PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

The controls are a mess and the graphics are sub-par. Comparing to the other versions, it's a mess.

Controls work fine for me. In fact, I think I had an easier time with the hardest trophy than I did on the PS3 version using a dual shock. And of course the graphics are downgraded... but it still looks good, especially on dat OLED.

On the subject of Tearaway, I realized recently that NiGHTS on Saturn is a better thing to compare it to than the Mario 64 comparison everyone ran with. The melancholy joy, somewhat unique gameplay, and the futile martyrdom of a great 1st party game, on a doomed system is written all over it.

So... Shinobido 2 for Vita, worth it?

I still have to get that someday... I shouldda got it when physical copies were discounted overstock and not stagnantly priced relics.

There's a demo... it feels more like Wrath of Heaven and prior Tenchu, and I'm more a fan of the control and gameplay feel of Fatal Shadows Tenchu that came after. Someone else could probably tell you the relation between the Shinobido and Tenchu better than I can.

I wonder when Tuesday "night" they plan to actually put the Ratchet games up
I was wondering the same thing

Finally picked up Tearaway to go with P4G. The real VitaGAF starts here.

Is Persona 4 worth it if you don't have a Vita for P4: Golden? I ask as P3:FES is on sale, but I heard P4 is much better.

I think so, but Golden is still worth for all the improvements. If you're never getting a Vita or a Playstation TV, go for P4.

Alright. This might be off topic, but how exactly does a PS TV function alongside every other PS system?

It's pretty much a Vita inside a box, connected to a TV. It plays some Vita games (those that don't require touchscreen/backtouch), all PSP and PS1 games (that are compatible to the Vita) and remote play your PS4.

Sounds like something I might actually buy (in the future of course)! Might be a good "console" to bring for college.

So I'll hold off, but P4: Golden is definitely on my "To get" list.
Shame Terraway won't be on it, though.

Yeah, you're lucky P4G is one of the compatible games.

So the two R&C titles are up now. Somehow, I went two generations without playing any game from the series. Of the two, which one is better? (Or do the classics outshine the Future trilogy?)

For me, the HD collection is leaps and bounds above the PS3 games. All the PS3 games had going for them, IMO, was the updated graphics and ACiT's Lord Vorselon.

The humour, weapons, core gameplay, etc. is tighter in the PS2 games, especially Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal.

If you want to pick a PS3 game, go with ACiT. It's superior to Tools of Destruction in every way, I think.

Kanji is amazing. Yosuke is too good as a bro to be a husbando though, he'll be friendzoned as soon as he speaks lol

Grrrrrr beaten. I'll still posted my image because there aren't enough Persona 3 comics in this world to express all the hate Marin Karin has generated over the years XD

You won't understand the hatred I have for Marin Karin until you play Persona 1.
Status ailments stack :/

magical beats is a bit challenging. played the demo and lost 2 out of 5 stages XD have to get used to the controls first. :D

oh..and i just bought the borderlands vita bundle. it really is a lot lighter than the oled version. just have to get used to the slimness. XD

Guys, can someone help me with this question, please?

Also, I have a question for somebody that has bought PASBR: is it really cross-buy? I will not be wasting 5 bucks on a PS3 only game, right? Can I trust you guys?

Another thing: holy crap that is a lot of DLC for PASBR, is the standard game enough? Or too barebones?

As much as I enjoyed DoA:D on it, the 3DS is an awful system for fighters

Mainly because of it's shoddy hardware. It's so uncomfortable

Erryone should be getting the new Smash on the WiiU and be played with the GC controllers like the way God intended it

hmm I would think the Wii U Pro Controllers are actually pretty good

EDIT: I just bought the R&C Future games on Retail...
argh. and unsealed them too ><

the Magical Beat demo was cool and i respect innovative puzzle game mechanics, but it's just a wee bit complicated for me to really get into. i might get it today, or wait a bit, til there's a drought

Dammit, dammit, dammit. Another week spent giving Sony a decent chunk of my hard earned money.

Going to pick up:

Disgaea
ICO
Odin Sphere
Playstation All-Star Battle
Shadow of the Colosuss
Twisted Metal

Was thinking about picking up Ico and SOTC but then I realized steam sales are round the corner. And I could probably find a $10 hard copy of the team ico collection somewhere.

Ok fuck Shadow Teddie. Even when you play his game, he still fucks you over with Heat Wave and other bullshit. It's July 8th in the game. I think I might have to grind one last time and then go after Rise and Teddie on the 9th cause it's not happening today. :/

My take was that it gets much better, the demo is the worst part of the game in my book.

Having said that, after buying a WiiU this year and playing some of the platformers I missed last year, it's really hard to look back at it quite as positively. I enjoyed it for what it was, but for something some of us talked about reminding them a bit of Nintendo games, it just ends up showing how divorced from Nintendo a lot of us must have been at the time. It's the best actual complete game Media Molecule has made, for what that's worth.

I hate to sound negative, the game was a lot of fun for me as evidenced by it being in my top 5 last year, and I happily own a physical copy. It's more of a PS1 action adventure game, and there were plenty of decent ones of those it could rightly be compared to, it's just pretty lightweight in the gameplay department in retrospect, and the difficulty is essentially nonexistant.

Completely subjective here, but I certainly think $18 is a fair price, but I wouldn't pay more.

Disagreed. Taken as a whole, I was more impressed by Tearaway than any of the Wii U platformers. I loved most of those, too, but Tearaway was a complete joy to experience, and the gameplay was there. I actually wish there had been less combat, but that was my only complaint. It didn't EXACTLY remind me of a Nintendo game, but it feel to me like what it would be if MM had made a Nintendo game.

My goodness, thinking back on it, I need to play the game again.

It's aight.

imo, DS3 and the GC controller are my favorites

I love the GC controllers too... but not sure if I want to buy 4 controllers just for Smash (already have 4 Wii U Pro Controllers)

my local store only sells the purple+translucent controllers... :/ would prefer 4 black ones

this smash talk is making me hope Sony brings PSASBR 2 with a better fighting system
