Your not exactly friendly in your tone and quite combative, as to what I was referred to as by Shadownet ...... I am only but one of a number of admins.

I am quite happy to engage in conversation and take a position, just not interested in being insulted.
 
Let me give you a very simple example.

A 360 player funds a great way to take down a spider tank. As all platforms of the game have the same content, their tactics work on all platforms.

So they share the tactics on DestinyGAF

If they share their tactics on a platform agnostic group, players on all platforms pick up the method and everyone can try it.

On a platform specific group, only the 369 players find out about it.

Same with hidden areas, story points, exotic weapons, upgrades and so on.
 
It was cool bumping into GAF members in the Alpha and it will be even more awesome playing alongside you guys in Beta then final!

This is a precaution. By separating it by consoles you assure that there is a bigger chance that the members in your group will be able to join you. If 400 are ps4 players and 100 are xbone players then those xbone players are basically shafted with limitation on who they can play with. This isn't rocket science. Bigger groups requires more management. Jumping the gun and saying your clan is all encompassing is implying you know what the size limit is and you think you'll be safe. Because if you don't know what happens if a group of like 50 people have to make their own separate group because all 600 spots are filled up in destiny gaf?

Tl; dr figure out what the size cap is. For now there's no issue and it should be better to separate by console until we know what's going on.

We're adults people. Instead of crying that somebody else made a different group let's sit down and figure a solution. Because like I said this is the most logical and realistic approach to groups in a forum as big as neogaf.

Let's have one group and then platform subs. It's simple and nice and means we can all speak to each other.

Or, let's have two groups. And decide all of this in the Crucible. To battle!

In a sense, information flows through gaf at a pretty fast rate so I don't feel like it matters if we have platform specific groups. I assume that at least quite a few of the players here are in both groups, so information would definitely arrive at both close to the same time.

I hope we can get this group stuff figured out. I joined both for now but I think it would be best for us all to be under the same group at bungie.net so we can all share our experiences together. There is no cap so all the segregation into groups by platform and timezones can be done by the admins over at bungie.net.

As a third party to all this I don't see the insults

Not that I'm the arbiter of what is and isn't insulting but I'm an expert at insulting myself and as a pro I'd say Tiemen sucks at it if he is trying

Thanks to all for organizing this.

How will this translate to when the game is released? Are these groups accessible in game or will we have to migrate to a clan or what?
 
Ok guys, I have a few things to do so I am going to drop out for awhile ...... there are other admins approving people and we are pretty well covered in that regard.

Rest assured this group will not be disbanded on the whim of another, but neither shall progress towards what is best for players be impeded ..... this group as far as I am concerned is owned by the collective and any changes (if any) will only be done with approval of the group.

I believe the beta will give us a good chance to see how things operate and we will hopefully as individuals be better informed and able to choose for ourselves, no one is forced to join obviously and do so of their own accord.

This group is an attempt to give players the best experience playing a game around which co operation and and team play are paramount to that experience, not all of us know people privately that will be playing this game so through this group and others where are hopefully creating a chance for people to team up with like minded individuals and maybe make some new online friends.

Will be about later to help with approvals and engage in any further conversation around the setting up of this group.

Ok. So anything that is not platform specific
its all platform agnostic

Can someone clarify the difference between the two...uh.."groups"? Is one a clan and one a group, are they both clans, etc. I know this one is PS4 specific and the other is all encompassing but besides that are there differences?

256 members decided of their free will to join, they might beg to differ.

All that is being provided here is a choice, if you deem this separate group unnecessary there are other groups that are more general that will suit your outlook.
