Official Destiny Alpha Withdrawal Thread

Just put a request through to join Destiny GAF. PSN and Bungie ID are the same as my GAF name.

The alpha has only made the wait to September seem even longer :(

anyone knows a quick way to take down a fallen walker ? it takes ages to kill one of them even with a rocket launcher

Have everyone focus fire on one leg, rocket launch/lmg the leg to reveal the core. Pull out your sniper and you can do 1500-2000 damage per hit on the core. Times this by three people and the Walker will be done in less than five minutes.

Game really needs a "return to Tower" option in nav mode. Would bypass returning to orbit and selecting the destination.

The speeds of optical discs and HDDs haven't increased nearly as fast as the size of memory pools. Games simply have way more setup than they used to, and the storage hasn't sped up to accommodate. PS4 and XB1 are trying to get around that via mandatory installs, but even so, load times are a problem.

If a level from Halo 1 was cached on your oXbox HDD, you could cold boot to gameplay in under 30 seconds.

On a second note, I sadly was only able to play about an hour of the alpha before having to leave town for a trip. Didn't get back in time to play any more of it :.( What I did play I really enjoyed,and after reading everyone's reactions, I was 10x hyped to play more.

Anybody think there exists a remote possibility that Bungie will flip the Alpha back on for a day or two before the Beta launches?? I don't know if I can wait that long...

thanks mate, yeah I use the sniper for massive damages.
it seems very effective with a squad with mic but with random guys ...

An SSD or Hybrid drive is a worthy investment for your PS4. Terabyte Hybrids are like $100.

Okay, so as someone who didn't play Alpha and is hyping this up for Beta and release - without PS4 as of now (am buying Infabundle near the end of the month)

How much hyper should I be? The atmosphere is amazing (got that from videos), the environments are awesome and awesomely looking, the clouds and lightplay, the enemies, the oh-so emational peter ghost and I am saving talk about gunplay for my own experience during the beta. AKLSHDLA

Anyway, thought I'd bump my psn Id too, I'm njd82 and will be back on the crack, sorry, I mean back on Destiny as soon as that Beta drops.

Also, I'm from the UK and really do prefer players around 25 and up, just a personal pref, no offence to anyone!

Well shit, somone point me to some good wired/wireless headphone thread so I can begin to look for some good souding and talk-able headphones.
 
K I'm in the Bungie group, username Assassio.

I should probably ask a Mod to change my name on GAF to match it so it's easier, but I've had so many changes I doubt I'd be allowed lol.

I deleted the Alpha because I didnt want to see the awesome logo and try booting it up again only to be majorly disappointed!!

I honestly cannot wait to play the Beta with you guys, especially you Raishin!

Yo I need to be in that clan before it's full tho.
 
If I use a mic, can public players only hear me if they're also using one?

Is it now or never for DestinyGAF? Not sure how much I'll play in the Crucible (didn't get a chance try it in the beta), but will be playing a lot of the Story and Strike stuff I think
 
Is this going to be a PS4 only beta or are the Xbox One people getting in as well? I also wonder if the 360 and PS3 people will get some action too.

Xbox One owners will indeed have the Beta. Not sure if confirmed but may be a couple days after PS4 users get it.

This is what I use. I can hear enemy footsteps, mic is very clear. Not the most comfortable though. But it is all in one for me. I use it on my MBP as well.

I requested to join. My username is the same as my GAF name just with an X at the end.

Though if I may make a suggestion. We should have an Xbox destiny clan and a PlayStation clan.
