The other versions of Frontier have IP checks, and block anyone not in Japan. I hope you live in Japan or are content with just keeping it as a shelf piece or something ...
When I called it a kiss of death game, I kind of meant it. Frontier is only released on the platforms (PC, 360, PS3, Wii U, and Vita) that don't get real Monster Hunter games. That makes sense, because if you can pay a one time fee, why would you keep a monthly Frontier subscription? (Yes, I realize that MH/Dos/Tri had monthly online fees in JP, but that era seems to be over now with 4)
That's besides the point even if it's successful, that doesn't really mean Capcom proper will do more on the platform. Frontier is handled by Capcom Online Games, the branch of the company that's completely separated from the group that makes Resident Evil/Basara/Monster Hunter/etc. It's the group of the company behind things like Dragon's Dogma Quest and Breath of Fire 6 ...
I don't think it'll do well either. Frontier doesn't really do well on anything, and I can't see the handheld audience going gaga over a subscription based always online MMO on a device that isn't always online.
