For newest IP characters, I strongly believe that they shouldn't be DLC characters because they would be better off being playable characters for next generation Smash. Such as Wonder Red, Inkling, etc.

Yeah I can understand that. Gotta see how the characters work in their own world first before working them in Smash.

Huh. What do you know about that. Character DLC makes me itchy for some reason, but fuck it. I'd pay another £40 to double the roster. Triple it even. Characters everywhere. All the characters. Fuck it. Every Pokemon & all of Fox's animal friends & Raiden, Big Daddy, Dante, and Heihachi...

I want to add more to this but it's so time consuming

...but they could save all this stuff for the next Smash...

Yeah every Smash usually focuses on the generation before it when it comes to characters and stages (with Greninja being the major exception). You saw that with Brawl not having an Galaxy representation despite coming after. Melee didn't have Olimar for example. It's great to see newcomers who are not only from old games but from recent games like Rosalina, Wii Fit Trainer, Mii and possibly Shulk.

Wonderful 101 and Inklings are prime examples of characters who should be in Smash 5. I mean what other new IP's other than these and S.T.E.A.M. has Nintendo done this generation that could be used for new characters? Are we expecting more new IP's to come this generation?

Making brand new characters like Inklings DLC sort of kills hype for an eventual Smash 5 though.
I feel like DLC characters should only go as far as bringing back cut characters and adding new clones (like Slippy as a new Fox clone :p)

If Nintendo keeps doing what they're doing (allowing teams to make NEW CHARACTER IPs and allowing side characters to become more active in their series) then there should be no reason to worry about new characters from around SSB4's release becoming DLC ... seeing as Smash 5 is like a 2020 title :p

That's so far a way it's not even worth thinking about imo. DLC seems like it would be a "yearish after release!" deal or something that wouldn't take away from Smash 5's hype.

And even if they did decide to just keep updating with DLC characters instead of something, I'm down with that. If they can make something else the selling point instead of "new characters!" then why not give people what they want with DLC and save game changer updates to the gameplay for new games?

Dillon, Pushmo/Crashmo instantly come to mind.

Awesome effort :3

Uh... one thing though: one of those character portraits is a potential spoiler for those who haven't completed the game they belong to ;D

Edit: Come to think of it, I wonder how long something can be out and playable before talking about the plot twist/characters in it is no longer considered worthwhile hiding behind spoilers. People seem pretty open about Lucina's secret but the identity of '7' is a closely guarded one even to this day :o

It's only a spoiler for a small portion of the game - if Hades is there, there's no point hiding her.

Worry about 5 when you get to it, until then go all in with Smash 4.

Despite Palutena easily being my most wanted newcomer out of the three revealed at E3 and expecting Pac/Mii to be fairly boring additions, I'm weirded out at how much more interested I am now for Pac-Man and Mii Fighter.

Mii & Pac had a lot of potential to be taken the wrong way.

boring wii sports inspried mii or tooth-pac would've been horrible additions.

Palutena on the flipside has a customization gimmick that kinda made it hard to tell how she'd actually play from her gameplay footage, while we've seen a ton of mii & pac to understand how they function.

Yeah, all of Palutena's footage has been stand alone shots of her specials. We still don't really know how she functions.

I'm still super hyped about her though. :)

Yeah Pac Man I imagine would've been really hard to turn into a fighter but they did a great job. Since when did he become a summon character? A neat way to use some of his history (the fruit, ghosts, Namco characters and the fire hydrant). One of my favourite newcomers by far considering my family grew up with him, Mario and Sonic.

One thing I am wondering about him though, how did Sakurai think to use the ghosts for each of his smashes? That was a unique way to do (I'm guessing maybe cos there are 4 of them?) it.

Today is also the last day I must suffer through being wrong about my Pichu at E3 prediction. I'll be rid of this damn Pikachu avatar.

I still believe Pichu and all the other clones will return. Sakurai won't disappoint me.

I'd take Plusle and Minun as well.

Pretty logical choice once you figure out that summoning namco/pac-themed objects is gonna be his gimmick.

Who the hell wants a self-harming pre evolution.

The value of Mii Fighter entirely depends on how robust the clothing customisation is. If I can make a legitimate looking Dante, 11/10. If I can't, epic fail waste of three slots.

Pic of the day. Pac-Man's standard special move, Bonus Fruit. As you charge this move, the bonuses will change, and all of them have different characteristics and movement patterns when thrown. The bonuses cycle in the same order as in the original game, and the charge-up period doubles once you cycle beyond the orange.
Interesting!
I'm really happy with Pac Man design too.

so I just found this

d86.gif

Of course she poses when she gets right up in the camera's face,
she's a white girl.

She's already got the yoga pants. Someone shop the magenta "PINK" Victoria's Secret waistband on her yoga pants, add in uggs and a cup of Starbucks in one hand, iPhone in the other, and slap on a "WHITE GIRLS" caption. It practically writes itself!
