PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

The "sort of sequel" part is a bit worrying. Wonder why he'd say that. I just want it on my Vita. It's 89.75% the reason I bought a Vita. I thought gyro aiming with a screen in your hands was super intuitive. Liked it in GR more than Uncharted. TGS needs to get here fast.

no... please make the GR on the Vita pls. preasseeee!!!

Sony please.

I'd rather have Freedom Wars on the PS4 than Gravity Rush.

The former is an online game that will work a lot better on a homeconsole (in the West). The former is the sequel of a game that ended with a fucking cliffhanger which was released on a platform that launched 2 years ago.

That "sort of" thing sounds like a reimagined version (remake) of the first game. They may extend it beyond the cliffhanger where the original ended in order to get the Vita buyers double dip.

It'd be nice if Gravity Rush gets a bigger recognition as a brand, since I thought it was a really charming and cool game and a underapreciated gem. But it'd make me really sad if GR2 is not on the Vita.

Prepare your signs with a 1-5 and a 0-2 suppa.

If this Gravity Rush G Delta Ultimate thing actually happens, I'm never buying a SCEJA game day one ever again. I'll give Toyama the benefit of the doubt since his English isn't that great. I do think that there's a good chance that the next Gravity Rush game won't be a Vita exclusive though. Maybe PS4/Vita, but not only Vita.

Speaking of little king's story how is the vita version?
It's a really awesome game, i had zero problems with frame rate(that's unstable but totally playable imo)
The dream is dead. Gravity Daze is no more.

It's Gravity Dase now.

Sort of sequel->you don't need to have played the first game->PS4
Fucking Yoshida, if I didn't read his interview "I don't know if successful Vita series should go on PS4" I wouldn't even think it's a possibility.

It sounds to me more like a spinoff or a Gravity Daze presequel to me, i would be ok if this means that Gravity Daze 2 will still be on Vita.

Wow.....so Sony takes a series that is linked to the Vita (and in turn could sell Vi...I mean, PlayStation TV's).....and puts it on the PS4, which NEVER played the original game before....

Nice job Sony! You really love your Vita buyers, DON'T YOU!

I'm not really that upset by this (as I enjoyed Gravity Rush a good deal but sadly didn't love as much as other people on here did :(), but JUST like Typo-0 and Sony's PITIFUL E3 showing, they are continuing to shit on what ever greatness the Vita has :(.

You know, its hard to recommend the system to people know, as despite its current library of great games....how can you push a platform that the damn company BEHIND the platform give two shits about?!

.....My bet that this is going to be one of the Cross-Platform games Sony might be doing ala the trio of Sly 4/PSAS/Ratchet FFA on PS3 2012; games that are built for the home console but down-ported to Vita with Cross-Buy and other Cross-features. Gravity Rush + (or whatever it is called), the next Sly Cooper, and maybe some kind of party game or something (a PSAS sequel?) will be the next batch of these games for the PS4/Vita.

I think, anyway :l.

I think I've come to the conclusion I dislike Fez. I gave it a fair shake and it does have some good things going for it, but yeah overall I cant honestly say I'm having much fun.

If Toyama is working on a Gravity Rush spinoff for PS4, there's not going to be a Vita sequel. The platform won't be around long enough to see it.

Also, Japan Studio has never done a multiplatform game before.

Sort of sequel? That doesn't fill me with much confidence.

Guess we'll find out when they show it again at TGS (or E3 next year if it's not a Vita game)

I think, anyway :l.

I'm really happy with the system and I have some friends that could be easily convinced to buy one if I spend more than 5 minutes talking about it.

But I'd feel like a bad person if I do it right now, since they don't like the same kind of games I do and they aren't as "informed" as I am. So they could buy the system and be disapointed down the line. And that'd be my fault.

Quick let's post some doom posts based on barely in english vague tweet about unconfirmed game ;)

Well, considering Sony's recent treatment of the Vita, that news doesn't shock me in the slightest :(. I really hope SOME good news about the Vita comes soon....its to sad continually getting upset with Sony's dumbfounded moves with the platform :l...

On a more lighter note, I got some new Vita games :D! Picked up MLB 2013 The Show, Hot Shots Golf PSP and Hot Shots Tennis PSP :). Didn't play the Hot Shots games yet but did play a bit of MLB, its a nice looking Vita game. It looks nice, runs well, and while I don't know anything about baseball, what I do get out of the gameplay is fun :). Nice get for 6 bucks in my book :).

Finally started playing Meruru+. It seems to run better than Totori, which is great. Some of the bg songs at the beginning gave me a little Tenpei Sato vibe, hope there's more like it.

And Meruru's jp voice is nicer than Totori's, gods be praised!

If it was a real sequel he wouldn't have said a "sort of sequel" imo, it will probably be GR 1.5/presequel or a spinoff set after GR.

I believe this "sort of sequel" is a standalone "spin-off" with focus on platforming and gameplay. I doubt it will only launch on PS4
(unless we're talking about an enhanced port of the first game)
.

That is certainly on Vita or at least an early build targeting the Vita, but that doesn't mean anything if Yoshida is going senile. GR1 started on the PS3 and was then moved to the Vita so knowing that GR"2" was on Vita at TGS isn't really helpful.

At this point, I don't really care what anyone says unless they're publicly announcing or canceling a game. I'm personally waiting 'till Gamescom and TGS before I jump to conclusions.
Although it's not like even video game announcements for Vita can be trusted
*cough* ZOE HD *cough*
...

On a side note, finally Platinumed Sly 4. The platforming was fun if not easy and a bit mindless, but those hacking minigames were just terrible imo. So stoked that I'll never have to play them again.

Or he means "sort of" sequel because it's more of a spin-off. I'm starting to wonder if this game is something kinda like SK: Shinovi Versus, where it isn't really a sequel to the original game, but more of an experimental side game.

Maybe it was just better (and possibly oddly self translated?) to say that than definitively say a sequel? All will be revealed eventually but a sequel seems like the way that they'd go... Does Japan Studio do many spinoffs?

LocoRoco Cocoreccho and Midnight Carnvial
every ape escape game but the main three
white knight chronicles origins
wild arms xf
hot shots anything that isn't golf

It will break my heart when GR2 either doesn't happen or is PS3/4. How could Kat do this to me? ;-;

Also, I would be so happy still, if I could play plain old Ape Escape 1 in the PSOne classics on Vita. Sony r not e.

Is the game fun though?

Yes. The remake has it's pros and cons (feels relatively stilted, 2D > 3D, but it pads a few things out that felt missing in the original & the multipath map is more readable), but unlocking a translated original Rondo of Blood shoots the game up to must have territory for me. Played it again around last Halloween and had such a good time. Best OG Castlevania.

Its playable on Vita no matter what

Dat remote play

So PS4 is like a Sega CD add on for my Vita? Wow, kind of pricey, but might be cool.

;-;

I can't believe Vita never got an Ape Escape game :(

Yeah, me too. From day 1, the gadget-esque, gimmicky feel of the Vita's tech (AR, mic, camera, 2 touch pads, gyro, both sticks) would have had so much new gadget opportunities. Think everything good that Little Deviants, Frobisher Says, Tearaway, Monster Radar etc did but ape oriented and way better.
