months of PS+.

This is the first time that I own a Sony product. It was an impulse buy for my birthday. I'll report back once I've opened the box, registered the codes and so on.

- Final Fantasy Type-0 on Vita was just a typo, possibly created by a subconscious desire for that to be true.

Ah fuck you, Yoshida. The desire for a Vita version was already there and there's nothing subconscious about it... the non-typo that said PS4 created conscious desire for a PS4 version, that was never expected or asked for.

...and you call yourself Broshida?

For someone who hasn't had a PS3 before, this sale is interesting. Flower, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are going to be mine. Shame Journey isn't included, but whatever.

The original RO is by far the worst hunting game I ever played. I really doubt ROA is any better.

Order a 64GB card immediately.

Tell me that you actually created this last quote, Takao.

That's probably the least paraphrased quote (7m49s):

I'm not directly involved in what had happened, but what I heard from my colleague at third party relations was that it was a mistake. We are sorry that it was a mistake to list it on PS Vita. My guess is that people want it on Vita so maybe that was a subconscious mistake.

I changed the wording a bit in the last sentence so it reads better, he said "maybe it was an under the conscious that created the mistake".

It's ok but i'd wait for a price cut.

Main issue with this game imo is the massive amount of trash mob killing quest which aren't really hard at all, the boss fights are ok though, not a fan of the gigantic ones but overall they are fun enough.

I completely forgot One Piece: Unlimited World Red comes out next week in the PAL region. Just in-time for me to finish up Borderlands 2.

ROA is much better than RO, I also think that it is much better than Soul Sacrifice Delta and Toukiden.
In what way is ROA much better than RO? I remember being extremely frustrated by the game's drop rate, which somehow managed to be worse than even the MMOs I used to play. I didn't like the combat much either.

Thanks for the replies re. Ragnarok Odyssey vitagaf, I think the mixed response means I might wait a bit. I do like the general look of it though.

Yoshida interview with Meristation: http://www.meristation.com/video/bloodborne/1986582

- Says The Last Guardian and Until Dawn are still in development, but they're waiting for the right time to unveil them.
- Says Vita has third party support (lol)
- Final Fantasy Type-0 on Vita was just a typo, possibly created by a subconscious desire for that to be true.

Never heard of Until Dawn. Checked the trailer and it's a PS Move game.
Maybe it's for project Morpheus now.
Along with The Last Guardian!!!

What button config do people use with Muramasa Rebirth? I'm definitely going to change it. The dodge is king of awkward with the default controls.

I know it's settled but I still contend that Vita needs its own thread. Coming here is like constantly being reminded of a dying relative. Painful. I always want to talk PS4/PS3 stuff but it seems rude to change the subject.

Anyway, just thought I'd give people a headsup about a workaround another member shared with me. Most are aware the 'save last 15 minutes' feature is completely borked on PS4. For some reason reducing the capture to 3 minutes fixes it (at least temporarily). You can then readjust to the length of your choosing. Not ideal but it actually works! Used it bunch on Destiny. Worlds more convient than preemptively recording every match.

Hey vitagaf if I know nothing about soccer, will I enjoy the management aspects of football manager classic?
Hmmm, that's a tough call. What's your interest in the game driven by? Understanding the technical aspects of the sport is kind of essential, and I'd say it takes a fan of the series to look past the more glaring technical faults of the game on the vita. That being said, I love the game on vita, worts and all. But I also love the game, the technical side of the sport (tactics, formation, players).

I like management sims. Like I played the kairosoft games and I figured this was just a more advanced form of those types of games.

They are still very big, I guess they put them just because of PSNow.

BTW Secret Agent Clank and R&C Size Matters are missing (if you meant "downloaded on PS3")

No, I know that. In fact, Size Matters is still PSP only (unless you were lucky when it was available on Vita a few weeks ago during that little mishap). They really should have a PS3 version, just so the collection can truly be complete on one system (not counting the new PS4 Ratchet and Clank remake. Actually, there is technically one more R&C game that I forgot. Not sure it counts though. It was a cellphone sidescroller called Ratchet and Clank: Going Mobile (it was made by Sony Picture Mobile who also made God of War: Betrayal and LocoRoco Hi!.

On a side note, I wonder, with the remake, if they will use the voice of James Arnold Taylor (he's been in every Ratchet game but the first) to replace the already recorded work of Mikey Kelly (the original voice of Ratchet).

They could at least put up the PS2 version as a PS2 Classic. The PS2 ports of the PSP GTA games are available, so there's precedent.

What faults? I was thinking about buying the game, but I've heard people say that the game is bad some times already.
The loading times, saving times, and switching between screens (from say, tactics to reports) are fairly lengthy for a mobile title, definitely not as snappy as the should be (I've relayed this information to the SI team in their forums as well). The text is not as bad as people have said, it's actually perfect for me and I have glasses. Other than that, the title stays true to the pc version, and I'm having a great time with it. If they can get a patch out for the more obvious issues, they'll have a real gem on their hands.I'd say if you love fm, get it, I picked it up for $20 and definitely think it's worth it.

I'd say Kairosoft is to fmc as legos are to lego mindstorms. Don't let that put you off though, I think the depth of fmc is unparalleled on the vita, as I don't see many strategy games that can compare. The buying and selling of players is addictive as well. I just think that the delay or slowness of the transitions is going to be offputting to new players.oSo I'd say if you're new, pick it up at $20, but at $40 hold off. Hell, I couldn't pull the trigger at $40(was very close though), but saw it randomly on sale for $20 and bought it immediately.

ROA is much better than RO, I also think that it is much better than Soul Sacrifice Delta and Toukiden.

This is from way back up the page, but BLASPHEMY.

RO:Ace is just above mediocre, and suffers from some of the most boring monster design I've ever seen. The only thing it has going for it over any of the other Vita "hunting" games is the aerial attacks, I'd rather play ANY other hunting game on Vita than a RO game.

-

I tried using PS+ and it doesn't work. It treats the physical copy as its own game. :(

Pictures:

Have you tried manually moving the save from one file to the other on your PC? (ie, back up the content from the physical and digital copies to the PC, then dig through the files to find the saves and swap 'em out?)

If not, or if you need a hand doing it add me on Skype; teflontactics

What? As a hunting game, no way. Maybe if you enjoy boring, repetitive quests that send you out to kill stupid numbers of grunts. Ugly visual style as well, looks cheap. Not worth it when there are so many better hunting games on the system with more coming.

Even then, if you want aerial attacks just get God Eater Burst or import GE2. RO is so bad.

I have now fully bathed in the healing waters of Sony. I bought a PS3 yesterday for my living room (for the BluRay and Netflix/Amazon Prime capabilities) which means that in the past 8 months I've purchased a Vita, PS4 and now a PS3.

The holy trinity is now complete.

SonyGaf, let us hold hands now and sing the hymns of PS+!

If there's any physical carts out there that have Atoi instead of Iota on the icon or game card, I will have to find one. I know the game had reversible cover art, and I believe the initial plan was to stock it with both options in order to have equal market appeal/representation... but I don't think that ever panned out.
