PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Picked up Batman Blackgate and God of War collection.

I'd heard bad things about the GoW port from the resolution to the framerate but honestly they look and play fine on the smaller screen. It was worth the 16 I paid for it at Best Buy. Should you buy the saga collection on ps3 over the vita one? Absolutely, but this port was just for vita fanatics anyway.

Batman was also a decent buy. Really nice graphics and sound. And I enjoyed using the touchscreen for detective mode. But Blackgate certainly had it's faults. The useless map, the excessive backtracking, disarming 5 bombs at the end of the game to pad it's length, and the broken boss fight against penguin. No where else in the game are the random thugs invincible to all your abilites and attacks. So I don't blame people who hate this game but I able to look past that stuff.

Picked up both of them a while back, and really enjoyed them. Being a huge gow fan, it was cool playing them on the Vita despite the poor performance it was panned for. I didn't have much issues outside of the horrendous cut scenes. Got the game free due to cross buy, so can't really complain.

Batman was rather a nice surprise. Picked it up when it was 13 bucks on psn. After hearing reviews and complaints, I expected the game to be much worse, but ended up enjoying it enough to unlock all the bat suits. I do agree that the backtracking and map sucked but overall, game was fun.

Is FEZ a PS3/PS4/Vita title? It displays as such on the PS Store, but I just want to verify. I ask as it's cheaper on Steam.

everyone should buy freedom wars
git hype

I binged on the GOW Vita collection the other day out of nostalgia. Been playing a bit of it and I'm really enjoying it! The quality of those cutscenes are almost inexcusably bad though but that doesn't really hinder my experience because I've seen them all before

My brother returned from the US with my PS Vita!
...I am still bummed the lazy bum didn't make use of the PSN glitch that made all games Vita compatible T.T *Goes to a corner and bawls his eyes out*

Freedom Wars releasing soon?
So many games I want but will wait til DangaRonpa 2's release to get them.

I don't understand that. They should have applied cross-buy to both versions.
It was because PSABR was full price retail release, so $60 Ps3 and $40 for Vita. Therefore if they were full cross-buy you could get the Ps3 game at a $20 discount even if you had no intention of getting a Vita.

Another reason it was only the PS3 version was because if you bought it on blu-ray it also included the Vita version. You paid more for it because you were buying two copies of the game. It does explain that the Vita version is just that, the Vita version in the Store.

From Phantasy Star Online 2, to Soul Sacrifice, to Soul Sacrifice Delta, and now to Toukiden along with probably Freedom Wars and Toukiden Extreme eventually my Vita can't get enough of Hunting games.
That aren't called Monster Hunter

Phantasy star is closer to an rpg than a hunting action kind of game.

Also, you will get monster hunter frontier on the Vita and you will like it.

Man, I wish phantasy star online is localised. Please Sega. Even an english asia version will do

It probably has to do with the physical version of the PS3 version being a bit pricier =/

As others have said, it's down to pricing. Here in the UK, the digital version was £10 cheaper, and retail was £15.

Oh thanks. That makes sense, I guess

Someone sell me on that Curry Saga Vita game that's on sale.

Is it a good RPG?
Imo it's a good roguelike, characters are cute(sorry no waifus) and i find dialogues very funny.
You always start a dungeon at level 1 so equipment is more important than stats, the more you use your equipment the better it become but if you die you lose your equipment(if you didn't use a certain object), in that case there's a really simple and small dungeon where you can get equipment.

It's a good japanese dungeon-crawler RPG, but don't expect a high-budget game, it feels kinda like an indie.

It's not high budget, but i don't see it's indie-ness...

The lines between an indie game and a low to mid budget game is blurring anyway. The patapons, half minute heroes, castlevanias and megamans of yesteryears are now viewed upon as indie games.

I'd agree with that (which is partly why I love the series) I still personally consider it a part of the hunting genre though.

And you're not far off
I'll reluctantly get it on Vita and hate it ;)

Yeah it's such a shame it still hasn't been localized. I have so many friends that I know would enjoy it and I'd enjoy playing it with but wouldn't be interested in playing the Japanese version (even if it has a english patch, luckily a couple of people I know do)

Ditto. I really need to get back into it sometime.

My man I love the series too.

I have been playing PSO2 on the SEA servers (it is completely in english) and man, it is the perfect portable game. You go around getting quests from people, and the quests are like 15-20 mins each. It is perfect for a portable game/

People should be clamoring for this to be localised rather than Type-0. Alas, it is not so.

only a bit over a week until Child of Light comes to Vita, right? I hope the PSN version is cheaper than retail since that seems to be just a stupid code anyway.

As long as he's not lying it's a physical game card:

The price on amazon.uk has dropped down to 15.99 GBP, comes with all DLC & some goodies, but I'd expect to pay $15, maybe $13 with PS+ even if you go digital.

Guys, I'm thinking of buying Ragnarok Odyssey but I'm thinking if I should just get the Ace right away? What's the best choice to do?

So i've been really interested in picking up some PSP RPG's for a long time such as Growlanser, Gungnir, Knights in the Knightmare, Dissidia 012 etc and was wondering what the odds were for them going on sale on the EU store at some point? I know there was the US sale a little while ago but whats the likeliness of seeing a sale on the EU store?

Buy Soul Sacrifice Delta, Toukiden, or wait for Freedom Wars instead. Ragnarok Odyssey isn't a good game. If you really want to play RO, ROA is probably the way to go (but definitely not at full price).

Already pre-ordered freedom wars so I'm good with that. Hmmm, I'm not exactly planning to buy it at full price but I'm curious which one should I get if I'm planning to buy it.

Nice to see another fan around here.

Yeah the structure of the game's perfect for a portable which is part of the reason I went out of my way to import the Japanese Vita version. (well that and my PC's not that great) If not for the amount of patches/updates taking up a bunch of space on my memory card i'd probably still be playing it.

I mentioned it in the original #jrpgvita campaign but I guess it wasn't meant to be, Sega isn't helping with their silence on the non-SEA version of the game either. At least there's still a small hope that we might end up getting Nova in English, even if not i'll probably still import the Japanese version.

I'd hope so seeing as how the retail version's practically double the other versions download prices.

I'm not sure about the rest but Square-Enix tend to have a PSN sale with most of their Final Fantasy games every now and then and 012's always included so another one should come around eventually.
I got one of these with the PS4 version of child of light
It lights up? I've had it since launch and had no idea.

So you need a JP/HK account to download it on Vita?

The deluxe edition of Child of Light was worth it for the Yoshitaka Amano poster alone.
Yeah, it was really awesome that Ubisoft got him to do a piece for the game.

I might be wrong but I think the Vita version was a Japan only thing so unless you grab a retail version of the game (so you can link the game and your PSO2 account to whatever other PSN you want to) you'll need to have a Japanese PSN account and a Japanese PSO2 account to download it on Vita.
