PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

I'd want to say "I'll go too" but no money to do trip yo Japan. Can I picket outside Sony's Spain Headquarters?

SCE Spain is in Madrid right? Fug it, much cheaper to go there, plus I can bum of family's house there so I won't pay for lodging.

I'll also hold up some 1-5 and 0-2 signs as well in addition to the GD2 picketing :p

Wait, in the interview he mentions AC Unity having exclusive xbox one content, but I can't find anything about that. Hasn't the exclusive AC content been mostly Playstation? What's up with this?

That Jim Ryan interview...

Vita is dead :(

Sony's take on VIta:

sony_bullshit_anim4.gif

Shouldn't be a surprise I guess...

Seems a pretty dumb way to think, as it being indie or not has jackshit to do with it's quality.

It's alright. And I won a Vita because of it, so it paid for itself and then some.

Nah its not dumb. Thats ya opinion. which is cool. I dont want low budget games anymore. I didnt ask you what you wanted.

So the two R&C titles are up now. Somehow, I went two generations without playing any game from the series. Of the two, which one is better? (Or do the classics outshine the Future trilogy?)

They are all awesome.

The HD Collection is awesome, with Up Your Arsenal being my favorite of the PS2 Ratchets.

The Future Trilogy is also awesome, with Tools being an almost redux of the PS2 games. It was my first R&C, as I had only played a demo of the first one at the time it came out. A Crack in Time is, in my opinion, the best Ratchet of the entire series, with Up Your Arsenal nibbling at its heels as my favorite.

You can't go wrong with any, but I recommend just starting from Tools and going forward to ACIT if you don't have/want the HD Collection. It's one of my favorite series from Sony, truth told.

I passed these over on PS2 also. I was more into strategy and JRPGs and R&C didn't interest me then. Thanks for the impressions.

Deciding between the R&C and J&D collection is hard.

-yawn-

All the Vita hate bores me, the undue speculation as well.

What undue speculation, 2 Top Sony Execs stated they are scrapping 1st party support, and that their initial purpose for the product to people who bought it at launch has drastically changed. Enlighten me as a consumer why I should not feel a bit upset?

Furthermore additional areas can't even keep track on what is/is not releasing on the platform... Type-O(no no).

Like indies but I doubt we're gonna get anything substantial from 3rd parties lol. Would have loved another uncharted or that Bioshock game. Not a fan of alot of the Japanese games either unless its SS. Damn Sony.

Odd and frustrating, I purchased the Kat (Gravity Rush) character DLC for Hot Shots Golf, installed and restarted my game. Yet the game still prompts me to buy it and won't unlock it for me....

What can I do?

I'm kinda glad they're being honest with their recent interviews about Vita, if they weren't we would not have this going on.
A little bit of backlash can't certainly hurt.

I feel like I'm the only one that calls it Gravity Rush

I do it too! That's clearly the superior name, but it's called Daze in most places

I would much rather see P5 vita.

I'll sit a little far from you then. I don't want to be beaten by a crowd of angry crazy football supporters.

What do you mean, all I see is the same few people repeating this so called "riot"

It's not going to work unless the PS user base actually backed up Vita.

Could you guys just drop that already? It was funny the first time, but this is getting pointless.
but it can be true

#believe

There's inFamous, I have Watch_Dogs here since a friend of mine just gave it to me.
Interested in LBP3 and the PlayStation Plus backlog too. Probably not enough to justify a new console though. Not sure yet. :/
Wait for a sale.

Cyborg can vouch it's a serious possibility. It's not a joke.

If it wasn't for the upcoming port of Disgaea 4 and Frozen Synapse Tactics, I'd be considering selling my Vita right now. :/

I really hope more of these "100 titles in development" are shown later this year.

I'd just wait a couple of months, then. Get the Destiny White PS4 bundle or maybe a better bundle.

Huh? What am I suppose to find there?
People bitching about Vita's treatment. Having their pristine PS4 public image constantly "tainted" by a lot of angry customers can only be a good thing for us.

The E3 debacle got Yoshida saying publicly "Now I understand that there are people who love Vita and they're not necessarily planning to buy a PS4 soon".

Keep scrolling, it's going on nonstop for a few days, of course there's gonna be someone who keeps spamming it.

Really? I thought the VMU was available at Dreamcast launch, which was November 1998 in Japan. PocketStation came out two months later.

This would be a win/win for me if so, as I have been properly chastised for not looking shit up, yet somehow actually remembered something accurately

Sneakypedia and this site both say July of 98 for a Godzilla virtual pet branded VMU, with 11-27 for the Dreamcast branded one.

If I ever sell my Vita it'll be after Persona 4 Dancing and even then I might be remorseful of letting go of it because of all the digital games I bought for it and not even bother selling.

Thanks. It just brings up what's trending on twitter, but I didn't see anything Vita related.

Talk is cheap, especially from that man regarding this platform.

It's hilarious how Sony has completely heel turned the moment the mainstream press looked away. Do remember, Shawn Layden said SCE is "fully committed" to Vita at that E3 presser hours before Yoshida's comments. Unprecedented commitment ...

Frozen synapse is puuuuurrrfect for the vita any updates?

I've been asking just that recently. As far as I know, it'll be coming out "when it's ready", but the alpha gameplay footage they revealed in February looked surprisingly polished so I'm not really sure what the hold up is.
The FrozenSynapseTacticsTwitter account hasn't been updated recently either, so who know's what they've been doing with it.

That's just PR bullshit. Especially considering it's coming from che CEO of SCEA and that he was saying that at E3, the whole Layden segment was PR bullshit, they never knew how to handle a portable system and when they tried "supporting" them, it was just with spinoffs of console titles. His words don't mean anything.

Having said that, even Yoshida's a PR guy, obviously, but since he's actually greenlighting everything and since he's extremely exposed to social media, he's the man to pester. I think he got the message and I'm sure he's not exactly thrilled about those sensationalist headlines.

Times like this I wish PlayStation had a cushion of funds like Nintendo to weather software droughts and make heavy investments for long term outcomes. As it stands it's pretty clear they're all in on the PS4 at this point because they need to, not because they have a choice.

Edit: At least last year I was under the impression that while the margins are slim, combined with the high attach rate, Vita was still profitable.

Yeah I don't really see the point of fighting against sony. It's just a failed product. I don't really expect them to fully support something that is clearly failing.

All I've had are third party stuff honestly. Don't even feel the need for first party games.

But that's not the point, it's like there are two Sonys, one that is making excellent exclusive games for the Vita and the other one who decides to not tell anybody about them. Why are they even making them if they're not trying to sell them?

I already said this but why the hell would you ever show at E3 this or announce that Child of Light is coming to Vita instead of showing your own games like Freedom Wars? Why is a Fat Princess puzzle game getting more exposure than something as beautiful as OreShika? You're literally boycotting your own platform.
Where are the Freedom Wars and OreShika E3 trailers on Playstation's Youtube channel? They're games announced for the West.
Why did they show a Vita sizzle reel of f2p games instead of the one they uploaded on youtube? I mean, ffs, they even uploaded Danganronpa 2's trailer then immediately made it private and after a few days set it back to public so now that trailer is one of the least viewed of all E3's trailers. /endofrant
