I gave up on a Vita successor after Vita's sales came in back in 2012. I was referring to their market placement in the phone game world.

So uuuh, htoL#NiQ is out today in Japan. Hopefully now we'll finally learn if it comes with a physical copy of the game or not. =x

Your statement proves true for 2014. Best year for the PSV so far, IMO. 2015 and further, I don't think it still holds true. As much as I wish for the PSV to succeed, it wouldn't happen since Sony is pulling the plug on their own platform in the near foreseeable future.

Not grey market but there are stores that legally import the console and sell it for much cheaper than Sony's outrageous prices. Even with a 1 year warranty.

I don't know why that would annoy you. It's either those properties expand to PS4 or they die. There's not going to be a Vita successor, so those are the only options. Of course, I imagine if they do expand to PS4, they'll still probably die. Japan won't really care because they'll have played those games on Vita and home console gaming is lol tier over there. They'll be relying on the west. Those two are Japanese games through and through. Unless Shawn Layden's SCEA is drastically different, they'll be sent to die on PS4 just as they were on Vita.

Because not a single one of the "E3 2014" Japanese interviews had any "yes, we have games in the making". Not. A. Single. One. Then he wants these franchise to go to PS4.

Note that this are for Japanese readership, AND even when the question was about "what about the Vita's future?" All he could answer was "remote plaaaaaay".

Their message is too consistent that the Vita-3000 might as well be a Wii U Game Pad for PS4. Less costly to create and it'll do as everything it is advertised to do.

IIRC, the "creator" of Soul Sacrifice said he made it for the Vita when asked if it it'll be available elsewhere, so yes, we were given a promise of some sort.

If you think the Vita won't have a successor, then you should look a bit more into the future. The PS5/6 won't be there either, unless it does something revolutionary. (I don't think VR will have a mass-appeal.)

PS Now (or similar service) will be where things are at.

yeah buddy, I'm thinking about selling off one of my Vitas & my current 3DS and get a JP 3DS so I can play it early.

Reminds me of Crystal Chronicles series which I absolutely adored (even Crystal Bearers to an extent though)

Not to mention some "MoHu" elements thrown in there, that game is already a winner in my eyes.

The Vita already got FFX from Square, I'm content and happy with that and I'm now ready to accept that it won't get the same level of love that the PSP got.

I honestly thought the series ended with the second game. Most people said most of the open questions are answered in the sequel. If there will ever be a 3rd game, I hope I can play it on a platform I own right now.

Sony should be taking advantage of 3DS soft 2014 and onward.
Not everyone is going to want to play smash brothers.

I guess I'll be forced to buy whatever next handheld Nintendo makes if Sony won't make another one, since I like portable gaming. iPad/iphone games don't do it for me.

Also if they kill Vita they are really being bold in regards to Japan ie: moving vita IP to PS4. Japan will shrug it off and just play phone games I imagine.

Outside PlayStation Now or an acquisition of a successful mobile publisher, I don't think they have any chance of competing in the mobile game space. Only real opportunity they had was if PlayStation Mobile had been a better service and had gotten off the ground much earlier when the Android store was still a complete shit-show that made the average PS Mini look like a premium product.

I know it's not a popular opinion here but if the Vita has a type of Android OS in it, I think it would've fared better. Exclusive mode for actual games and the Android app store for utility would've been very nice if Sony somehow made it work.

yea i think DR3 is a for sure bet. It sold good in the West, well in NA at least, according to some dude in an NPD thread some months ago.
