I only plan to buy figures for characters I use, so I'm going to wait for Falco, Luigi, Greninja, Palutena, and Wolf. As for the game use of the Amiibo, I'll probably only train the Falco figure and give him the same customization that I pick when I play Falco.

I'll do my best to train them all, I'm probably doing the same, I'd like to buy them all but I don't think I have enough money for it.

I'm really looking foward too see how the other amiibos will look like especialy little mac and olimar.

You know, I think I might do the same actually. Training a whole squadron of my favorite Nintendo characters sounds so appealing. I hope their use in non-Smash games isn't too trivial.

Indeed, a Nintendo squadron that can be used to spank random friends in Smash.

My hope is that they'll let us play as every amiibo character in games such as Mario Kart and Mario Party, using the figurines as a key to unlock them in-game or something similar.

I said I wouldn't continue this, but I thought of a simple way to explain things to Beelzebufo.

Most people think Squirtle and Ivysaur are cut because they were part of a larger character like Charizard, and unlike Zelda/Sheik and Samus/ZSS, they didn't have their component parts confirmed. That suggests that in their case, the whole is not intact. Otherwise, why not do what was done for Zelda/Sheik or Samus/ZSS, and immediately assuage concerns for their inclusion?

That's not arbitrary. That's a valid point. Zelda's Sheik was kept, and confirmed. Samus' ZSS was kept, and confirmed. But Charizard's Squirtle and Ivysaur were NOT. This is why people think Squirtle and Ivysaur are cut. Snake, meanwhile, can't be broken into parts. Which means we have nothing by which to surmise he's cut or not. We are totally in the dark on this matter.

Maybe it would be comparable if Sakurai announced "Snake's Severed Foot" and didn't show the rest of Snake. Then we could be like, "Well shit, I guess Snake is cut." But that's not the case. :-P

You're getting him as a sticker again and you'll like it dammit!

Surprisingly enough, since Ike was updated to his Radiant Dawn design I have more faith in the Black Knight being represented in Smash as a boss/AT considering he's the most prominent antagonist across Ike's games.

They even had him as a trophy in Brawl, so I can't imagine why he wouldn't be a good candidate as an AT. When it comes to Fire Emblem villains, he's one of the more instantly recognizable and iconic characters.

Although, I think I'd prefer one of the Laguz Kings but I strongly doubt something like that would happen.

I mainly use the C-stick for aerials when I don't want it to affect my momentum in the air. Sometimes for a quick smash, though I don't really have a problem of doing it the normal way.

I just never liked using the C-Stick. I always prefer having my thumb rest on my buttons. C-stick just throws me off super-hard.

C-stick for tilt moves would be great.

pretty much this, thou I use quick smash more than manual smash, as for tilts I never got trouble using the left stick, as I do utilt with the c-stick so I never jump on accident on air

It's hard for me to play the game without the c-stick. I can do Smash attacks fine, but it's just hard to erase the muscle memory of using c-stick. Mostly for aerials, but for mid-combo smashes too.

I think Melee having different controls in single player is a tripping level of dumb design decision. It's so bad trying to go back and play single player now ;_;

How often do you guys use the c stick? For me it depends on the situation and character.

I use it for air-normal shenanigans. Like to move forward while still doing back-air when trying to block someone's recovery. Really helpful for someone like Dedede with his multiple jumps and amazing BAir.

Requires claw technology though.

I don't know that I'd say requires. I usually just jump and then move my finger quickly to the c-stick.

Weren't you the one who said you can't beat a level 5 CPU?

But I don't need a c-stick to perform a smash attack though.
I'm still terrible though

Definitely would prefer this. I find myself doing smash attacks when I want to do tilts. I can't help but mash my stick in a direction and press A at the same time. It is the way of Smash.

I'm pretty sure someone at either the BB or E3 mentioned that there's now an easy way to do tilts with the c-stick! :D I hope it's true because I can't tilt to save myself :P

Well, now almost everything leaks (except Nintendo most of the time) so...
Jintor discovers the first horrors of growing old ;D

I tend to use the C-Stick pretty often. For aerials definitely, but for quick smashes it does the job, too. I also tap jump, but dammit, I've been tap jumping for 15 years. I couldn't switch at this point if I wanted it.

Regarding the POTD, I'm sure this will sound stupid/farfetched/too nerdy to 99% of people, but I love how they've outlined the pixelated sprites. In fact, they've elegantly solved a question that often pops up when mixing resolutions.
You see, when you put a low resolution, retro sprite in a high resolution environment, unless the sprite itself already had an outline, you need to put one so that it doesn't clash with the background. The options I've seen the most are:

1) An outline with the width of one of the pixels in the higher resolution background. This tends to look "weird" and clash with the original sprite, as it's "part of it" but it's at an entirely different resolution.

2) An outline width of one of the pixels of the sprite, i.e. treat the sprite as if it included an outline already. This also looks weird as sprites that don't already include an outline most often don't work too well when adding such a thick outline.

Sakurai instead has opted for a third:
3) An outline of one half the width of the sprite's pixels. This meshes well with the original sprite because it aligns well with its own pixels (it looks as if each pixel in the sprite was actually four pixels in the "new" sprite that includes the border) but it's thin enough that doesn't deform it. Frankly, I love it!

OK, after the madman rant, an observation by my girlfriend. I asked her what character would she like to see included, and she said the roster needed more villains. I somehow didn't figure out myself, but indeed, if the Gematsu leak is all there is, this will be the first Smash sequel that includes less than two new villains; in fact, it will be the first to include ZERO new villains.

For those who didn't know, tree hits when growing (as well as when falling):

Once tree is out, down B is replaced by axe until tree is gone.

Bonus! Tiny tree!
