PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

FW looks really good, but I wasn't planning on buying it.

Now I feel like I have to buy it, as the last big Vita release :(

I don't have my Vita 1000 for that long but:

Can I use two separate mem. cards on a single-region account without any forced format prompt when interchanging?

Can I use two separate mem. cards for two different regions respectively without any forced format prompt when interchanging? i.e. having an U.S.-assigned & a EU assigned mem. card.

We still have GR2 if it's still in development for the Vita. If ever it is, I doubt SCE won't localize it given the good reception the first game got in the west.

I fucking hate when games starts on one platform and then they change for other on the sequel. If Gravity Rush 2 gets released on PS4, it's the end of the series for me.

I only hate it when the platform for the first game is still alive (somehow) and the sequel is released on another platform (competitor's or handheld to console/vice-versa). Otherwise, I share the same feelings with you.

It's not the best translation; he's worded it weirdly and I'm not going to bother mind-diving into Yosp. The interviewer didn't even mention FW, SS, or even Vita when asking the question, Yosp himself wants them on PS4. "Franchise like those" - FW and SS are the only hunting games by Sony.
It doesn't occur to you that WWS is probably under a lot of pressure to produce more Japan relevant content for the PS4, and porting a successful Vita title would be one quicker and easier ways to do that.

It mostly bugs me because I don't have the cash for a PS4, but would Pre-order the sequel Day -1. And I know that's definitely the case for others as well. Some people can't just jump all over to continue their games.

At least we know nothing can come close to Kingdom Hearts. It would be a nightmare if everything pulled the things that series does.

and one of the worse by pissing off the owners of the Vita in Japan and telling them to go buy that PS4 which is only full of Western games at the moment. What WWS should do is more collabs in the vein of Bloodborne not taking a already established base and moving somewhere else.

You shouldn't let the negativity circlejerk get to you so much. Europe and Japan have always provided most of the software support. We got Wipeout, LBPVita, Tearaway, and Killzone Mercenary out of European studios, and Gravity Rush, the Soul Sacrifice series, and Freedom Wars from Japan. The only real big original titles backed by SCEA were Uncharted GA at launch, Resistance Burning Skies and Unit 13, plus the collections and ports.

If there's nothing at Gamescom or TGS, then you can start worrying. E3's never had Vita anything, and Yoshida's likely talking about stuff that would appeal to the cinematic console game audience. No AAA != no games at all. Third party support's still solid, and there's a crap-ton of stuff coming out soon. Nothing's really changed.

Uncharted:GA was made by Bend Studio, which is an American studio

Even if I had a PS4, I wouldn't buy it. Seriously.

But no way in hell I'll buy a PS4, SPECIALLY considering I'm in fucking Brazil. And the investment would be better invested on other things right now (almost $4000 for a new TV Full HD Ready, a PS4 and some games). Lol, nope.

Still burned that I could get a vita for the same price that you guys in US bought and it was fucking stolen/robbed. :(

And is it better on Vita or ps3?

It's the perfect Vita game, very easy to play and do something else at the same time.

For R$4000 you can get a 46" TV and a PS4.

KH is come convoluted nonsense when it comes to platforms.

If I was a fan of the series, I wouldn't mind since I always go Sony/Nintendo but for the peeps who are bound to one company, sucks for them, I mean it was like

PS2->GBA->PS2->DS->PSP->DS->3DS->PS4

granted they bundled them all together in the PS3 remakes they have been doing but still.

As least with mainline FF it's NES->SNES->PS1->PS2->PS3->PS4

I doubt they'd ever make their hunting games console exclusive. They're usually far more popular on handhelds in Japan, and it in no way makes financial sense for SCEJA not to continue having the Vita as the primary platform. Console ports are common in the genre though.

What WWS should do is more collabs in the vein of Bloodborne not taking a already established base and moving somewhere else.
Well, they are. Deep Down is apparently a cooperation with Capcom. But ultimately they can't change that the whole Japanese dev industry is really struggling to get any big console games out in a timely manner, which is why I suspect Vita ports are a tempting stop-gap.

