I created it from the official Nintendo video. ^^

I applied a bit of sharpening in After Effects because of the video compression.

god, this looks glorious. I cannot wait anymore

I hope the story is more in the style of Xenosaga. That was my favorite experience.

I will definitely explore quite a bit before going to the city. Hopefully I'll be able to hunt some Unique Monsters (assuming the game has them) and have some fun fights.

Likewise. And mostly just running around and enjoying the day/midday/night vistas and weather of every landmark. :D

My favorite is when you have reyn melia and Dunban in your squad, "you cant have a rainbow without reyn" and the melia and Dunban dialogue after lol.

Reyn: You can't have a rainbow without Reyn, baby!
Melia: Dunban, I think you need to have a talk with Reyn.
Dunban: No. Let's pretend it didn't happen.

Pfffffffffft.
Now I'm kinda upset that I didn't try out more team combos, specifically ones without Shulk. I mainly ran Shulk, Sharla and then for the 3rd character I ran Reyn, Dunban and Riki on rotation.

Ugh I'm gonna have to get back to Xenoblade. Started up my first playthrough ever last month and got to Bionis' Leg (I know I've just started), but MK8 completely sidelined me. I need to get back to it...

Actually, thinking about it, what actually do you guys suppose how much this game costs to make?

Assuming Skyward Sword was the most expensive game they had made at that point (interview somewhere idk where). Skyward Sword likely didn't even cost 10million.

20million for this maybe? So they'd have to sell like 700k? Oh boy.

Nintendo releases niche stuff all of the time that probably doesn't recoup dev costs. It's why it's silly when people complain about them releasing guaranteed sellers like nsmb, mk, and pokemon frequently. Nintendo can afford to take a bit of a loss on games to diversify the library because they know their staple franchises will always net a handy profit. Without the "rehash" (they aren't rehashes) games we wouldn't get this, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin, fire emblem, starfox, metroid and the like.

I'd probably go ahead and say that most Monolith Soft games haven't made their cost back or if they did, they barely made over it. Xenosaga 1 was the only Saga game that most definitely did since it actually made it to "greatest hits" on ps2, 2 and 3 however....not so much and if I laid a finger on why it would have to be people hated how long the cutscenes were and didn't care to buy a sequel(7-9hrs in each game, with the games themselves only being about 20hrs). Xenoblade probably did too mainly thanks to it's sales in Japan, doubt we helped all that much considering the limited copies Nintendo cared to produce themselves(doubt they make a dime off the Gamestop "used" copies that they just burned themselves).

Good thing about so many Nintendo games is they don't spend double what the game cost to produce on marketing. Some of the more niche games could probably use a bit more, but so much of what they have are very well known franchises that they do not need to market them to make them fly off the shelves.

Wait what, how did that work out without being seen as piracy?

Good question, but it's clear as day that they're getting a lot of extra copies from somewhere when "suddenly" they have 10+ in stock one day and any day before then they didn't have any, all of which they sell as "used"(which does not make anyone money but Gamestop).

Gamestop didn't burn copies, he doesn't know what he's talking about. If Gamestop just burned the discs themselves they wouldn't work in non modded Wiis.

So you're telling me that 10+ people went to multiple Gamestops in my area a week ago and just decided on the same day to trade in their copy of Xenoblade? I've actually been looking for the game lately and before a week ago not a single Gamestop had any in stock. Nintendo doesn't send out copies anymore, where are they getting all these copies from that just "magically" appear on their shelves in a single day?

Someone need to make a new LTTP Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm back to playing it and wanna chat with people who are also playing it atm

They sure as hell aren't burning them. It doesn't work like that.

Is it the same composer(s) from XC?

If so, Im expecting them to match or surpassthe godliness of "Field of the Machinae"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPjqILlZsAY
The main composer for Cross is Sawano, who is known for doing the sound tracks to animes like Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill and Gundam Unicorn.
This is his first time doing the sound track for a video game.
Some people aren't a fan of his, but personally after watching SNK and KLK I'm a huge fan and can see his music fitting perfectly with the world and story created in Cross.

I already like the sound of it from the track that plays in the trailer, and the battle music as well. I loved alot of Xenoblades track too though.

That'd be nice... though... I need to take a brief hiatus from this game lol.

