No bald cap? Lies!
Man I wish it was the 30th already, I hate seeing these new patches because I want to see what's been added and fixed but I've already play through the opening like 6 times now for several hours. I just want the final game so I can really dive in.

Watched the stream - with that level editor the possibilities are endless, basically a non-shit version of NWN is about to be released and no one seems to care... Where is the hype?

I bought a copy yesterday. The game is fun but I don't wanna play it too much and have to start all over again on the 30th. At the same time there's nothing else out that I really want to play. Arrggh

All they have to do is announce that save games will be compatible with the final release and I'll start tonight!

..er, right after I finish Ace Attorney Investigations 2!

For some reason, I was thinking the release on this was the 20th. Darn it. Guess I'll wait until the 1st to purchase.

Looks awesome.

I'm quietly confident that this will make enough waves upon release to get the attention that it (up to now seems to) deserve. I think they'll be long-term waves also, this game'll have legs I wager. At the least, I'm hopeful it'll do well further down the line once it's out of release window and the Sales start to feature it - fingers crossed that it lights a spark immediately however. Everything about Larian is super commendable and they deserve some success with this.

It was delayed to the 30th so they could add some voice acting.

Personally I'd rather they just released it and patched in the voicework whenever.

I'd guess that timing of the Steam Sale also has something to do with it, which is understandable. Plus, given their history, Larian really, really, really want to release a game as bug-free as possible. (Interesting interview going into that.)

So basically, the same thing happened as at CDV. They needed it to come out to survive, because they were in trouble. We could have postponed it. So again, Ego Draconis was… If you look at the Metacritic on Dragon Knight Saga and look at the Metacritic on Ego Draconis, it’s like a 10 percent difference. But it’s the same game. The only thing that changed there is bug fixing.

That’s why you’re not seeing us release Original Sin yet, and why we keep on postponing it. As long we’re finding bugs – and we still have a long list of bugs to squash – we’re not going to release it. If it’s not ready by spring, we’ll just postpone it. We’re not going to release it early. Not this one. So much love and effort has gone into it, and so much hope on our side, that it would be suicidal to release it.

Just bought the game... Is this the "near" final product? Or will we get some final patch in 2 days?
I wonder if I should wait or play it right away :)

Wait at least on a serious playthrough, it'll be replaced by the full game when it hits.

On the other hand I guess you could use it to quickly test HOW you want to play the game, then commit with the final version.

Saves aren't compatible with the final release. The early access is only the first chunk of the game, it's missing a whole ton of content.

Saves you make now will not be compatible with the final release, so you can play around a bit now, but wait until the 30th to start a serious playtrough.

Have they talked about when the AI personality system will be improved/finalised, I recently discovered it while editing a character and thought it was pretty cool, especially for those of us that won't be focusing on the co-op aspect it could add a lot of replay value and means you don't have to RP two characters simultaneously.

You could spend between now and release planning on how to spec your characters in meticulous detail, documenting every point so you can jump right in. You may want to create the the ultimate min/max machine or maybe you lean more towards RP....

...but it doesn't matter because either way, on release, you still won't have a clue where to put your points.

I've already decided that I'm going with a Witch and a Knight, and will spend points as I see fit (without any planning :p)

Really wish they'd pull a Xenonauts and release the 1.0 game and just come out of early access after the sale.

I know why they don't want to do it, and I respect that. But I'm itching for it here! Gimme!

Nice, the release for this just snuck right up on me.

It's been one of my most anticipated games since I first heard of it. Will most likely be buying on Day 1.

Thanks guys :) I'll just fool around for a bit than, didn't want to spoil myself.

It was so hard not to read about this one or to resist buying early access earlier :p

I wish they would release it. I have managed to stay away from every video since me and my friend are very hyped to coop it. Last days are always the hardest :p

Going to be this, Wasteland 2 or Dragon Age 3.

JK will be this or Wasteland 2.

Or Pillars in the highly unlikely situation in which it isn't delayed until 2015. Don't count out Might & Magic X either, yea it's a know quantity at this point, but it was damn good.

Pillars is GOTY 2015 for sure. Have yet to try M&MX, thanks for the reminder.

Where can I find a list of classes in the game? Thanks

It's a bit like Dark Souls, you get starting classes but you make whatever character build you want.

Here's a list:

- Fighter
- Knight
- Cleric
- Wizard
- Witch
- Wayfarer
- Enchanter
- Battlemage
- Ranger
- Rogue
- Shadowblade

You can also edit the abilities/skills and the talents of each staring class and make whatever you want.

You think Pillars is going to go up against Witcher 3 and win? Sorry sport, I can't see that happening. I think CDPR are taking no prisoners, they are a determined lot to be certain. 2015 is looking like a damn fine year for RPG's though. I'm thinking Durante's 2014 year of the RPG thread was perhaps a bit premature. :)

Do you believe they will really release their game on 30.6.? This could be the final day of the steam summer day. Maybe pushing back the date 1-7days would be better xD

Eh, it depends on what you consider a "win". The Witcher 3 looks great, and I don't think anyone is saying otherwise but the expectations and promise that Pillars of Eternity has, that is to reach the levels of Baldur's Gate II is a step beyond that. It's definitely no meager task to accomplish, and we'll have to wait and see if they can though. However even if Obsidian does accomplish this you can expect major AAA focused publications to likely ignore the game. Even in 2014 I doubt many major publications will mention Might & Magic X - Legacy, Divinity: Original Sin, or Wasteland 2 in their GOTY articles.

So, I only have two complaints with this game now and they are both graphical. Really hope we can find/get a fix for higher quality ambient occlusion and that annoying shadow lod transition. The shadows in particular really get me, since you can see the cut off line for high -> low lod as you move around. Otherwise, I'm fucking loving the hell out of the game.

Sorry if this has been answered but will the "release" be a patch? Might go ahead and download if so.

This is the only game I've ever kickstarted but I've managed to hold playing so far. Only a couple more weeks!

Bloodborne is out that year in the same period, and when those two fight it's going to be AO worthy.

Though yeah delays undermined 2014. Guess it works as an American school year though!

The Witcher series is OK but the combat and character progression is super shallow. Also I prefer my rpgs party based. As far as I'm concerned Pillars has already won.

no Pillars this year? that a shame, 2014 was supposed to be the glorious RPG year and now the easily 2 best ones, witcher and pillars are no longer part of it :(

although I am always disappointed with larian games I will definitely play original sin day 1, it was off the radar for me, too, because all the early access, alpha, beta relases confuse the hell out of me so I simply stopped caring. good to know it will be out so soon.

Nothing is confirmed, but it's June and we haven't seen anything of the game besides some screenshots (that are beatiful btw) so it's better to have low expectations about it's release date, then if they release it this year awesome, and if they don't release it this year, well we expected that.

To be quite frank as someone that plays rpgs of all ilk (Pnp, jrpg, wrpg, srpg, mmos, muda, moos... u name it) I don't enjoy the witcher one bit. It is a scripted power fantasy action narrative game in the modern console tradition with little true 'role' playing. They aren't bad games...and if you have an interest in the specific fantasy Geralt inspires then I imagine you could become quite passionate about them.

Now their Cyberpunk game could prove exciting.

More importantly about Divinity:OS...can I bake bread? I want to recapture the feel of U7 in a coop experience and nothing cements that more than peacefully baking bread in brittannia, exploring the marshes for mandrake, finding a virtue cave, spending all your mandrake dealing with truly murderous random creatures...just so much I want that immersion again.

Wait, we can bake bread!?!

Really looking forward to this. Moving the rig away from the comfy couch to a desk so that I can enjoy this proper!
