Well yeah, I understand that context means everything, but then again "The Wizard came from the moon" sounds like a progrock double album.

It's a scifi game that has wizards and the moon. Can't get too worried about one coming from the other.

"Hey Guys, I'm a wizard and this Moon looks fucked up"

In the context of Destiny, a game where you can play as a space wizard (well, space warlock but that is a whole other debate which includes sorcerers and mages) a wizard of an enemy faction coming from the moon makes perfect sense.

The line is still super weird and odd though just because those words, in that order, came out of Dinklage's mouth.

I wonder if anyone in the development team ever questioned that line. Or maybe to them it sounds exactly the same as if someone developing a modern military game had written "that engineer came from beyond the forest".

Stupid line and I feel they wasted money in hiring a talented actor to do a purposefully bland performance. Also I'm not a fan of popular actors doing VO with their "own" voice.

I like the Jeff/Brad discussion on the possibility of a Capcom hostile takeover where they assumed it would be a first party studio or a big Japanese studio, and not like a Chinese F2P/browser/mobile studio.

Aw man, they didn't get to hear the Capcom rap song at the end of the DR3 QL. Jeff would have loved that.

Brad, some OP characters are Felicia, Regina, and Edward Falcon. I find the characters with the highest attack power (the red bar) are usually the best. Oh, and being the first to get the objectives is always good as they give way more points.

I would be down for a Capcom + Konami merger. Both companies are kind of half assing it so maybe toghter they can put together a decent lineup. Plus Capcom could help Konami take advantage of some of its older arcade IP like Capcom does with theirs.

But yeah if a sale does happen its probably to some random Chinese corporation

I totally fucked-up when I said that. I honestly thought that was announced officially, and I feel terrible. I violated a trust and I apologize to the parties involved. It's all on me and I take full responsibility.

I am sorry :-(

You really messed up on that, no way around it. However, you did probably save this community from imploding in on itself. So at least there's that.

Reiner has got to be pissed that GB is taking all his talent! Jason is good people (his wife is really cool too on the home streams) and he likes fighting games! Finally Jeff will have someone who he can go toe to toe with.

Why would a pachinko and fitness company like Konami want to merge with a F2P mobile phone game company like Capcom??

The big question is what the hell is a big japanese gaming company anymore outside of the first parties, of which Nintendo is facing rapid declines across the board and Sony is still trying to claw its way back up from years of losses.

Besides that, last gen saw just about every great dev that worked for capcom leave, outside of Ono who is apparently working himself into an early grave.

I can see nintendo wanting access to some of that old IP that capcom has done dogshit with and maybe Sony desperately wanting Monhun to give the Vita a boost but besides that, the company is either going to dissolve or be bought up by one of those loaded mobile gaming companies.

That Dead Rising DLC is a bummer. The only reason you'd keep playing (after getting over the craziness of it) is too see a new costume. With the missions being as dreadfully repetitive as they are, that doesn't sound like a fun proposition, at all.

"Kill 750 zombies" - no, thank you.

Eh, it's not all bad.

Arcsys still does what they do and I love what they do a lot.

NISA as well.

Tecmo Koei actually has quite a number of good games depending on your taste.

Namco bandai similarly.

Sega is actually pretty good when you factor in all the PC stuff they do. Also they're the owners of Atlus now. Also I actually like Project Diva F.

Europe pls.

Watching the Battlefield Hardline video, I can't help but think WHY would anybody choose a knife when they can have a baseball bat? Doesn't make any sense, obviously you'd pick the bat.

Things I want from a Japanese publisher.

  • No 5+ years from announcement to release BS like you get from Square.
  • A steady lineup of games in their portfolio. Not just desperately trying to stay alive between the next big Metal Gear or Final Fantasy.
  • Some Japanese weirdness but not a lot of Japanese creepyness
  • Reasonable EU releases because fuck Atlus
  • Releasing games on current consoles because fuck Atlus

+ the normal stuff you want from a publisher like not going to heavy on micro tranactions and F2P.

Capcom was kind of that for a few years last gen. What went wrong with Capcom anyway? Their change couldnt all be down to Inafune bailing. Was it all Bionic Commandos fault? Was that the turning point?