Thirty hours in and I just managed to beat
Xord
... I have a feeling that I'm not even at the halfway mark yet. There's so much to see and discover in this game. And now that I got a handle on the battle system, I'm almost ready to rank it at the same level as Grandia II for my personal best jrpg battle system.

Not even close to the halfway point really. 1/4 maybe.

You're probably 1/4 of the way through at best.

I don't think the budget is that big.

Don't worry, they're not gonna waste any money marketing the game. And by "waste" I mean use. In fact, even though it's been confirmed for release outside of Japan, maybe they'll hold the game back and wait for Operation Reynfall Cross to get some free marketing for the game.

Has anyone linked to the gamespot stage demo as yet

http://www.gamespot.com/videos/e3-2014-xenoblade-chronicles-stage-demo/2300-6419442/

After watching it, I'm definitely giving my character a beard.

Seeing this just makes me appreciate the Treehouse (as a whole) even more.

Such a breath of fresh air to be given a walkthrough of a demo that isn't rushed and actually gives you an in-depth look at the game and it's mechanics.

Watching the 2 day coverage of this and Bayonetta 1 and 2 was all I could have asked for, but then they had to do the same to games like Splatoon, Captain Toad, Yoshis WW etc...

...Games I wasn't even interested in, but they managed to sell me on because of the unique gameplay.

That's not how it works, those Gamestops are getting more copies because they cycle stock around all the time and send more copies from warehouses to stores that repeatedly get asked if they have Xenoblade in stock, in addition to some people trading copies in by sending out emails to people who bought it from them saying "Hey, Xenoblade is worth x amount if you trade it in right now!"

curse your restarting talk...
I already put the disk in... but I have to resist hitting the power button. I can't let this 50 hour game come between me and my bachelors thesis.

I came to accept that we wont get a world as insanely awesome as the one in the original xenoblade ever again. There is no way to top that concept. But I'm ok with that. Xenocross doesn't need to be a better game than xenoblade, it just needs to be an awesome game on it's own.

If your WiiU is set to 1080p, your TVs upscaler doesn't matter as it gets fed a 1080p signal from the Wiiu. It's upscaled internally, though it's not rendered at 1080p obviously.
Are we dubbing it xenocross now? cause Im so ok with that after seeing it.

Can anyone translate what it says when you're in battle and the cursor is on the middle action bar icon? I saw O.C. something TP3000

Exactly how I felt. The two treehouse streams are still my favorite footage of the game that came out during E3. It's nice because not only is it not rushed but unlike the IGN and Gamepot footage, the person doing most of the talking is the one with the controller in his hands, so everything happening on the screen is being narrated by the person playing the game. It's kind of like an E3 let's play. It also helps that the treehouse crew are genuinely entertaining to listen to.

Well, this is something that I don't think anyone has mentioned at all yet.

But it looks like there will be limb damage/destruction for the Dolls in this game, which means the same mechanic for destroying enemy limbs applies to your Dolls as well.

Proof here

In this video you can see the player taking almost 2000 damage from this enemy's leaping attack. At this time you can also see bits of the arm flying into the distance as well as the camera swiveling around to show the front of the Doll where you can see that it's missing the arm. Some of the arts on the pallete are also disabled when this happens.

I wonder how Doll repairing is going to work then.

Nah, I saw people dissecting that when that gameplay first appeared.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=768686

Somewhere around post 630 is when people notice it I think. A great reminder though. I wonder when we will see more mech gameplay.

I don't think I was around when that trailer first popped up.

Reading through some stuff someone mentioned something that I hope we get a lot of in X.

And that's the awesome cutscenes. Xenoblade had some of the most badass cutscenes I've seen in a RPG.

Mostly any scene having to do with Shulk or Dunban getting angry and wrecking someone.

Thinking back on that story trailer that was released recently, I don't think we'll have to worry about the game being short on those kinds of scenes.

The trailer itself is so damn awesome...like after it ended you just want to get to know more about the game.

Really excited for this game.

Remember, the E32009 demo faces and color/UI palette was quite different from the final release a year later.

We still have time for them to improve on it.

Although, honestly the fact that they have a full up and running character creator doesn't do much in assuring me that they actually will change anything.

my only worry is that Zelda U 2015 is a lie and Nintendo might try to push XCX as the holiday title but I doubt they want to push an RPG for holidays

I need another big 2015 game that can take the holiday slot so X can be safely released before E3
