PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Well I think It's time to upgrade from an 8gb card to a 16.
I'm not ready to pay the asking price for the 32 but I really want to start playing through FFX2 soon and don't want to uninstall half of my library to do it.

You're welcome, I found out last month but I didn't think anyone cared.

I always care. I always care...

Just saw amazon us has Minecraft listed finally too... I know the game is probably only 100MB or something, but I'm still going to try and find out if the NA copy is an actual game card. Probably not, since I know the UK release is just a download code in a box.

Also saw Lego Batman 3 listed... I never bought any of those because they're 3DS ports, and I'm not exactly into the franchise, but now that there will be 3 of them I wouldn't mind having a Batman trilogy on my Vita shelves. Picking up 1 & 2 should be pretty cheap by then.

Feels good to have that 64GB after owning the 32GB since day 1. I tell you it feels liberating to have about 15 DD retail games and about 50 indies AND around 30 PSP/PS1 games and still have 10GB~ of space left.

FEELS GOOD.

How do you know that Minecraft is just a download code?

As for Lego Batman, the first one predates Vita by a few years. It was released on PSP, though.

I think the problem with the modern portable Lego games, now that DS is gone, is their end destination:

It's an embarrassment that the Vita versions are just DS/3DS upscales. It could easily run the console versions.

hmm I went to amazonuk listing just now to screencap where I was certain that it said download code, or voucher the last time I checked it, but now it says "Box contains: Minecraft game card"

Maybe it will be... I won't complain if it is.

Yikes... that's a sight bit worse than being a hardcore PC gamer and know that anything you play that isn't PC exclusive is geared towards a console business plan.

What are people thinking in terms of whether to get Minecraft on Vita or PS4? Can't decide which console the game will lend itself better to for me.

The only reason I'm getting it all is because it's releasing on Vita. LBP has always been my go to game for making stuff, so I'll just be getting it to try it out, fart around for awhile and then put it on the shelf. I have a friend who really loves Minecraft, though, so I might end up playing it with them more than I plan to.

PS4 will be the best version since the worlds will be "significantly" bigger. Its not hard to decided which version to get since getting the PS3 version gives you the Vita version due to cross buy. You can then upgrade your PS3 version to the PS4 version for $5 dollars. Have it all.

I really need to get LBP Vita. It's one of the first-party games I'm missing.

It's a good one. I've been an LBP addict since 2008, and it's the best LBP game. The only thing LBP2 has over LBPV is that MM's style is a bit looser, unpredictable, more original and inspired in story mode, and it can handle more in create mode depending on what you're trying to do. LBPV's create tools and interface is better, though. LBPV even controls a wee bit tighter.

There's ex community creators who work for Tarsier that I believe don't work for Sumo (unless they made the jump after LBPV finished), and even though Sumo helped some with LBPV and handle all the DLC now, I can only hope LBP3 is as solid as LBPV was.

Just finished level 3-1, didn't take long to get that 100 deaths trophy. Played for about 5 hours today and the levels are getting longer and more devious, I love it. Think I'll stop for today though.

Also, shit's getting freaky. *Chapter 3-1 spoiler*

Found my 5 psn code from e3 experience in my spam folder. Should I get PSABR or hold out and just use it for Child of Light Vita? I didn't particularly care for the PSABR demo I should mention.

I'm playing Marvel Puzzle Quest like crazy and god damn this should be on Vita like yesterday. I would probably even spend for iap on it to.

I would kill to have non-PSP Puzzle Quest on Vita... just give me the Steam/PS3/PS2 version, which ever one is easiest to port. They're the same game, but it just looks funny on PSP.

I always forget about that game and how much I love it.

yup, that was around vita launch for me. PSABR is the only thing in current sale slightly interested in. The crossbuy is what has my attention but yea just really wasnt into it.

Think i will just sit on credit for child of light then, really want to play that one.

Don't forget to support the national soccer team of Vitagaf tomorrow

Might and magic clash of heroes (IIRC) is also very good, if you have't alreasy played that. Not on Vita though.

That's nothing. The thing hiding behind the door would've been a real spoiler. ;P

I'm actually really sad that you spoiled what looks like what was supposed to be a surprising scene in tone and content, especially since this is a general thread. Surprised you laugh it off...

The fact that you said something was hiding is already a spoilerrrrrr!!!

Spoiling the descent into horror will definitely spoil the experience I'd think, if for nothing else than the CERO D rating on a somewhat tame looking game (in regards to death animations).
If that scene was originally unsettlingly out of place in the lighthearted 16bit past, not so much anymore..hide behind URL please!

I remember there was supposed to be a PSP port of Puzzle Quest 2, but it got cancelled because of a single sound bug. The devs made some other PSP puzzle game too IIRC.

Indeed. Yasumi, it'd be nice if you just linked the spoilery pics (together with some spoiler warning) instead of inserting them on the post.

Nothing against pics just showing Mion being cute, of course~

Done, got all Mind Zero trophies but the one for clearing the game on Expert. Time to do a NG+ and rush the game on Expert to get my platinum already.

My bad, removed image tags. Sorry about that guys. It's not very far in, so I didn't think it was too much of a spoiler.

Here's some relevant Pixiv cute in return.

Yeah, I played the demo a long time ago, really liked it, but never bought it. I remember thinking it would be a perfect game for Vita way back at launch when everyone was asking for simpler PSN games.

The other versions of Frontier have IP checks, and block anyone not in Japan. I hope you live in Japan or are content with just keeping it as a shelf piece or something ...

When I called it a kiss of death game, I kind of meant it. Frontier is only released on the platforms (PC, 360, PS3, Wii U, and Vita) that don't get real Monster Hunter games. That makes sense, because if you can pay a one time fee, why would you keep a monthly Frontier subscription? (Yes, I realize that MH/Dos/Tri had monthly online fees in JP, but that era seems to be over now with 4)

That's besides the point even if it's successful, that doesn't really mean Capcom proper will do more on the platform. Frontier is handled by Capcom Online Games, the branch of the company that's completely separated from the group that makes Resident Evil/Basara/Monster Hunter/etc. It's the group of the company behind things like Dragon's Dogma Quest and Breath of Fire 6 ...

I don't think it'll do well either. Frontier doesn't really do well on anything, and I can't see the handheld audience going gaga over a subscription based always online MMO on a device that isn't always online.

This indeed. However, the Capcom still thinks they could somehow lure ppl into MHF, by using mainline MH series (or portable series, in the past) as the tutorial. They package the brochure of MHF to other console or handheld MH games :p

And as for MHF it self, the game isn't bad. It is a Monster Hunter after all. What ppl hate about MHF is its notoriously priced microtransaction fees. The high price of each microtransaction is what makes MHF somehow profitable, even with rather small userbase.

Also, MHF's difficulty level is unreasonably high. For some end-game bosses only few percentages of subscribers have beaten them, and Capcom openly stated the number is too high so that they should have made it more difficult.