Having to deal with the grey market? Hmm, nope... No warranty is a big deal.

For the price of the system in brazil, may as well just forgo the warranty. All my systems since the atari lasted at least 5 years, with the exception of my Dreamcast, and PC if you include that.

I'll give up the warranty at a 50 dollar discount.

Sony's actions regarding Vita tells me that they don't even plan to have a significant footprint in mobile once the platform is done done. They've shifted too many resources to console development and burned the bridge that probably would've been with them no matter what. I guess it's just cheapo companion apps and PlayStation Now from here on out.

I feel the same way, I'd gladly give up the warranty on any item I own for $50 - I've never had something break within the warranty period that I couldn't fix.

Games are still coming out. Don't know why you are such a drama queen

Don't want to deal with luck at all. Since I don't know from where the console came, there's always the chance that lady luck will choose me to fuck with.

Anyway, I have many other priorities right now. Good to know that the console is cheaper on the gray market though.

Vita is Sony's last portable, that much is obvious. As long as Shahid continues to get great indies to the platform, I don't really care about anything else.

So we're doing a VitaGAF meetup in Tokyo to honor Kat? I'm so in
my wallet not so much.

The prices are dropping, and there are some big stores (like balão) selling the PS4 for around R$ 2k, with warranty and all that, so it's possible. I'd like to say "and it'll only go lower", but presidential elections.

edit: there's a bunch of Freedom Wars things (pens, files, rulers...) up on AmiAmi. The cat-ear headset must be imminent.

Well if we're lucky Dangan Ronpa 3 will be on Vita too. I still want Oreshika, that will probably my last big game I guess. If they don't scrap their localization plan and cancel it. I wanted Tales of Hearts R but the localization seems really awful so I don't want to support it.

I'm done with Type-0 PSP fan translated so I'm now looking for something to play. I'm interested in Demon's Gaze but scared of the otaku perv stuff.

For all the anger about type-0 not being on Vita, I suppose most people haven't played it. I beat it and it's not a very good game. Lots of design problems. I kind of regret buying a psp copy since I could have spend the money on something much more enjoyable for me.

I have 30 dollars in PSN credit waiting to be used. Anything good to play on my Shiny new PS4? I am thinking of Transistor.

Can't go wrong with Transistor. Great atmosphere, soundtrack, and gameplay. It's a must if you enjoy stories that you have to piece together for yourself. It's one of my favorite games so far this year.

Come on Vitagaf, don't be so negative, I admit the outlook is not too good right now and I also very disappointed by Yoshida's interview, but still, I agreed with Yasumi's point. Don't forget, even if there are JP games only, Vita is still region-free right? ;)

I agree that type-0 is more a product of hype than anything. It is like crisis core. Simply all round mediocre. I don't think I will play much more of it. Ff13-2 is a far better rpg than type-0, and I scoff at the idea that it is the best game SE has made in years.

XIII > LR > Type-0 > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Agito >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> XIII-2

XIII-2 was some Crisis Core tier levels of fanfiction. Only saving grace of that game was Caius.

Type-0 at least had a competent story and a kicking OST to back it up

Completely disagree. But you are entitled to your opinions. I will put Ff13 right at the bottom myself.

I kinda find find talk about a successor to the Vita a bit like hearing political commentators talk about how something will affect elections 4-6 years down the line (and eventually being proven completely wrong most of the time). Personally, I have trouble seeing exactly a new PlayStation handheld would offer, I mean the vast majority of current handheld devs don't have anywhere near the budgets to even push the Vita towards its limit. What would they do with a more powerful device?

to each their own of course.

But you are right that a majority of the people people wanting type-0 is merely out of hype.

I predict that the game will get a good reception when it finally releases on the PS4. (much higher than XIII-2 and LR) but a lot of people will end up being disappointed of the game.
